    He learns so quick because he has a motivator.. I have no friends who skate and my family just tell me iam gnna break my leg for skating. I know how to Ollie but have trouble moving fast and then Ollie.

    • @kiyoshi2389
      @kiyoshi2389 9 лет назад +3

      what happens when you ollie while moving? my problem used to be that it turns when i ollie and if thats yur problem then just stop trying to bail off yur board but if not explain to me what youbare doing and il try to help :D

    • @sebastianbravo8829
      @sebastianbravo8829 9 лет назад +1

      Kiyoshi just keep trying, practice makes pros, just try to ollie as u do without moving. Most of begginers cant ollie while moving because it's hard to get your legs high with the board, so just try to jump as high as u can and flick a lot

    • @kiyoshi2389

    When I have trouble with a trick and start bailing, I try to visualize myself "landing" the trick. I don't even think about how I'm going to do the trick, just try to see myself landing and it works. My body just does the motion and I have a better time landing the trick.

      Jonathan Guzman I try the same think I don’t know why but I always get an image in my head of like an anime or something with like a kid ollieing a curb but it works helped me land a 3 stair first try.

  • @dru3871
    @dru3871 9 лет назад +28

    I went from Ollieing a curb to a few gaps and got over fear and was able to go straight to a 4 stair lol. I literally looked all over town and there isn't a single 3 stair or 5 stair. -_- small towns suck

      I really lucked out, I’m from a tiny town with ab 200 people, but 10 minutes from me is a college that has a 2,3,4, and a 5 stair

    • @DotKom01
      @DotKom01 3 года назад +2

      @@talonwilson6330 I found a college across the road from me with a stair set with a slightly slanted landing, but because of the slanted landing, the farther you go to the right the more stairs there are! It goes from 2 to 5 stairs, and there's a six stair not much farther from there haha. Colleges are always packed with spots.

    by the way these video helped me A LOT
    when Aaron said that don't think what you might do or how can you get hurt just do it think about how will you land it well yea that's what i have to do too it slowed me down SOOOOO much my negative attitude about what will happen if i try it in learning new stuff on skate

    • @kwote
      @kwote 10 лет назад +1

      Kwotemusic yea if i fix that the only problem remains that usually i skate with 1-3 new skater who recently started like when the summer started because nobody of my old skate dudes really skate :( old good times :D when we were like full at the spot now it's sadly empty

    Lance inspires me to get over some of my absolutely stupid fears with skateboarding when I've been able to do something for ages and just not pushed myself into actually doing it. For example, been skateboarding for 4 years. Can go really fast, skateboard with my dog and recover from pebbles of doom somehow. Until this year hadn't even tried riding off a curb >.>... So easy. (Yet I still have the stupid fear on unknown curbs lol). I used to be a fearless child but then I grew up and became a scaredy cat :/... Anyway, thanks Lance!

      Kevin Nusshold
      what the fuck? kickflip and fs flip on 6 stairs, but can´t ollie a 7 ? first of all respect to do these tricks on a 6 stair!!!! so how about kickflipping a 7 stair? well I guess you are a bit afraid of. so how about putting a little shoebox or something on a 6 stair, so you will basicly have a 7. and then you can tell your self, that you nailed a 7 and try to put that confidence in a try of a real 7 stair. or you could pay attention to the fact how far you are away by the landing of a 6 stair and tell yourself, that it is enougt to nail a 7.

    I hate how anal cops and people in general are about skaters. I had the cops called on me for skating in a freakin' parking lot.... Where the fuck am I supposed to skate? There are no skateparks around here unless I wanna drive 35 minutes away, and any spot I go with cement I get kicked out cuz they think I'm some sort of punk who is looking to vandalize their precious asphalt.

      I can now ollie stairs. If any of you are having trouble, find a loading dock to ollie off of first, it helps because you don't have to clear any stairs, so you can work on committing and landing and not so much of speed (you still have to have speed, but not a lot since you don't have to clear stairs). A tip for committing for ollying anything is to not think about it at all. Just think about when you're going to ollie and when to bend your knees when you land. That's it. The more you think about it, the harder it gets to actually do it. Most of the time the falls aren't even that bad when you do happen to fall (usually from bailing out mid air). I've fallen before and as long as you tuck and roll there is nothing to worry about. These are the things I do and have helped me. Good luck.

    Props Lance. I've been skating for two years and can't even ollie off a curb lol. Try to fix that wooden leg you got there. I used to push like that when I first started; everyone at the skate park called me Peg Leg.

    Lance probably skates a lot more than you. Don't get frustated and keep trying. You do something a lot-you get good at it. That's it. Thanks to Braille for motivating sooo much people to start skating! I'm one of those.
