Do you think you could make a video about shoes? As in what you look for in them, and some good vegan options that are also durable? I’m new to skating and don’t have them money to go through tons of shoes that don’t last very long.
A curb, five stair or a 4 block. It doesn't matter. You can do it, you just don't think you can. But in the back of your head you know all you have to do is just commit. I can't say anymore. Just commit
Bruh, people really have no clue how hard fakie or nollieing ANYTHING is. You're a shredder fr man. You really came with a perspective and a legitimate run down when it comes to trying to skate bigger sets. Awesome video dude !
He should change he title to "the secret to landing any trick" - because that part about "toying around with the idea of landing it" is what I see so often at the park. People throwing tricks up banks that they aren't consistent with on flat, and becoming frustrated. I feel like they would have so much more fun not trying to impress people. Of course I'm guilty of this too. I'm way more impressed by the guy landing every kickflip than I am by the guy who has been throwing tres all day and the board is just flying away.
I had a friend years ago who idolized Stevie Williams style. I don't think I ever saw him land anything ever. He would go up to a ledge, pop and the board would go out of control. He would roll back to us saying something like "yea i was trying nollie hardflip nosegrind".
My buddy noticed that I was kind of crouching a lot in noseslides so I started reminding myself to stand up on the ledge with my legs more straight and that's definitely helped me hold them longer
The tip about knowing when to stop is a great one! I am coming off a very long recovery in which I had to get surgery and stuff. It is important to know your limits!
Perfect time I got recommended this vid, I was trying to ollie this 6 stair and I just couldn’t do it, it was just getting to my head that if I was to fall and break a bone or clip the end and fall on my face, so I decided to take a break from it and practice my ollies, the bailing tips were really good advice
This video was so helpful!! I was trying to do a bigspin boneless down a 2 stair for 2hrs & 30min with only a few breaks & it got real toxic. Now i know to limit my tries & take more breaks so skating is more fun. Thank you! ❤️
i really enjoyed this video. as a 30yrold getting back into skating and just BOMBIN IT, ive hurt myself, but also had a lot of reward being fearless and randomly landing the trick first try. i try to be intentional with my foot placement and body mechanics. i love how you worded that. great vid!! BE INTENTIONAL!!!!
Hey brother this might be lengthy, but I gotta say that the way you explain the mental processes and how important it is to have consistency is something not everyone thinks about. when I was younger skating with my homies we’d all just fuck around and throw tricks down without the intent of anything. May be in the hopes of landing it by a struck of luck. You have put into words what I couldn’t pin down as a feeling “doing it with intent/with purpose.” I can’t tell you how many times I stuck a trick because I was better at bailing than committing to it. At one point one of my homies called me the “Stick King” couldn’t land big tricks for the life of me. Every now and then I’d get lucky and land a kickflip down a 9 stair or something but it never felt intentional. I’m 26 now and I’ve been skating on and off for about 13 years (life gets in the way, but I always want to come back to it) but I swear this past month I’ve been back it feels completely different in a good way, and your videos are helping me think about skating in a totally different aspect. Thank you for this bro! You’re awesome!!
Man you are absolutely amazing on a skateboard i could watch you skate for hours! Beast! I appreciate the time you put into these videos helping fellow skaters out thanks man 🤙
damn I just realized he lives in Texas. He's skating at my favorite skate park in this clip- 4:15 Now I need to keep an eye out for him when I'm skating there.
Great fall properly I’ve only done like half a step in 38 been skating/surfing fairly well often for 4 years, but I intend to do steps which is a challenge because I broke my ankle skating and the pain is still bad but tbh a good thing to say is that I’m not letting that stop me.
i needed this video, before i was able to ollie a 4 stair consistently then one day i got a massive mental block and ultimately became scared to ollie a 4. I can do a 3 stair but when it comes to 4's its just something i need to get consistent with 3's before i can go back to the 4
Biggest stairset I ever ollied was a ten. Almost kickflipped the ghetto banks gap. Kinda landed it. That’s like a ten. Reynolds Nollie back 180d it and fakie flipped it. Such a sick spot. North philly. I highly recommend skating there. It is so choice. 👌
Thank you so much for the tips. Do you have any videos how to start skating handrails? I feel like you have one attempt for that and if you fail, its over. How do you start with that and how do you progress, learn how to fall?
Hi inline skater here, trying to learn rolling down stairs and was curious what y'all do with them with skate boards, that advice seems surprisingly still applicable lol.
I would also say that finding your speed is a big part in skating stairs as well finding what speed is comfortable instead of just going as fast as possible
the only thing that messes me up is that im not too comfortable being in the air and i get air foot. i can ollie off decent drops but as soon as stairs are in the equation i cant keep the board under me. what should i do?
Don’t jump as much just kind of pop lightly but already be falling to the ground by then so that the force of your feet from falling make the board stick to ur feet
I actually respect that you can do the tricks! There’s this other guy on RUclips who talks just about skateboarding and he can’t even kickflip. Then he try’s to teach others and give them advice and he sucks and is teaching the kids the wrong things!
What to do after two injuries with the same ACL? Is that possible to skate stairs again? I have had surgery year after year for 3 last years on the same knee. I went back to skateboarding this year.
I taught a guy to Ollie in minutes. He landed a couple on flat and then went straight to a five set. He landed on second try. His secret hack is called commitment.
men can you give me some advice i feel i can do kickflip 3 stair's cause igot it on curve and 2 stairs i feel that ican do it but icant commit im relly scare when im trying to do the kickflip on stairs
That back 3 kickflip was mind blowing.
Watched that beauty back in extra slo-mo. Such a sick trick.
Btw I didn't mention shoes but having great shock absorbing insoles is going to help you tremendously.
Do you think you could make a video about shoes? As in what you look for in them, and some good vegan options that are also durable? I’m new to skating and don’t have them money to go through tons of shoes that don’t last very long.
Do you have any suggestions for good insoles ?
@@dragonblaze3419 From what I've seen FP make some amazing ones but never knew somebody who tested them.
Footprint insoles are some of the best. Also emerica and vans have good gel insoles on a lot of their pro model shoes.
Bro I just got some insoles and my confidence boosted tremendously. I never realized how much it was impacting me
Flutter in tummy is the same feeling I get when I'm ready to commit too. Usually for my skating it's a curb, not a 10 stair.
a curb????
A curb, five stair or a 4 block. It doesn't matter. You can do it, you just don't think you can.
But in the back of your head you know all you have to do is just commit. I can't say anymore. Just commit
Lyft x slappys maybe
The whole point is to have fun, not focus on getting better lol
@@roybatty4578 we all say that until you reach a certain Level of skill

