Impressive how they keep all their files and were able to compost the Darkseid CGI easily by replacing the Steppenwolf one.

The crazy thing about all of it, is that it's kinda the opposite. Darkseid was already the one before, he was in previsuals back on 2016. It's Joss & WB who changed it Steppenwolf. All Zack and his team had to do was finish the original visuals

Whedon’s version is awkwardly cut together, making the sequence of events hard to understand. Example: We kick off with Steppenwolf *already* in combat *then* show the armies arriving.
It also makes the reasoning for Steppenwolf’s retreat hard to understand.
- He killed the Lantern without a problem.
- He tanked the blow from Zeus.
- His armor withstood Ares’s strike.
He had no reason to pull back.
And this isn’t even me comparing it to Snyder’s version. This is just the scene on its own.
This comparison just proves zac synder was the right man to direct his justice league movie.

1:20 steppenwolf barely got hurt and retreated. While darkseid literally bled all over his shoulder and had to retreat because he was severely injured. Lmao whedon’s version makes no sense
Worst part is he didnt even retreat, he was pushed back by his own parademons. Its so inconsistent, he was pushed back by a couple of parademons but could beat a green lantern

@@hansturbela9514well they were losing considering it was just him against the old gods meanwhile on the snyder cut, darkseid replacing steppenwolf would still hsve him be a part of the conflict, in fsct with this implication, the old gods would be facing his roster of new gods like big barda, granny goodness and kabalik.
Because of this, the war should have been longer to be honest instead of just one battle, snyder forgot this like he darkseid forgot that earth is the planet of anti-life he was trying to get.
Darkseid bleeding made more sense as it showed that Darkseid thought Earth would be easy to conquer until Ares struck him and his parademons carried him. Darkseid does try to get up but he realizes he lost the war and the Anti Life Equation along with the Mother Boxes. I definitely showed that Darkseid learned to never underestimate anyone.
I like the little detail on how the green lantern ring always goes to a host with the most will. Lantern rings don’t head towards noble people but people with dominant willpower. The ring just hovers in front of Darkseid, showing that his will is an attractor for lantern rings. Whereas in Whedon’e version, it just leaves.
Really? Isn't the vow of the green lanterns something like "forces of darkness beware my power, green lantern's light"

@@RightBackAction Furthermore, look at Bruce Wayne of Earth -32 (The Dawnbreaker) he got a green lantern ring and kept it despite his desires to murder his enemies. While one could argue ring only continued to function the way he wanted to after it was corrupted and overpowered by Bruce's will, the ring did not leave Bruce even when he demanded the ring to first kill Joe Chill.

I don't know anything about dc universe but, after seeing the film the first time, my thought was: "A the beginning there was a giant army with all kinds of races to defeat Steppenwolf while in the end all they needed was only a kryptonian? wtf?".

Confused me how Steppenwolf alone was able to match against an alliance and the old gods when he got jobbered by Superman and WonderWoman later.
This makes slightly more sense.
The joss video literally showed he cant win considering darkseid only sent him and a couple of ships and not the entire army whereas snyder darkseid would be literally accompanied bynnot only more ships and parademons but also his roster of new gods and because of this implication, this war would not just be one battle but like the entire planet, of which snyder missed a big opportunity to do.

Eh, it's Whedon. He probably didn't want too much blood spilled since Snyder was no stranger and not even afraid to spill so much blood, and of course much violence. Whedon wanted to try and match it up with the MCU. Sadly, it didn't do to well.

I might be alone in this but although the Snyder cut was a huge improvement, I liked that Darkseid wasn't revealed in the Whedon version until the end. I thought seeing the final boss right away is kind of a bummer. Take note I don't know much about DC so I didn't expect the big baddie (Steppenwolf) to be a lackey of a much bigger baddie. But I do understand that Darkseid being on the movie pretty mmuch tied up all the loose ends.

The only thing I like about Whedon's version is the idea of Steppenwolf being the one who conquers worlds with the mother boxes in Darkseids name, because it gives a sense of how old/powerful he is. But even then...

I don't understand why they didn't use the soldier turning into parademon and green lantern using hammer in the snyder cut.
The soldier turning into parademon after The Unity successfully transform the worlds, not before that.
Yeah the Hammer scene would be cooler than just shooting laser, showing how they can use imagination for people who don't know who Lanterns are. Nevertheless I was completely satisfied with this movie. NO COMPLAINS.

The Snyder version makes so much more sense. How the hell can Steppenwolf hold battle against all those enemies including numerous old gods then proceed to get beat like a chump by a single kryptonian then murdered by his own parademons? Like what sort of logic is that?
And the fact that Snyder cut made Superman vs Steppenwolf much better, and makes more sense. He even lets the other characters shine.

this battle was longer, they summarized it a lot, this should have lasted 10 minutes or more, it is noticeable that there are missing scenes here. comparing with the trailers and the 2017 version, they have modified and deleted soldiers and silhouettes that were there before. #ReleaseTheSnyderExtendedCut

Not sure about this scene in the Zack's original version. Darkseid was described as a terrifying being throughout the movie, yet in his introduction scene he's got his ass kicked by Ares & ran away. Replacing him with Steppenwolf seems to be the better choice imo.

