I seldom do a revisit on posting a comment....(never mind..lol...I just noticed my first comment has disappeared) but...I made a bunch of these today....and they really ARE the answer to the annoying issue of having little bits of paper that are too pretty to throw out and they also redirect you from cutting into a full sheet of paper, for that perfect lil bit you want.
I made 6 of them...and they are semi colour specific. Blues, greens and teals.....reds, pinks and oranges...black and whites...yellows, golds and oranges....browns, beige and ivory......kinda like that.
This is one of THE best scrap access solutions I have ever seen....and they look darned cute even when they lay out in the open on your workspace. And they need to, if they are going to serve their purpose.
Thank-you again for sharing this brilliant (and cute as pie) solution to a common problem.
I'm concerned that they are SO cute, that I may start ripping up perfectly good FULL sheets of paper, just to make more....lol
I have a tip for you. When working with bakers twine or embroidery floss or any thread type that can unravel, place a dot or two of book binding glue (art glitter glue, tomboy mono multi, whatever) on the end you're threading and roll it around the tip. With your first two fingers. It will dry stiff and make the tip into a needle. Then just snip that tp off once you're project is threaded.
What a fabulous idea!!!!! So cool to share with other crafters in happy mail or workshops, etc. The ideas are endless. Thank you so much for sharing this lovely idea!!!
I've been binge watching your videos (newcomer to junk journaling) and I have enjoyed all of them, and listening to you. I think it is really nice that you added yourself in the other screen. I mean it's nice seeing the person who's talking. 😁 Thank you so much for being an inspiration, and sharing all of your creations/tutorials with us!
Love this idea! I have trunks, boxes, crates full of (hoarded) papers. I’m 64....I figure I can sort through and create these adorable samplers by the time I’m 90! No kidding...I’m thinking we could do them in color collections. Yeah, I love it! Thanks soooo much!

, I’ve only been doing junk journaling for about a year now and I have enough scraps to last 2 life times. This a great idea about sharing with others.
What a terrific idea for scraps. I love it! I have 3 boxes that I just sitting and waiting to find a home. I would love to do a swap with anyone interested! This would be a great idea for my kiddos in students. They love little books of scrap papers. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful idea. You are absolutely a joy to watch. So cute!
i would love to do a swap with you. linda email me at lschillers@aol.com

Ok dear lady, no. 1: you need a ruler and no. 2: thank you for the stapler and such hints before you grabbed your cropodile for those of us that don’t have one. This is an awesome project and would be great for organizing coordinated colors together too. I love the sampler book swap idea. Loved your video.
A wonderful idea! Now I know how to store all that garbage I'm sorry to throw away. Organize and this is not garbage, and you can give, and even sell.
And you are adorable Nik.
Genius use of scraps Nik! Swapping with friends just adds the cherry on top of a brilliant idea. You’re the Best :)
Nik you look exactly like I imagined. I loved this idea, and you do make me giggle. Thanks so much for your videos, you showed me how to make books, and I'm starting to get addicted. Hugs xxxxxxxxx
Nik, I have a great idea for not threading a needle but having a tool to make it easier to thread through... a floss threader for dental floss. Works like a charm and not too hard to do.
Thanks for all your great ideas! Love your books!
My last comment was at the beginning and now I've just watched the whole video... SO cool! I LOVE the idea of making a bunch to send to different crafty friends! so so cool! you are one of the best Nik! Thank you!
Fabulous crafty area! So love that split screen! Fun to put the facial expressions with the exclamations. This diy is such a cute swap idea and great way to use up those scraps. Tfs & Happy Crafting!
Fabulous idea! Brings the neat Virgoishness out! Thank you and always great to see your lovely face 😉😘
This is a great idea for two of my granddaughters who love playing with papers this is ideal for them. Thank you
I think it's a nice gift idea! You know, we all love someone else's papers and scraps (it doesn't matter if we have three boxes full of papers ... always those of other people are cute hahaha). I would like the combination of paper and fabric and laces ...