these tips apply to more than just skating stairs, thank you for this 🙏🏻

You don’t know how much I needed this video, thank you 🙏
Omg I Needed this, When u get to a 4 stair it starts to get a little more serious
u dont even need to ollie when u skate 4 strairs
nope 4 stair is super small
@@curvela5268 well yeah but what i mean is you begin to feel more impact

The day after: “HoW To SkAtE StAiRs”
would love to see some tips on holding tailslides and noseslides! loving the content :)
My buddy noticed that I was kind of crouching a lot in noseslides so I started reminding myself to stand up on the ledge with my legs more straight and that's definitely helped me hold them longer
I put my front foot in kickflip position but jus do a Ollie on fs nose and it’s helped me hold them
The tip about knowing when to stop is a great one! I am coming off a very long recovery in which I had to get surgery and stuff. It is important to know your limits!
Your definitely the sickest youtube channel skater. Inspiring for real
Dude you’re hella good. I love your steez.

Damn .. your tutorials always make thee most sense ... U are giving us first hand info on proper shedding .. I really respect that

Lol “playing around with a 10 stair” my knees can’t be playing wit that
squat

Y’all make it sound easy , everytime I hail stairs it hurts a lot so I’m good
3:00 i see those gaps all time around town , that is my goal to clear those. Tre was sickkkk roll away
I skate stairs when I can and it’s good to have homies to motivate you
Thank you so much for the tips. Do you have any videos how to start skating handrails? I feel like you have one attempt for that and if you fail, its over. How do you start with that and how do you progress, learn how to fall?
Just kickflipped my first two stair perfect timing
good old san marcos skatepark. i knew ive seen you before lol can’t believe i randomly found your channel
So true the flutters are real but thats why we do action sports for the flutters! Great video skate hacks keep killing it!
I could listen to this... Orrr I could just keep trying the 5 stair before even trying a curb
wish more videos like this were around before I started skating stairs 13 years ago ,thenrails and then surgery lol good video.
This man is so good
dude thank u for this video man it helps to hear in others words those tips you said
Sick tutorial! The essence of learning right here!!!
Hi inline skater here, trying to learn rolling down stairs and was curious what y'all do with them with skate boards, that advice seems surprisingly still applicable lol.
The last one is so true, I rembember trying to varial a drop a while back and kicking every one out, even if i caught it good
I only skate quarters and flat bars for tje most part. Banks, mini ramps and boxes/ledges too so man i gotta do this
Great tips. Very good work.
Such a good Video; great job man!
I would also say that finding your speed is a big part in skating stairs as well finding what speed is comfortable instead of just going as fast as possible
this is actually solid advice ty mang
Awesome tips man. You are really friggin good
I swear you often pop soooo close to the edge! Interesting / master precision haha
Thank you I’m 31 and skating stairs hurt also do you got online part somewhere your style is amazing
puke13 29 turning 30 here lol. I know what you mean, us older guys trying to learn stairset tricks and handrails is way harder.
Great tips 👍 much appreciated
..These tips are gems.💎🤙
These are amazing tips man keep it up
First no cap i needed this video
the only thing that messes me up is that im not too comfortable being in the air and i get air foot. i can ollie off decent drops but as soon as stairs are in the equation i cant keep the board under me. what should i do?
Practice ollieing everything, especially flat ollies try getting them longer and longer. If you can ollie a sewer cover then you can ollie a 4 stair
