How could anyone be offended by such beautiful transformations?

Though I am one of those people who prefers natural wood, I knew as soon as I saw the damage to the top that would be too labor intensive and expensive to repair. Then I saw the gorgeous gold handles against the emerald green and I literally sat here with my mouth open. If you didn't live in Canada, I'd ask how much you wanted and when I can pick it up. As someone said below, I'm sick of the "white distressed" look. Its incredibly refreshing to see someone who isn't afraid of color, and can envision and create such a gorgeous masterpiece. You truly are an "artist". Thank you for the inspiration!

Why would anyone be offended by you making over anything. You give discarded pieces a second chance. All of your pieces are gorgeous. Love your vision for every piece you makeover.

It absolutely blows my mind that people would even put negative comments about the great work you're doing...... You are a fabulous artist a wonderful Creator there's nothing that you have done that even deserves negative feedback..... This is art at the end of the day and you are sharing your creativity with us..... Keep up the good work and I just want to let you know that your videos in my eyes are appreciated 100%..... And your furniture is amazing.
And the people who leave negative comments about your work.... Maybe we should be asking to see theirs. I'm just getting started in this and your videos inspire me every time
Thank you so much for sharing

Katie, I’m in Florida so I can’t buy your revamped furniture but I would love to own some of your creations. They are truly beautiful. You have amazing vision. As to the nay sayers. I love to watch RUclips videos. It’s my form of entertainment. I have learned that there are people out there that love to criticize, ridicule, and attack people’s confidence. They are going to always be out there. My advice to you is to ignore them and enjoy what you do. Don’t let anyone take that from you. Most of us enjoy watching you create. Do it for us. I’ve seen RUclips creators who are amazing give up because of the nay sayers. When you deal with the public you need to have thick skin. Thank you for sharing your creativity.

I love this and SOOOOO agree with what you put above about the nasty comments. I get so annoyed when people think it's terrible to paint anything. Who cares? It's made beautiful and at the end of the day, IT IS JUST furniture, not a human life.

  • @sit_boy

Given the damage on the top and the pb and veneer combo, this piece wouldn't have much of a profit margin left if repaired to a natural wood look. Totally the right choice to paint it!

I’m usually not a fan of changing mid century pieces from wood to paint but this was actually a beautiful improvement. It had seen better days and the laminate top was damaged anyhow. I have a similar piece in dark walnut. Looks like an end table. Same legs and laminate top. Been thinking of painting it as well if the damage on the sides doesn’t sand out. Thanks for the inspiration!

The most offensive part of this entire ordeal... you didn't even mask the back panel particle board. I should point out you didn't get even a teeny bit of either shade of green on it. HOW? What wizardry is this? Offended, indeed. XO

Hi Katie! You did a beautiful job. Really made the best out of a piece that had seen better days. Love the color. Love that you use power tools and a sprayer. And your eye for decorating is spot on! Less is more. Show off the beauty of the PIECE, not the stuff, right? Also, you got it right again by hanging the little pic low over the cabinet. Most people hang art too high and it becomes "disconnected" from the setting. You did that just right too! NICE!!!

To respond to your comment about your jump in subscribers- I think I subscribed a few days ago. I have a couple of pieces I plan to paint and I want them to look beautiful, rather than just ‘redone’. I appreciate your knowledge and expertise in terms of what sand paper to use, how to perform a test section, what to coat it with once it’s painted, going BACK over with 320 grit sandpaper, etc. Those are all noteworthy tips and I will definitely use them on the two pieces I have. Thank you so very much!!

To be honest, I prefer to restore over redo on period furniture, but there are times where - especially if the choices are redo or landfill - the redo is the better option. So I was really apprehensive until I saw what it was you were working with, and it's condition. I also thought it was a good choice to darken the colour. Really lovely outcome for that piece. Nice work, Katie.
