How To Organize Toolbox
Toolbox Organization
You're going to hate the gearwrench, just wait. They start to loosen over time and it becomes a mess. Maybe you got a good one, idk. I love the Ernst verions. I cut them down to make them modular and fit across my entire drawer. The drawer looks great though bro!! Oh, icon just released video of their new ratchet line, called the G-Force. Apparently they are completely redesigned and they are also offering locking flex head and extended versions now too. I'm looking forward to trying them because I don't like their current ratchet line up. I think there are much better options for the money, but they aren't terrible i suppose, just not all that good.
Thanks for the heads up. I figured they would go to hell but I was hoping they wouldn’t. I’ll just buy more pliers so they can’t move. Hahaha. Do the Ernst hold the pliers pretty good. Wire racks work fine in my box that doesn’t move but this mobile cart is a pain to keep them from not sliding all over hell
@@TwoTurtlesAndAWrench the Ernst racks have this dip in the bottm and the entire bottom is made of this rubber insert, so they stay in there pretty good. When I move my mobile cart or slam the drawers, they stay put pretty well. The Ernst also has several colors to choose from too. They are made in the US and have a lifetime warranty too. I really like them.
Hey man I’m looking for info on this new ratchet. Where can I find it?
@@jeffmiller4168 Den of Tools channel. He has a short clip from the harbor freight private expo.
I use the hurricane ones!! They work for me!! Thanks turtle!!
@@jefftovani5535 I haven’t tried them yet. Thanks for stopping by Jeff.
I need to find a good way to organize my pliers in my service truck. Right now I got em all jammed in a tupperware and they are all red handle snap on and icon so digging for and finding the pliers I want is a giant pain
Yeah man I don’t know. My first thought is to look into maybe some of the peg board racks and see if you can modify one to work. I think if a guy used a plyworx pliers rack and attached an elastic band/ bungee cord towards the top that might work.
For those Engineer pliers, they have a green nose cap made specifically for that model for just over $4 before tax on Amazon. It fits perfectly and keeps them closed.
Awesome! Thank you!!
Awesome video. I have like 80 sets of pliers. Great find! Thanks for sharing
I thought I had quite a few pliers. I’m no where near 80. I’m jealous.
As for the gearwrench, I just don’t know how well these will hold up over time. Thanks for watching
I use the wire racks..2 drawers full of pliers and other handled tools..they've been the best for me for years 👍
The wire racks are a great option. They last forever and they just work.
I'm still on the fence for pliers my ocd kills me 😂. Speaking of gear wrench can't wait to see a review if you get the 120xp ratchets. Keep up the reviews man
The ratchet video will come. I just want to use them all awhile before I form my opinion.
I have a similar one from HF and I don’t like how the ends come off easily, the slots move around when you have some pliers out and you open and close the drawer multiple times and then moving the slots back are not easy and a pain to deal with.
Please do an update on your step in a few months. If this brand slots stay in place I will look into buy them.
I feel like the gearwrench will move around more in the future but as for now they're holding well. I will definitely do an update down the road.
Would be interested to see how that gear wrench holds up...
Not too bad so far. The thing is I have the drawer completely full so there’s no room for anything to really move. I feel like the sliders will move over time
Hello again, Two Turtles and a Wrench
Thank you for another Great Video 👍 I enjoyed watching tonight's video. Question for you about the GW pliers rack. How do you adjust the the length of the rack. For example, the rack is 12" inches long. And you have a 20" drawer. Now your two inches over the dimensions. Again thank you 👌
I cut the “rail” down with a bandsaw. Thanks for stopping by.
Wonder if a small spacer (like 1/8 of an inch) under the open side of the pliersrack would elevate it enough to keep things from sliding.
All you would need, is a few degrees of incline.
That’s a great idea. Like you said it probably won’t take much
I need something, mine are all just laying in a drawer. It's a mess. Thanks for the advice
I don’t know how well these will hold up but I like them. If your box doesn’t move the wire racks work pretty good too
I use the none adjustable style like that for many years now ... I even use them for my jumbo wrenches, saves a boat load of room
I just hope these last. I really like em. I’ve been watching your videos. I really love the way you organize your tools. Really clean
@@TwoTurtlesAndAWrench I think I have the Ernst style. Thank you good organization saves time and money imo
I’m not in the profession world but I like my stuff to be organized
Great video. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
I like the gearwrench style, maybe mine are bluepoint or mltools, snap on has theirs as well, had then several years and I like them
Good to know. I hope these will hold up but I really like them
That looks very similar to the Ernst one my coworker has. I’ve been making due with the wire ones, maybe it’s time to switch
They’re pretty similar but to my knowledge the Ernst aren’t adjustable. Curious how well these will hold up
Ernst, their organizers are amazing. Snap on rebrands Ernst organizers.
Ernst does make great products. Also made in the USA. I’ve tried about all the Ernst products except their plier organizer. If these gearwrench fail me which they probably will, I’ll check out Ernst.
I worked for Tommy and have seen all his versions. Thousands of cases of them over the time I was there.
Excuse my ignorance but who is Tommy?
@@TwoTurtlesAndAWrench Sorry, Tommy prior to retiring was the owner of Tommy’s Hi Tech in Denton Texas. It was the last shop I wrote service for prior to retiring myself. He had several containers in a row behind the shop that he ran his Plyworks business out of. He was a generous great guy to work for.
@@deanhockenberry9268 I gotcha. Makes sense now. Thanks for the info
I have the Horrible Freight version. I like mine, no problems.
I just hope these hold up. I really like em
Stop the Harbor Hate lol
Are you from Wisconsin? The jump around tipped me off.
I'm actually from Nebraska. So about every other year I get to see the jump around. Also I usually see a big L for my Huskers.
harbor freight has a similar rack
Good to know. Do you have any experience with them?
@ yes I have a couple they look identical to the gear wrench you have only red. And I’m not sure if the end pops off
cood info if I ever take my tools off my truck and get a shop chest I will have to get me some
I hope they will hold up. Been hearing they won't though
VGG hat nice
You know it
👍😎👍
👍
I believe tekton makes the same one.
I don’t believe the tekton ones are adjustable. I’m not positive though
