    I used to work there in the 90's. I've "made" the dressing many times. You start by opening a box of Wish Bone Italian dressing and pouring them into the giant mixer bowl then you add fresh cut oregano, basil, and parsley. Use the giant wire whisk on high for like 2 mins then Pour into bottles and stick an Olive Garden label on it. Never added any mayo or anything else to it.

      I am going to try this and I NEVER use Canola Oil. I will substitute Avocado Oil. It doesn't have much of a taste itself and should work fine. I even use it in cake mixes.

    Just made this for dinner. While I don’t think it tasted like OG dressing, I think it was a wonderful dressing on its own. I even added the evil dressing packet! My giant salad had romaine, cucumbers, tomato, cubed cheese, avocado, olives, and andouille sausage (don’t ask and don’t judge 😝). We are DEFINITELY using this again. Thanks for the recipe!

    On your website you list italian dressing packet as an ingredient to use for this recipe. That kind of defeats the purpose of a recipe.smh

      @rspryngfarmcountry4487  4 года назад +1

      Italian dressing packets are just an easy way to get the Italian dressing mix of spices just right, but you can easily make it yourself by combining parsley, oregano, garlic, salt, pepper, basil, celery flakes etc. The packet is just convenient and something easy to store in the spice cabinet.

    Will using all olive oil or avocado oil in place of canola oil and vegetable oil yield the same taste?

    • @rspryngfarmcountry4487
      @rspryngfarmcountry4487  4 года назад +1

      Since each of those oils have their own unique flavor it may change it a tad but would still make an excellent dressing. Definitely try it and see ❤️

    • @JoshChristiane
      @JoshChristiane 3 года назад +7

      No it won't be the same, it'll be much better. Canola is used because it's a cheap oil and a lot of large companies think that cutting corners on food is okay, but if you look into Canola oil you'll find it's quite unhealthy and very unnatural. Stick with Avocado and Olive, that's the perfect mix in my opinion. I make it going half / half with avocado/olive.

    Italian Dressing
    This tangy, bell pepper-and-herb flecked salad dressing is a favorite in many American restaurants. But “dressing” as Americans know it doesn’t exist in Italy-there, salads are exclusively dressed with oil and vinegar, or sometimes just oil.
