I recently purchased a '24 Platinum and have been very pleased with it. The build quality is excellent-all doors close with a solid, satisfying thump; the drive train is excellent-ample power, silky smooth, quiet with seamless shifts. There's double pane acoustic glass in the windshield and front side windows which along with sound deadening materials keep the cabin very quiet. The tech along with the dash layout aren't my favorites but it functions well and I especially appreciate the hard buttons and knobs . I like and use the head-up display, the 360 camera and Pro Pilot assist. I have to concede that I've not experienced any of the rocking sensation pointed out by this reviewer, Taking bumps may be a bit harsh but the truck stays composed and rattle free. And for the size I find the Pathfinder ride to be solid even when taking sharp corners. It also has a nice, relatively tight turning radius. Finally, one of the key reasons I opted for the Pathfinder over its competitors was headroom. At 6'-6" I fit very well behind the wheel. It's one of the few vehicles I've tried where I have more than enough headroom. And with its long seat bottoms it also provides good thigh support without relying on an extension. The Pathfinder Platinum really has all of the key features found in the Infiniti QX-60 Autograph trim which stickers at more than $15,000 more. Yes it's lacking the plush interior and a few other insignificant bits but otherwise, functionally, it's the same truck. All in all , if you're in the market for a midsize three row suv, I think it's worth serious consideration - especially if you're tall!
I just got the 2024 Pathfinder platinum love the look inside and out. Love the pathfinder all together. I can visit garden dept at Lowe's and dont need a truck, this does fine
1st or 2nd video watching you guys. Subscribed!!! I actually LOL 'd for real from you guys. Reminds me of some of my convos with my wife...I don't feel so alone anymore thankfully!
I guess it des make sense that the front parking sensors are active regardless of forward or reverse, as when backing out of a spot, you do need indication of how close the front corner is to the other vehicles.
@@jax1079 The cool thing is, if you look at the display between the tach and speedometer, it indicates where around the vehicle the obstacles are being detected. That is a good way to see if the beeping is from behind or in front of you. Pretty cool.
6:16 I love this Chestnut Brown leather. Interior! I wish it was available in the SL with the regular but they restrict this unique color to the semi-aniline leather
My dislikes for my 2023 SL Premium same Red/Back color: Yes, the parking brake button. My does turn off then I put it in drive, but I have to hit the gas pedal. Yes, front sensor is a pain when in reverse. Shutting off the backup sensor when I have a trailer on it. Shutting off the engine Start/Stop every time I start the engine. Biggest grip is when I turn on the cruise control the screen stays in it, I have to manually reset back to my normal driving screen.
Interesting that you notice the same irritations. Hopefully Nissan consider addressing some of them since they’re relatively minor concerns. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
...... I feel like I'm watching a divorce video and not so much a review of a vehicle. 😅 Overall, it was an awesome video, maybe tone down on the banter between each other? I feel like I was watching a married couple bicker about a marriage that was close to a divorce. Lol!
Haha! We’re only staying together for the reviews. 😂 We just like to be normal. I could cut all of our mistakes and disagreements out, but then we’re not being ourselves. We’re just showing real reviews and real life 😉👍🏻
My ‘23 had been in the shop four times. I think the transmission is slipping. That’s another two weeks without a ride. I’m going Honda. Would go Toyota, but I don’t want the “subscription” fees.
Love the video and transitions please keep them! Also looking for the QX60 sensory review… cross shopping against that I need a proper 7 seater (3 teen kids)
Good and fun review! This is slightly irrelevant, but we have a 2021 Nissan Rogue, where the backup sensor causes the car to slam on its brakes every time we back out of the sloped driveway because it thinks we're about to hit the pavement, where it levels off. Our 2019 didn't have this issue. It is the most ridiculous, annoying, and maddening thing I've ever seen. It's not possible to turn reverse automatic braking permanently. I truly hope the Pathfinder doesn't have the same issue because it sits higher and hopefully doesn't mistake the pavement for an object. Aside from that, every time you use cruise control, after you're done, dash doesn't return to whatever display you had prior, so you have to hunt for whatever you typically like to see, such as the speedometer. Some of the lane keeping features have annoying sound and vibrating alerts, but I haven't checked to see if there are ways to make it less so. I'm worried that the Pathfinder genetically inherits some of these issues as well (including the parking sensor issue you mentioned). Makes me wonder what were they thinking...
I agree that there are some little details that would go a long way to improving the user experience. Nissan gets a lot more right than they get wrong, though. They’re on the right path, and the Pathfinder improvements prove it.
@@jax1079 Yeah, definitely nice looking and competitively priced package. One thing I'm definitely disappointed in is that Nissan was the first brand to introduce 360 view cameras, which has been available on SV models for years... Apparently, Nissan yanked it from SV and it's now only available on SL and Platinum trim levels, which to me is just greedy. Other than that, however... 🙂
Great stuff. When you reviewed the 2022 Pathfinder in Jul 22 you did not recommend it. It seems as you have reviewed the 2023 Pathfinder twice now you do recommend it? Are you seeing differences in the 2023 that make it better than the first generation 2022?
Well… I think it depends on which one of us you ask. Since I was mainly doing the channel by myself then, I didn’t really find any standout feature to recommend the Pathfinder despite the fact that it’s generally good. (I’m also kind of biased against vehicles with soft rides that lack a measure of control.) That said, Megan REALLY likes the way the Pathfinder looks inside and out, and doesn’t find the ride objectionable. She’s much more positive on the Pathfinder. For comparison, I’d take a Highlander hybrid over this but she wouldn’t. I think that’s what makes our reviews unique now: real world family use with two unique perspectives.
@@jax1079 Fair enough and really like the real world perspective. I think your family road trips are very insightful as well. I have a 4WD 4Runner right now that has the V8 which Toyota no longer offers and the newer ones towing maxes out at 5k so that is not an option. My 4Runner is getting up there in miles so I'm looking for a replacement that can tow a boat/trailer between 5,500 and 5,800 lbs fully loaded. Other than a full size truck which I don't really want there are few choices. I'm considering the Pathfinder Rock Creek which according to the spec should be able to do the job based on the 6k capacity and 4WD. If you come across any real world stories of pulling a boat out of the water with a Pathfinder I'd love to hear that story ;-) Cheers!!!
@@scofielddan FYI, I towed a 5,800 lb. travel trailer for about 80 miles with no problems. I have the 2023 SL with the Premium pkg. Got 12.5 mpg. Most of my trip was highway and not many hills.
Agreed, ride and handling sucks! I have a 2023 SV and feels really unestable and wobbling at +50mph. I believe is an issue with the shocks and entire suspension system, feels the car is bouncing all the time, even with the smallest tiny bump. Guess what Dealer says... it is NORMAL... what a news.
Sadly, this is how I feel in general about this almost great SUV: the Pathfinder gets so many things nearly right, but it lets itself down in certain critical areas (and doesn’t have a definitive ace versus the competition). It’s a shame for an otherwise handsome and well priced SUV.
If I wanted a review by a typical bickering couple I would click on this. The dynamic here is EXACTLY like real life in that it’s incredibly annoying. After this review I’m going to seek out a more soothing video like 30 minutes of finger nails on a chalkboard or maybe somebody mistreating puppies.
Sorry but Meagan drove me nuts 🙄 She was just so annoying and trying way too hard to be funny. People who watch car videos aren’t in it for the humor.
