Hi Sweet Friends, Today I am sharing How to Make 5 Homemade Salad Dressings. These DIY Salad Dressings are Quick and Easy to make with just a few simple ingredients, plus they are all Healthy too since they are made with all natural ingredients. And yes, if you want to substitute the sea salt in these recipes with another type of salt (some of you have told me you like to use Redmonds Real Salt), you can. My only recommendation is to avoid the processed salts that contain anti-caking agents and/or unwanted chemicals.
The 5 varieties of Homemade Dressings include French Vinaigrette (plus two bonus dressings including Italian and Balsamic Vinaigrette), Ranch, Thousand Island, Blue Cheese, and Green Goddess.
Here are the time stamps for each:
French Vinaigrette: 2:30 (Italian Dressing: 8:43 and Balsamic Dressing: 12:20)
    Thousand Island: 13:35
    Blue Cheese: 20:47
    Ranch: 27:16
    Green Goddess: 36:08
And don’t forget to check the description under the video for a direct link to the printable salad dressing recipes and instructions. Love, Mary

Lovely! I always make my own dressings, never bought one. I grew up that way and just continue the "tradition". Though I seldom premake it, I start my salads with the dressing ingredients in the bowl first, mix it up and then add the greens and toss, done. That way nothing gets forgotten in the fridge and I add whatever herbs are growing and I feel like, never the exact same.

I always save the plastic lid from Duke's mayo (32oz) which fit perfectly on a standard canning jar. I've had so many of the metal canning lids/rings rust plus it's a pain to deal with 2 part lids when you just want to store something in fridge. Other brands' lids may work, too, but I only buy Duke's.

Some of my family members prefer thicker dressings but like the vinaigrette taste.
Using my NutriBullet I added some canned pumpkin & cashews ~ then added vinaigrette, blended for several seconds. The result was slightly creamier without noticably changing the taste.
Family was happy with the result.
Plus.. pumpkin is high in fiber, Vitamin A, lutein, very nutrient dense 🎃 :) Cashews - high in heart healthy fats + copper, magnesium, manganese,, important for energy production, brain health, immunity, bone health to name a few.
@Mary's Nest, I apologise for long comment.. BUT..your 'content' is so inspirational. After years of being called crazy for my food choices, opinions, recipes etc, I now know *We Don't Have to be Perfect to be Amazing!*
Thanks for being a positive light in a world of people dwelling on the negative. 🙏🌿 God Bless

Mary I enjoy your channel, I've been cooking for year's I'm a farmers daughter and now a farmer in my own right👩‍🌾 I have a tip for you, You can grow your own Tarragon😁 Look up something called Mexican Tarragon, It may not be called French but it is so close I think you will be pleased. And the good new's is, it likes the hot sunny weather of Texas. Look into it, I have been cooking since I was 9 years old. I went to cooking school and have gotten to cook in many wonderful places, my favorite is my own kitchen. I hope this helps. May God bless all that you do, your sister in Christ

Thank you so much for mentioning this so that folks will know about it!! So glad you are here!! Love, Mary

@@MarysNest It's my pleasure🥰 We farmers/homesteaders are open minded and ALWAYS looking for a new thing, another way, if we don't keep learning, changing we will fail for so long folks considered farming/homesteading as a dirty/ lowly living😢 that was so sad because farmers have to know a little bit of everything. And "in my humble opinion" LOL, it's a great life.
Thank you so much for doing what you do including growing your own food🤗, and making your own food from scratch,😍teaching young women HOW TO COOK FROM SCRATCH!!!!!! So important.

7:38 - My family has always used painters tape as labels rather than writing on the lid itself. It's easier to write something else on it when you use the jar again and the painters tape stays on well enough but comes off easily when needed without leaving the lid all gluey. It's cheaper and more convenient than buying actual labels and it comes different colours, so you could even colour code your labels

I'm excited to try these, especially the blue cheese. That's my favorite! I used to go to the farmer's market with my dad, and there was always a farmer with a trailer where we would get cheese, always including a big chunk of blue cheese. My son has inherited my family's love of blue cheese, so I'm excited to make it for him too! Thank you!

I cannot grow tarragon in Central FL either but Mexican tarragon tastes just as good and it thrives in the heat! I’m sure any of the big box stores carry it in the Spring. It grows wild for me and I have to trim it once in a while. For me it’s a perennial, you might have to put it in a sunny window in the winter.

I really love your video's and recipes. However, you do one thing that drives me crazy to the point I either shut the volume off or stop the video if shutting volume off prevents me from getting the recipe right. What is it? you ask...Every time you try your food the crunching is so loud it makes my skin crawl. Maybe you can cover the mic while eating, maybe cut the sound effects of "Umm" etc... I don't know, but what I do know is I'll have to stop watching. Don't let that stop you though because you have it going on,

I am excited to say I made the thousand island dressing (from my fermented ketchup and pickles) and it is soooooooo good!! I almost ate a whole bag of lettuce! lol. FYI: I live in Greece and sour cream is not available so I substituted sheep yogurt(non strained) in its place. Delicious !!! THANK YOU Mary!!!!!
