Karst formations occur when limestone in the ground is eroded away with carbonic acid from rain water to form caves. Thus, Karst rock is limestone, created from ocean critter waste products. It's made up of calcium carbonate, which can be ground up relatively easily. The company say they do that and then use a non toxic substance to make a paste that can be formed into paper. Seashells are made of Calcium carbonate, too. I'm a geology major who teaches earth science, loves crafting, and really loved hearing about this paper. Thank you for sharing. I'm glad they recycle the rock material, because limestone is a non-renewable earth product. You just can't grow it back again; takes thousands for years just to form. And we already take so much non-renewable product out of the ground that can never be replaced. Trees are renewable; they can grow back in a relatively short period of time. Though, it does use quite a bit of water to make paper from trees. No matter which way you go, there will always be consequences to the environment. I think it's great that artist like you have found ways to reuse what we already have. Thanks for sharing your craft!
Oh what nice with little squirrels. Thank you very much for notebook cover. Will definitely do some to have. Have a really good day and take care of you. Really likes to see what you have to do in the bookway.
Nik, I just made 2 of the library card mini-journals. One for the granddaughter's kindergarten teacher! One to give away. WHAT FUN! Great way to use old library cards! Thank you so much for sharing!!!
I thought I was the only one with that closet problem! The harder I diet, the worse I get. But that is a different story. These are a great idea! I like watching you ramble and make cool things!
The ROCK book is amazing. Thank you for the freebie and the video for these cute little notebooks. Hugs. I am like you I LOVE staples and I have a long arm one that I order online - its amazing
Wow! A book made of rock!!!! Love it! Thank you so much for the printable! I plan to make one of these booklets for my personal nature journal! Very cool! Thanks for sharing!
THANKS FOR SUCH GREAT TIPS/IDEAS-I REALLY MEAN THIS-I SO ENJOY FINDING NEW WAYS TO USE WHAT I ALREADY HAVE-YOU ROCK ,AND THANKS FOR THE DOWNLOAD-I WISH YOU A VERY BLESSED DAY-HUGS FROM ME,AND PATCHES-MY KITTY-SHE LOVES HELPING ME CRAFT-SHE LOVES TAKING HER PAWS AND MOVING THINGS AROUND-LOL
It occurred to me that you could keep these little notebooks in your purse and when you have your kids or grandkids with you you could hand them one of these and a pen to keep them busy. These are precious!
Really cool.. and yes! I see I am a tad late in offering a tip... As Rebecca Combs below here says... open your stapler up... and staple your opened up booklet perhaps on top of something a little 'spongy'... like a piece of cardboard box...or a cork placemat.... and then just flip booklet back round and close your staples... less awkward!
These are so cute...I got my long arm stapler from a thrift shop and I have seen them on Offer up a lot and Goodwill many times. Thank you so much for the digis...they are great. Hugs and blessings 🌴🌞🌵🌺
Thank you Nik for your generosity. Stone paper sounds great. I have struggled with my love of the simplicity of metric and the beauty of imperial measurement for most of my life. Metric is so easy to work with but its not very romantic. "Walk a kilometre in my shoes",Give him a centimetre and he'll take a kilometre. And if we covert a ten gallon hat to metric? Love the postcards too, beautiful.
I knew you were the best....Cause Too funny I just scanned postcards and library cards for journals.. My daughter just gave me her stone book I love it but can't put it down. Using it for the guys field notes books so they can write in the wind or rain, fishing or hiking.
I used to have a Stone notebook from Walgreens and LOVED it so much! I'm going to have to search out this company!! It truly feels amazing, doesn't it?!
Thank you for the download. Very sweet of you and great video, as always. YES! The metric system is so much easier to use than our standard system and easier to remember than all of our crazy measurements. Love your videos.
Brilliant and adorable tiny journals. These would also great to use in tuck places in a larger junk journal. (by all means get a long arm stapler. Not that expensive on-line)
Hi Nik, thanks for the printouts. Great ideas as usual 😎. I started making little notebook made out of card stock and any note paper I had. I made a whole bunch for my niece to put on the counter at her business. All I want her to do is put a note saying a notebook for a smile. Kind of geeky I know but I thought it would be a nice idea.
Love this...I love all your videos!! You keep my retirement days so busy making stuff. It's such fun! Long Arm Stapler...just got one at Amazon. Very inexpensive! I love, love, love it!!
Great ideas, love the library card & old postcard download. Thank you SO much for sharing. Also, I'm so happy to see that everything doesn't always work perfectly for other people. Sometimes I think it's just me. :) Thanks again.
You are so cute. Open the stapler, put the paper down on a book or a squishy pad. Push down where you want the staple. Lift gently and then smash down the prongs on the other side.
Rebecca Combs yes I saw somebody else use that idea I still think I'd like a long arm stapler and you're right my kingdom for a stapler I'm going to have to look on the Amazon I think x
Oh Nik you just made my day ... thank you ! It’s been 1 of those weeks and I really enjoyed this you tube to get me thinking fun not stressing out about other things . So cute I’m going to make a few just cause !!! Thanks a bunch for the downloads !!!

Nik you are so kind, and so generous and I want you to know I appreciate that so much. I am going to so enjoy those. you had me cracking up when you were on your soapbox but you probably hear me yelling yeah yeah behind you. your videos are such a joy to watch and I just luv ya!

You are so funny Nik... I love your videos not only because of your awesomeness but also because of you being so funny and down to earth! You are awesome girlie! 😊 💕
I have a Xonex stone journal and the one thing I didn't think of was how heavy it would be...clearly a DUH moment for me being it's made from rocks! 🙄 It is a little heavier than a paper journal and there is a coolness to the touch of the paper which is pretty neat.
Cute ideas. These would be cute reunion favors. You could print info on the pages inside. Add old photos. Or even do a family quiz. Where family members have to collaborate to find the answers. Hmm... I actually have 2 long arm staplers. Because i misplaced the first one. ;-) Found it later standing vertically in a closet corner. I made family address directories (5.5”x8.5”) for a family reunion project. I bought mine from Amazon for $15-$20 with Prime 2 day shipping. They have a swing arm style also. It’s shorter but gives you good maneuverability.
Long-arm staplers are wonderful! I broke down and purchased one about ten years ago to make pamphlets. Best investment! ;) Thanks for the great idea, Nik!
Omg♥️♥️♥️Love love love this video....Some cool and neat ideas to do with my stash 😂😂..side note..when I was 17 in 1985🤔..my after school job was typing the card catalog cards on a manual typewriter 😂😂😉🤗..TFS♥️♥️♥️

Trees are a renewable resource. My husband is a graduate forester, and he has put up many timber sales. Now they’re ready for harvest now.
You are such a breath of fresh air to watch create! Thanks for the printable

Hi Nick. You don't need a long arm stapler! You can get staplers that staple sideways!!! They fold to the size of a normal stapler!!!!
Thanks so much for the download and fun notebook ideas! I really want to feel that rock paper. :)
I like staples too. I like the colored ones also. :)
Cute ideas. These would be cute reunion favors. You could print info on the pages inside. Add old photos. Or even do a family quiz. Where family members have to collaborate to find the answers. i actually have a bottle of Elmer's Washable Clear Glue that I bought at Wal-Mart. If i use a plastic card and spread it thin my paper doesn't buckle.
Hey Nik. Fun project. I have “tons” of mini index cards. We’ll see what I can create. Thanks for the digi download.