I think sometimes there are unnecessary projects but they are so beautiful that it doesn't matter. Being happy is the idea hahaha ...
Your ideas are always lovely.
Regards
I want to not look like a hoarder.
Ergo - I want to make this! 😂😂
Great idea Nik!
Also I'm the same with cleaning up at the end! It MUST be done.
Great! I have also seen these booklets referred to as “tear books” because the receiver will tear pieces off to use in their projects. Love your new crafting space!
Oh my gosh I love these little sampler ideas! Can’t wait to make a few! Also I am making some junk journals as grief journals and now I can add a few of these sampler books with the journals I give away.
A small tip that really works for me Nik, I add a dot of glue to the end of my bakers twine or twine or whatever and roll it between my fingers….the glue holds it together and even makes it a bit stiff so it will thread through the hole easily! You don’t even have to wait for the glue to dry as it absorbs right away into the fibers. Give it a go and see how you like it! It works awesome. Karen
Super idea for scraps Nik ! ! I hope you leave the live shot of you in the video, it's so cool to watch your expressions. Take care and I hope your day starts to run smoother. I know the feeling. LOL
SO cute!
What you said about trashing the room then cleaning it, is exactly how I am too! I cant think about he next thing until the first thing is cleaned up...
Fun idea to send off to crafters you watch as a RAK/ Thank You for their sharing their creativity. Thanks Mik.
It is so cool being able to see a face! When I first started watching junk journals/book making on utube...it felt so weird only watching hands and hearing a voice. I understood why...so we can see what you are doing...but this is so much better...having a face. Great idea. Plus, some of the tubers never show their face, so we have no idea what face to put with that voice...and hands 🤚. Like with you, we had seen your face a few times so we could imagine you talking...but this is even better. I hope more catch on to your ingenious idea💡
Roll with you there Nic, do a project and explode during the process, finish, clean repeat,. Thank you for sharing your cute little scrap book
Loving the new camera/view setup Nik, your room looks awesome and makes me want to go and tidy mine haha!
I work in exactly the same way as you, EVERYTHING gets pulled out when I am working on a project (whether I need it or not) and then once it's finished, OCD kicks in and everything HAS to be spotless again until the next projects! Doesn't matter whether I am working on JJs, jewellery, beadweaving or handstamping, it always looks like a toddler has trashed the place lol.
I refer to it as organised chaos!! xx
Lovely idea for people who loves paper and I think it would be nice to make one using fabric too. Love those labels Nik😘
Good to see you and love your ideas. Creative frenzy: nice to have a name for it, I live it. Your room is beautiful, looking forward to more videos. Thank you.
Brilliant...absolutely brilliant! Love this idea Nik and it’s something I can actually create while my new craft room is being remodeled. Love seeing your beautiful face while learning from you. Thanks for sharing your crafting genius with us 😘💜
Love the double camera views! And the project is awesome and easy to do. Thanks!
Brilliant idea Nik, I just love the little covers and stickers that go with them! 👍🏻😃😃
Love this Nik. I made little notebooks from assorted vintage ephemera sheets that I included in a journal I made for my crafty friend Gayle Agostinelli in August. Love the idea of doing a swap.
You rock Nik! So nice to see the face that goes with those ever so talented hands!
Enjoyed very much your amazing room. Not the counter but those old beautiful cabinets and files! Btw having your face makes more cute to follow your ‘artistic’ vein flowing. Tks
Really great idea! Saving this one to my "don't lose this video" list. :) Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Genius! Nik you're litteraly saving my life with this idea! I've got a ton of little pieces of scrap everywhere and I moving in a few weeks, so I was like "I don't want to throw them, but how can I stock them?" and it's a perfect way to do it! (and also a perfect gift idea for a journaler) Thanks for sharing!
