I recently got reinvested in the NT series and I was thinking of getting the PET's and battle gate. Although I used to own the first version which was international, I do not know where it went over time.
I am glad to know that the chips and the Gameboys are not region locked. That is my main worry to me because trying to obtain any that is in English is a tall task. Though, to use the gate I will need the game as a Japanese version... That might be tricky to find, but not impossible.
Thanks for this video. I'm about to purchase a couple of gates myself and some more chips and see if I can't have some netbattles with a buddy.
sorry, as you'll see close to the end, yes, some chips have single use limits.
others can be used up to three times,
the game *dose not* run on a chip capacity system.
+BOBdotEXE Is that limit per battle or per game?
+mvShooting only per fight luckily.
I'm curious about the possibility of building a custom chip gate, have you ever taken one of these apart for the purpose of research? If not would you be willing to do a video of a tear down at all?
I have not torn them down, but it's extremely simple,
They're just a basic circuit, so you could build an Arduino reader fairly cheaply.
here's a quick rundown on how they work:

I just picked up a battle chip gate I can't wait to use it
Just found out about this.
It look awesome!
Does the battlechip gate work with GBA flashcarts? Like the EZ Flash Omega or the Supercard mini SD
yes, all you need is access to the link port.
@@bobdotexe Thanks for the answer!
I can play Megaman 5 with the chip gate in the story mode?
Sorry, but only 4.5 and 6 allow using ships in story mode
For 4 and 5, its tournament mode only :(
What is your favorite BattleChip. Mine is the Bass Anomaly Giga Chip that I got in Battle Network 6 Cybeast Falzar
epcthunderfist987 I'm not sure I have a single fav,
I like a lot from a few diff. games
Anti-damage (pre-bn4)
guardian
neo-var sword.
super Vulcan.
I did not get many of the extra giga chips, so I missed out on a few of the bass ones :(
BOBdotEXE Tell me this then. Could you beat me in a NetBattle if my navi is BASS? If not, then tell me where I can buy a replica PET.
epcthunderfist987 bass has some pretty wicked charge moves,
and high hp in bn 4.5, but with good chips (and if I was skilled, lol)
I could still win.
I'm not sure where you could find 'replica' pets.
What I own are the working toy versions,
you can find all off them on ebay, and the Korean versions are pretty cheap, and still work great!
l prefer the ice and dark chips
Will the battle chip gate work with a US gba? And is it only the gba, like could it work with an Sp or micro also?
yes, gba consoles have no region lockout, so any game/accessory will work.
However, this will not fit a gb micro.
If I use the Battle Chip Gate on Megaman Battle Network 6 will it work even if it's the American/English Version?
nope, battle chip gate features were removed from the USA version of the game.
Cool
This shoulda came out decades ago when the game was hot lmao.
um.. they were released alongside the games
Damn. This is so cool.
The time and the date in game are not running, do you have any solution for that? Thx
sound like the internal clock battery is dead.
you'll have to open the cart and replace it.
BOBdotEXE would that be a chance that the data will be reset once I replace the battery? Thanks
A very late question. Will the Progress Chip Gate work with 4.5?
as far as I'm aware it will not, but sadly I don't have one to test.
Must buy one
can u do aa program advance
will it work on a ds lite
nope, the ds m models don't have a gba link port
How tf is the shit hooked into the game cube.