Green Lantern in 2017- Creates constructs to help fight in the batlle and then shows the middle of a battle where he is killed to build up the threat of SteppenWolf
Green Lanter in 2021- "Pew, pew. Face my pussy laser". Get knocked out of the sky by a few Parademons and is then killed by Darkside without giving much of a fight. Lame

I like Justice League, although I was disappointed that multiple scenes in the trailers and television spots were either reshot or excised. Although the musical nods to Superman (1978) and Batman (1989) are appreciated, they do not fit this iteration of the characters; however, Elfman's score managed to sound epic when Steppenwolf invaded Themyscira, and when Diana was telling Bruce about the first time Steppenwolf invaded Earth. However, Tom Holkenborg's score is MUCH BETTER. I do not mind The Flash falling on Wonder Woman's soft bosom, since he was saving her from falling debris in the tunnel and because he saw her as the mother he lost. I also did not mind Cyborg's story arc being deep-sixed, since I am not a comic booke reader. The shots of Miss Prince's backside were also not an issue for me. Superman's computer generated lip was AWFUL. Zack Snyder's Justice League is MUCH BETTER. I also highly recommend Zack Snyder's Justice League: Justice Is Gray Edition, and it must be released on home video. I have a few minor cavillations with the photo play, but I LOVE Zack Snyder's Justice League. Watch Justice League first, and then Zack Snyder's Justice League so you can easily compare the differences betwixt both photo plays.

Zach snyder's justice league is better but not by much. Too much meandering, too much slo-mo, followed by speedups, wonder woman and flash slow mo, then darting around like road runner was very disorienting.
Snyder uses too much choir moaning to show emotional weight, but it just drags on the story.

Also, how did Darkseid's first arrival on Earth not alert him to the location of the Anti-life equation. They didn't even explain how Steppenwolf figured out it was there. Just that the motherboxes showed him? That made no sense. Also, I prefer having Steppenwolf (like in the whedon version) come first instead of Darkseid, makes Darkseid look weak to lose on his first try.
This was just a boring movie, too long and meandering. I hate that batman is still a straight man character in the Snyder cut. He's supposed to always have a plan, always serious, always one step ahead. Here he's like a sitcom protagonist constantly reacting instead of proactive, he's not quite sullen enough. Just out of character. WW was more of a serious character than Batfleck

We got two versions now. One is with full budget and two directors, another one is controlled budget with old clips. In Snyder Cut he literally used many clipa from previous movies (MOS, WW, BSV).

a lot of people had mother boxes in the animated series and it was more of a portal gun that creates boom tubes... they made into a that cube thing like in avengers.... that really pissed me cause they ruined dc movie universe, it copying a another more succesfull franchise... seriously they could introduce darksied as so powerfull beats superman but leave earth alone and say i can destroy it anytime i want but leaves earth alone saying its more interresting alone, the start giving people power on earth so they can another Apocalypse. And the you they whedon or zack could have a bunch of meta humans increasing their power and aligning with dark sied. and dark sied can attack new genesis with earth. but no they did something stupid. these two stories suck because it was bland it stop the super being from destroying earth or conquering earth... how... seriously fuck these two people whedon just did the same stupid shit with avengers and justice league. ya no wonder these movie failed. avengers had already... they could done something different with dc universe that made it more interesting.

I would have to disagree on the visual part, since the saturation of Joss Whedon's version is too high. But I agree on adding the hammer part and parademon.
The color grading is better on Snyder's. Blacks are true blacks there while whedon's images are oversaturated. There's a popular film essay about Marvel's color grading and why many of their movies look like gray parking lots.
Personally I like the muted palate more. It gives the movie a more dramatic 300 tone as opposed to the high-energy wacky GOTG/Thor Ragnarok vibes. And removing the scene of the soldier turning into a parademon makes the "us versus them" theme more digestable and also seals up a lot of plot holes (remember all the times Steppenwolf travels to different parts of the world? Why didn't he just turn everyone into those parademons?)

I have to agree with Time Killer. He might be a terrible person, but he's a good director.The "Firefly" series directed by him was amazing. Shame it got cancelled after the first season. Same goes for "The Avengers" and "Age of Ultron".

I did not enjoyed the plot of the film as it involved with a android that is capable of destroying earth but he's dumb as a regular human for thinking that a AI could help him on destruction by making a body for the AI from using a infinity stone...

I don;t find it very impressive. It's all CGI. With enough time and money, I imagine it's pretty run of the mill work for animators.
Why exactly is CGI a bad thing?
Try to make Steppenwolf with his animated armour, Darkseid, Dessad and their projection on a rock and parademons without computer generated images (CGI). Try to have disguised actors as their respective character speak with practical effects. You will realize how tedious and time consuming practical effects can be especially when it comes to fix mistakes.

Whedon's steppenwolf looked like a foot soldier and they never even mentioned darkseid. The villain in Whedons version was comically bad and puny looking. And he died in a puny way - attacked by his minions because he felt fear?? You need a strong villain to justify five of the strongest DC superheroes coming together against him. Whedon failed to deliver.