How cute, great idea. So easy too I love the fabric addition to. I like this book because it's easy to make and I don't need fancy tools. Love seeing your Pic in the corner.
Love this and the idea of trading with friends. These would be great as a scrap insert for a TN. Please keep the face cam. It's great.

Love love love this idea! I mean really, we all have tons of scraps - how fun to share and receive! You have the best ideas!
I'm keen to give this a go, I might add a sheet of acetate with some strips of washi too 🙂
Very cool idea Nik! I love this and I am gonna use it! 😀 TFS lady! 💜💜💜
I’m loving this idea and thinking of making one to fit in my personal sized travelers notebook....that way if I am in a place where I am waiting, waiting, waiting! i will have something to do!
great idea. I do have parts of my house that looks like I'm a crazy hoarder. I'm always thinking what else can I do with this thing - often what others think of as garbage. I am inspired.
You are so creative. I love your process videos and you teach everything so well
What a great idea as swaps... mix it up between all your journalling friends, thanks Nik xox
Love this.. I have always wondered what to do with scraps and this is perfect.. I am going to make some... Thanks so much Nik for always sharing...
Super cute idea! I am absolutely the same about starting with a clean space!!
I like seeing you're face !! Thank you for an entertaining tutorial, you always make me chuckle xx
Great idea your little "It Ain't Trash!" book. It's what I say when someone, my daughter, says why don't you throw that away? So nice to see picture in picture too. I have no idea how most people look that I watch all the time.
love your idea of a scrap sampler booklet swap! great idea and a fun way to share your cool stuff with others and get their neat stuff too.
helpful hint; when you need to push twine or string or even ribbon through small holes; take a few inches of floral wire and bend it in half, now you have a loop to draw string through holes so fast, like a needle threader for bigger stuff. I started doing this when making rosaries for missions, cord pulling goes far faster than pushing it through as it frays.
♥️♥️Love Love this idea..I got 2 boxes of really pretty left over wedding invitations from the thrift store..had no idea what I was going to do..but now I'm going to make them into scrap sample books 💃💃💃.. wonderful idea🤗🤗🤗
Love this idea Nik! Love seeing you and love the new room!

Hi Nik! I’m new to junk journaling, and I am so happy that I found your channel!! So many great ideas and you really make the projects far more fun to create. I love the idea of the Scrap Sampler, and swapping! Now I have something to do with the scrap paper that will make my room a little more tidier - and more fun to tidy up! (I can’t stand working in a messy area). Anyway, I love seeing your pretty face and love your videos!
Oh, please let "the face" stay! I do love the hands ever so much, but to get both is MORE than the sum of two parts!
SOOooo cute, these Scrap Sampler Books -great idea! You da best!
I love these - enjoy the paper madness - how we just love it in any form - a little crazy but amongst people who ‘get it’. My messy room has to be totally tidied before each project too - have a fun day xx
Love this idea! I have a ton of scrap papers, fabrics, etc., so definitely going to make some. Funny how we always end up keep our scraps! I know that I have a hard time throwing scraps out! TFS!

Love the idea. I also clean and organize everything in between projects.😀💞
Such a great idea Nik! Love the face. It's a keeper. Lol! Thanks for the stickers to print!
I think it's a good idea. I have scraps of paper in boxes and trays everywhere. That way I can have them at the same place.
Love this idea. Probably not one of us likes to throw anything away LOL so let us get busy with this idea and do something absolutely fun with them!

😄🐿 you are most welcome, Leslie!
Love this idea. I love seeing you on the video also. Tfs
These are great. Kind of like mini Flows. Thanks for sharing.
I'm most often hesitant (embarrassed) to add tips to what somebody else does...but I think I'm going to make an exception.
