P.S Sorry about the audio cut out before my nollie flip. Apparently it didnt render properly and i didnt notice till it was uploaded. I believe I said " im gonna do nollie flip becuase its more difficult for me than nollie heels". or something along those lines haha...THANKS for watching !
In cold weather, I store my board next to a heater. I have to skate in Northern Canadian winters that last 6-8 months. Sometimes on ice and in snow even. I found that storing my board next to a heater keeps my board fresh for months and my bearings stay reasonable. So far I have not yet had a broken bearing this winter.
Watching you flick and pop your tricks that high makes me wanna go out skate so much. Motivates me to focus on my ankle recovery so I can go out and skate and push myself again. This video was great really. More gaps and more fliptricks Tom! This is extremely enjoyable to watch.
Thanks for the content Tom. You're an experienced humble skater that uses RUclips as a motivation to keep improving on the sport... In the end we all win, because the content you put here is full of tips and knowledge from a pro skater. Been watching and loving your content. Thanks and keep killing it!
My new favourite channel on the tube! Been skating for over seven years now and your vids are super helpful whilst also being super fun to watch! Keep up the good work mate!!! Much love from Germany
Your channel is growing so fast man well deserved always super humble and a great personality behind the lens and not to mention great skateboarding since day one man 🖤
I love this dude Og pro with basically every trick under the belt and keeps it simple trying help the guys coming up. I love it, always gets motivated to skate. Thanks man I appreciate you Tom👊🏻👊🏻
Getting a good feel of the spot, before trying anything, is crucial. Under estimation gave me one of my worse bails. Me, thinking I'm a badass, just launched myself down a huge flight of stairs nearly sight unseen. Came up short, rolled my ankle near 180, smacked my head at the bottom on the sidewalk and slid on my face for about a foot. This is why even pros will ride up a few times and walk up and down stairs.
a lot of really good insights thanks tom. when i figured out keeping my head/shoulders centered over my feet (or at least...trying to) it leveled up my skating, it helps with pretty much all tricks...it makes you feel so much more balanced and in control and then landing comes more naturally..still learning to do it and save it deep in my muscle memory
I really enjoying watching you videos! I’m teaching kids in my hometown and your advices are very helpful (even for myself). Appreciate for what you’re doing 🙌🏼
man, i wish i had this type of skate advice when i was a kid. ..im 40 now. there were now skateparks, no internet to get tips from. just vhs slow motion was the only way to try to figure things out. .. you're doing a awesome job tom! keep it up. ... kids dont know how lucky they are for this content.
Ah no wonder there was no video last week 😉 All good Tom. This one was again insightful. Anyone aiming to skate gaps/stairs will definitely get something out of this video. Looking forward to that secret edit you couldn't talk about 😉
Glad to hear about the Nashville trip, I'm glad to have a fellow skateboarder going through this RUclips thing too, wasn't really getting an traction on the twitch thing
My new fav skate ripper...good looking sir just got back into skating from quitting in 2007 and you really been keeping me hyped to skate...apreciate u...and im 40. Ps fav skater from back n the day was Tom Penny/Kenny Anderson
I always loved watching the OG Baker dudes skate gaps...Reynolds, Greco, Lenoce. And then there's nothing quite like watching Penny just float over something.
Love your content man. Your attitude and approach really helps me progress, especially as someone who started skating at 25 with scoliosis. Every time I read your name, selective dyslexia kicks in, so thanks very much Tomato Pasta 😂😂
The part about knowing how to bail was the thing I wanted to learn back then. It works every time. Edit: New video idea, setup a new board, skate and the video goes on...
Before I watch this let. Me say this. What was a game changer for me was focusing on the landing in mid air. Made it so much easier. The ground didn't creep up. On me. Totally focus in the ground when olling gaps
I've been waiting for a video like this, great tips 🙏. If I had to pick a favorite gap skater it would probably be Chris Joslin currently, but Aurelien Giraud is pretty crazy too. Both throw down huge tricks down huge stuff.
Again man. You are killing it. I’m older than you and can’t even imagine having access to this as a kid. Just you being you and being real is awesome. Truly giving. We r all lucky. Keep up the good work
You called it bro. Reynolds was my fav hitting stairs and gaps. His kick flips and frontside flips are beautiful. Of course Tom Penny as well. The best steez ever on kick flips and frontside flips, and also switch flips and switch frontside flips. My good homie who passed when he was 17 had kickflips and frontside flips identical to Penny. I’m 38 now. He was 1 year younger then me. I always thought he would go pro. RIP Allen.
This was cool seeing every combination down the stairs. Mine is hodgepodge, I have nollie back heels and nollie front heels down stairs, but not nollie heel…but I can still nollie flip down stairs, or switch heel them. But not nollie backside flip, only nollie fs flip…It makes sense in my head somehow 😂
That heelflip head thing is a great tip. Heelfips were my go to when I was younger. I tried it over a gap and got really hurt. (Torn ligaments) ever since then they have haunted me for that reason.
Angle on the nollie back heel was great and then the nollie back heel on itself..Great style man...great to watch your channel. Also love the fact that you have a subject for your videos. Keep it going Tom.
Thank you so much for making these videos. This is 100% my dream content. These are super helpful and super inspirational. This year marks 25 years skateboarding has been in my life (I haven’t skated for some time cause of injuries and recently I be been in school). After school (in May) I intend to get a Christmas complete and skate my ass off for my 34th bday. Much love and respect!
bro is super pro my goodness.. pretty rare when audio cut outs dont bother me.. this is one of those cases just because i love watching you skate so much. also, theres always just something about a nollie backside flip off something that always gets me.. its such a sick trick to watch
Great tips man, that nollie camera angle was sick...fav. gap skaters/stair Chima , Herman, Mario can fly down some shit to lol, Joslin....there are so many I love
Videos are incredible. Nothing like this on the internet. 🔥🔥🔥. Next idea, frontside flip tricks or nollie backside flip tricks over trash cans on the side or barriers or something from flat. Like how to get them to rise to that next higher height.
My favourite gap skaters are: - Reynolds of course - Ryan Sheckler - Tommy Sandoval - Jon Dickson - Vinnie Banh - Kyle Walker - Chima Ferguson then there are: - Bryan Herman - Carl Aikens - Robert Neal - Miles Silvas - Trevor Colden not gap skaters per se, but when they skate gaps the style is just on point
P.S Sorry about the audio cut out before my nollie flip. Apparently it didnt render properly and i didnt notice till it was uploaded. I believe I said " im gonna do nollie flip becuase its more difficult for me than nollie heels". or something along those lines haha...THANKS for watching !
I honestly assumed you said something extremely obscene 😂
In cold weather, I store my board next to a heater. I have to skate in Northern Canadian winters that last 6-8 months. Sometimes on ice and in snow even. @@trashvomitstudios damn solid tip ! THANKS
@@jaredknapik 🤣🤣🤣
I agree Nollie heel is easier than Nollie flip
Tom Asta dropping that knowledge for the community, real one
& so much steez
