Katie, A big part of your success is your great eye for design. Your understanding that reshaping the legs and removing the decorative molding was critical, is so on target. I think I would make a lot of messes before creating any of the outstanding pieces you create. Well done!
The idea of removing the front pieces and modifying the legs made the difference. By replacing the hardware and painting your piece with this trendy color, you hit the nail on the head.
So glad to find someone who does modern makeovers!! I’ve never been into rustic. You did a really good job! I’m also impressed with your tools, it makes it feel much more do-able!! A big thumbs up from ‘down under’.
A new life for that hideous piece of furniture. You offered it youth and elegance. It's fire, actually! I watch your interesting videos from France. Bravo! 😀👍💪
So happy “the algorithm” put this vid in my feed. I would have thought the original piece was beyond hope, but you proved me wrong. I’m looking forward to watching more of your vids. 😀😀
I love what you did with a piece that I would have have walked by in the thrift store. The legs make that stand look lime it could dance all night in its new green dress!
Katie, I love how you approach each piece so methodically, & then work through it so meticulously. It’s not just a painting fix, it’s an artistic process, & it always turns out so great. 💕
I love this. Most people just throw a coat of pain and new knobs on old furniture. But you went the extra kilometer ;) it looks so amazing. Also very cleaver what you did with the legs.
Beautiful!! Restoring furniture and other pieces that can be loved again in a different way is so fulfilling💯❣️ You are doing a great job; the ease and comfort you have indicates how long you've been doing this and how many pieces you've produced. *I'll add 2 suggestions from experience; *Always wear a can respirator mask. (You may have had one on, but just didn't show it in your video). They are a real pain, I know. But you'll never regret wearing one. *Get yourself a table, girl!! The space you have available of course, limits what you can do, but your contorting yourself was making me hurt! I promise you age and your body remember. I got 4 of those "put together yourself" heavy wood shelving sets with the metal legs and supports, and made a 4 square table in my garage, and you can always reconfigure if needed. Plenty of room, and you can screw or nail something into the top if you need and make notes. They have 2 other shelves underneath. Gamechanger!!
So ... some people relax by watching asmr But ... I relax by watching KSmr You are so talented and informative and relaxing to watch, Katie Scott. Seeing the result of all your work is like finding out 'whodunnit'. The final reveal is so very satisfying.
I kind of loved the original look and stain with the vintage pulls, but I get why you took it in a different direction. I hope to find a $5 nightstand as cute as this some day.
Hi, Katie! I have several things I feel I just must share today in appreciation of you, and this really perfect little piece: First, oh, I just love the color. Secondly, the new pulls and the reconstruction of the legs are sheer brilliance. Third, the market for small, single, multi-use pieces like this are very popular with those of us who have downgraded to smaller residences (i.e., older folks like me who have opted for small and efficient apartments or condo units in place of large homes), so do not under-estimate the value of repurposing such pieces--more, more, more please! And lastly, that sweet little hammer you used to remove the brads from the drawers? I own an identical one! Mine was gifted to me by my grandfather some 50 years ago when I moved into my very first apartment back in my college years...mine is over 100 years old and one of my most prized refinishing tools, so thanks for bringing back a fond memory of years spent as a child in grampa's woodworking shop. ( Sorry this is so long--my goodness!)
Another renewed, rejuvenated, recycled glorious old piece of worn out furniture made into a new life!....you are amazing!...God bless y’all and stay safe and healthy!
$5??? Girl, those legs are hot! Seriously, between that on-trend green and those natural wood pulls and legs, you've got another winner. 😍
I love the feet and the hardware! Another modern beauty.
You another amazing painter. Like Christime, Kasha and you.