Two things that make the binding so much easier, is that I use a paper clip for threading. I pull up the short end, (so it looks like a big wonky 'S') and squish the loop a little bit so it fits through the hole, and use it like a needle threader. You don't even need to use the loop like a needle eye...you can just slide your twine under the loose end of the paper clip and pull it through the hole. (if that makes any sense)
The second thing is....when you tie the knot (in the center hole)...when you do the beginning part of your knot...put the end of your twine through twice and then pull. It won't slide or 'back off', so you don't need to use your finger to hold the center taut while you do the second part of the knot. (was that clear as mud...lol) Hope it helps SOMEBODY....anybody. =)))
I'm going to see if a couple people from a group I'm in on Facebook wants to swap these! What a cute idea! Thanks for the inspiration. :)
OMG love the new camera setup! And totally will give this a try. I have tons of scraps!
What a great idea! Im going to make some, they will be perfect for when I go crafting at my friend's house! 💕
Yeaah what a great idea. I'll get into it right away 😊
Hey, and you know what?....you are one beautiful lady 😊
Nik, as always, a fun idea! Thanks for sharing.
I have a little helpful hint :) This is something from my childhood days... remember when the plastic would come off your shoelace and you couldn't lace it because of the fray?? Well I would put some tape around the tip to make it sturdy and then I could lace my shoe! Where am I going with this??? When you are lacing the baker's twine through the holes, you can put a little washi tape, masking tape, etc. to make it sturdy, thus making it easy to lace! Then when you are finished remove the tape and wallah! (SPELLED??) lol... Anyway... It may make life easier for someone :) BTW... I love your quirky sense of humor and your creative ideas! Thank you!
Great idea Nik. Maybe using a tapestry needle to thread your bakers twine in and out the holes maybe a little less frustrating.
great idea, and I loved seeing your face. Your craft room is beautiful. I aspire to make mine look half that nice one day. lol
Like #197, Milwaukee says hello....like the pic-in-pic Nik.....keep it going.....it's good to see you. Great project as always!
Thanks for your creatieve ideas. Love your craft room.
SCRAPS = Some Cool Remainders After Play Sessions!
Well now that's a dandy idea! How many of us are knee (no waist!) deep in 'precious' scraps that need to be disguised/ordered/disposed of somehow! Awesome share as ever Nik :) xx
Love the idea! I have thrown some scraps in a bag for the recipient of a JJ to use. But the scrap sampler is the bees knees! As my scrap collection get bigger Swaps and RAKs would be super fun! Btw the picture in a picture is great!
Awesome idea. One could colour code your scraps so then if you looking for a colour, you just grab that book x.
Nik, these are SO neat! They made me think of when I was little and would ask the local paint store for their outdated wallpaper books. I'd use some to cover my school books, and make 'stuff' out of the rest.
Something to try when sewing with twine or anything with plies, you can put a little white glue on the end, and shape it to a point, It makes threading so much easier. Off to make some mini-samplers, thanks Nik! :-)
artsfarm studio I still ask our local paint store for their old wallpaper books and the last time, they gave me 3 books. They even took my name and number, so that when they have more books, they will call me. As if I need more paper!!!
There's NEVER enough paper! LOL
artsfarm studio thanks for that tip 🤓
That s a good idea. Thanks and your room is just well orgenised😉
I really like this idea! I have tons of scraps that I've been trying to use more of, and recently I've just been keeping a little tray of a few of them on my desk. However, this seems like it would be a good way to keep everything contained even more so than it already is, and I can definitely see myself using a scrap solely because I want to break into one of my samplers. Thanks for sharing!
You are fantastic. Just found you through this video. New subscriber here. Many thanks for this great idea. ❤
It is a great idea to do as a swap!!! I’d love to do that.
Hi Nancy - I love this idea and would love to swap if you are interested. I am in Ottawa, Canada. You can email me at creativeblossoms@rogers.com
I would like to swap, too. I'm from Germany.
Hey Nik. This is very cool. I watched the new studio tour video and it looks great! What a big space. Peace
This is freaking genius! I love the two angles! Great video!
Cute idea! Great swap idea! TFS for the inspiration, Nik!