Practice ollies going fast
Just commut
Don’t jump as much just kind of pop lightly but already be falling to the ground by then so that the force of your feet from falling make the board stick to ur feet
Wow! Great video!
Perfect timing bc imma do a kickflip down the funbox 4 today
Very useful!!! Hubba tutorial would be siiick
Great tips, 👌🙌🛹
I don’t even skate anymore but I watched this whole video💀 nice job
I actually respect that you can do the tricks! There’s this other guy on RUclips who talks just about skateboarding and he can’t even kickflip. Then he try’s to teach others and give them advice and he sucks and is teaching the kids the wrong things!
really needed this video, thanks!
Whenever I got to 4 stairs I feel like it’s a mental game cause going up to it is scary so you don’t think and go fast is it a mental game
Skateboarding is all mental bro, just remember YOU control the board, the board doesn’t control you, and progression, not perfection
Dude, i love your channel, wow
Where are these parks at? Specifically the one with the kicker to kicker and the concave manual pad in the background looks super fun. 4:35
Lmao I was thinking about getting back into skating stairs, havent been skating in a while actually
Thanks for sharing
Damn, you destroyed that little park gap!
Super helpful!

Woah it tripped me out to click this video and see my local park! What's up San Marcos homie!
Whoah, I was just skating stairs last night
still trying to work my way up to a 2 stair
I'm looking for specific tips on where to look when flip tricking down gaps.
that little 2 set at Jaws is the most fun set lmao
My jaw dropped when you hit the Jaws 7 🧍🏾♂️
What to do after two injuries with the same ACL? Is that possible to skate stairs again? I have had surgery year after year for 3 last years on the same knee. I went back to skateboarding this year.
is that jaws skatepark in new brawnfuls? I go there sometimes lol
These clips better than my video part
What park is that it looks so great
Thank you!
I'd love to hear the names of the pros you've seen who approached it with that impressive intention.
Kyle Walker and Evan Smith look like they approach nearly everything with the intent on landing it first try.
I taught a guy to Ollie in minutes. He landed a couple on flat and then went straight to a five set. He landed on second try. His secret hack is called commitment.
It's crazy what that 1 minute break can do
fam where's the skate part????!!!! You're way too good not to have an ill video part my friend???
Central Texas 💫
All stairs are is speed n commitment..as long as ur goin fast enough n are committing u should be able to ollie most stairs sets n gaps.
cool vid man. watching from nz . peace
I looked this up because tomorrow I’m going to try a big 3 block at my skate park and I’m scared and wanted some tips
yoooo that san marcos skatepark is home right there..keep shreddin
this man inspires me so bad
that giant stairset at the jaws skatepark looks so much smaller on camera. that thing is gigantic
Let’s see one on Nollie front Noseslide. I always hit the ledge on the way up. Same with Nollie front board
men can you give me some advice i feel i can do kickflip 3 stair's cause igot it on curve and 2 stairs i feel that ican do it but icant commit im relly scare when im trying to do the kickflip on stairs
comfort video
7:15 how did your nose not snap tho
Foreal my shit would’ve been done lol
He doesn't seem to weight much, really big difference between someone that weighs 140 and 160
The first set I ever ever sent was the 5 at my local
tre flips clean
Jaws, LBJ, Pearsall, House Park....... NICE!!! Some of my favorite parks
YOOOO AT 4:21 THATS MY LOCAL SKATEPARK,HOUSEPARK
Yo is that the skatepark in new bronfels texas i was just there i love it
Holy fuck that kickflip up to blizzard flip down
