Thank you so much for taking the time to make these incredible videos. Your coverage of worlds last year inspired me to compete in my first speed puzzle competition this year!! ❤❤❤
Agreed. It did the same for me. After watching her coverage of 2023 JPWC I went to the Spanish nationals this year, and then I even participated in the World Championships (but I hadn't got to qualify in any event, even if I finished all my puzzles inside the given time limit 😅). Thank you for your wonderful work on these videos, Karen. A job well done.
First of all, anyone accusing you of cheating or being entitled or whatever should have a puzzle thrown at their faces to see how they like it. 😤 Second of all, AMAZING catch! If that had happened to me, it would've hit me square in the face, broken my glasses, and I would've started crying immediately. That you then went on to get a spot in semifinals after all that is even more amazing. 🧩And third, what a cool video overall! Such fun to see some very impressive puzzling, excellent teamwork and admirable sportsmanship. Well done to EVERYONE! 👏👏👏
Totally worth the wait, Karen! I had no idea the "wrong puzzle" mishap had caused such a scandal, like how would you not have immediately realised - you had just seen other people do it on the last round. People on the internet are wild! As always, top quality video, glad to be your supporter, hopefully you get to take a long good break during the holidays. ❤😊
I've yet to finish the video, but the editing so far has been great. Like, the flow of all the quarterfinals is really keeping me engaged. You really picked out fun drama to focus on and go through the puzzle strategy well.
Oh my gosh I think I would have broken down had I been in your shoes during the “wrong puzzle disaster”. Wow extreme credit to you Karen for maintaining your composure and finishing with an amazing time!
Oh my heart! That montage of finishers from the quarter finals. Thanks for introducing me to this amazing community. I can't wait for the Australian national competition next month. 😊

Never thought I would watch someone else do a puzzle let alone watch over 1 hour! Yet you did a great job on this documentary and I am just taken in by how friendly all those participents and spectators are !!
Thank you foryour hard work! I really liked your editing! Even though I watched it live and saw other recaps, I watched the whole video because you really succeed to keep it interesting. I like how you use your own commentary and other audios, combined with videos from the livestream to create an overall narrative!
waiting weeks and avoiding spoilers from the actual competition was so worth it!! thanks for these amazingly edited recaps Karen, and Im looking forward to the next vids!!
I really enjoy watching your puzzle championship videos, you do such an awesome job with the editing, music and graphics, I really love all the work you put into these 😊 I have edited a few videos myself when I was in high school and I hated it, it took such a long time to edit even a 10 minute video, so I cannot even imagine how much time went into editing over an hour long video. And there are even more videos to come. Thank you very much for your hard work ❤
At us nationals each bag had a different color sticker on it that way someone really couldn’t get the wrong puzzle I’m surprised worlds didn’t do the same thing.
We talked about that afterwards and hopefully they'll implement it in the future? They definitely double checked all the bags for the rest of the competition.
Such a treat to watch this! Just the right time to release it, enough time has passed since the competition and watching the livestreams, and now one can watch it again, looking back at it without the feeling of repeat!
I had so much fun following the Championships this year too, and this video is such a good summary? analysis? celebration? of the quarterfinals! One of my favorite moments is the puzzler at 47:51 being fanned with a huge print of their own face 😂
Last year I watched the live stream and wasn't that interested in your videos once they were released - but this time I specifically waited for your videos. The breakdown of all puzzlers with their times is so cool to see, I love how much time you put into these videos! =) Can't wait for the next one!
The video and editing is amazing! Thank you so much for your hard work! I love the addition of the compilations of many people finishing - so many real happy emotions. Wonderful work as always! I look forward to the next parts!
Great video! Kudos, you kept me glued to the screen for the whole length 🥰. I'm looking forward to the next one. Two things stood out for me. Starting at 46:40, when you showed us finishers right up to the end of their qualifyers. And that suspenseful bit with cinematic music starting at 1:04:25 😅.
your time and effort on these videos is so appreciated karen! i do think that they should ensure fariness for everyone on the difficulty in each group, because you can't really compare such difficult ones to very easy/fast ones.
This video has no right been this entertaining and well edited, the graphs are colorfull, accurate and well presented; the comentary is fun and interesting and made me watch and hour of a competition a didn´t knew existed, every detail, the audio, the name graphs with the respective flags, the jumping between action, the presentation of important puzzlers with there backstories. It´s just so well produced and professional, amazing job.
special shout out to the ppl at the competition, as judges, volunteers, and competitors, who are still masking! esp in a crowded building like that with not great air flow, it's REALLY important. masking culture is even worse in europe than it is in the US, so i'm v impressed that they took their own health/safety & that of others v seriously! they're also almost all very high quality masks, too, so good choices & good work!
Right? I thought that was so thoughtful and responsible❤ Tbh, the whole world could take some notes from east asian countries! I know mask culture was already a thing in the east way before covid, but it was just out of common courtesy for your fellow human to cover your face if you felt a cold or something coming on, or say if you are on a crowded train. I know I started keeping them around the house after covid, they come in handy for a lot of things!
What an epic recap video! I can't even imagine how much work went into going through all of that footage and the audio files and then editing everything 😮 1.5 hours of pure entertainment - thank you Karen!
Oh, Karen, another stupendous video!! I didn't expect you to do both the individual AND the pairs quarterfinals!! It was a looong video, but worth the wait. I love that you insert little clips about lesser known puzzlers throughout - it makes it so special. Love your work!!! I think my favorite was the Spy x Family puzzle, just because it was so unusual for these competitions.
I love your coverage of this event so much! I'm not even a puzzler though I did buy a few puzzles and finished like 2.5 of them since watching your channel lol. I also love how the competition is heating up! I wonder if soon you can only sign up if you qualify from national competitions or if they will expand to a bigger venue to accommodate more people for the qualifiers. I love how supportive this whole community is. And I cannot wait to watch the semi finals and the finals!!!
Ya know, a few years back your channel randomly got recommended to me, and I never knew this was even a thing. Now, every year I get SO excited to see is Alejandro is still blowing everyone away.
You did so well to keep your composure, I would have been absolutely crying if I had gotten the wrong puzzle, had a box thrown at my head, not had it opened for me and watched everyone else puzzling around me feeling like I was so behind everyone else. Im crying just watching the happy faces of the finishers
Great job, Karen!! Your slow motion face catching the puzzle was amazing. And I love how you highlighted some of the stream commentary and interviews, it really enhanced the storytelling. Congrats to you and Tiffany! Also here's blind item for you 😘 One of the puzzlers in this video recently published a novel about a unicorn!!!! 🦄🎆💖

Sarah’s “This goes somewhere else. You figure that one out” had me dying 😂😂
We do that with my pairs partner too. 😂
@ Haha. Doing puzzles in a pair or team seems so fun. I wish I could do it sometimes 😁
Thank you so much for taking the time to make these incredible videos. Your coverage of worlds last year inspired me to compete in my first speed puzzle competition this year!! ❤❤❤
I love that!
Watching the reactions at the end of each round got me teary-eyed! I love seeing people so happy
Karen!!! Thank you, such good quality video and editing as always. Your hard work is showing through. So precise and neet, it's really amazing. Waited patiently and am not disappointed indeed❤
Amazing Job Karen, I did not expect to get my heart rate up again just as I watched it live on the stream. You made a superb commentator team with our beloved Valerie as well. Keep up the amazing work, love from Germany ❤🎉
i did not know there was a puzzle speedrunning community and i think thats kinda so awesome??? it must take a lot of skill to be able to organize all those tiny peices in such a short amount of time but the community looks very sweet, i really love niche hobbies like this being so totally embraced by a community
Thank you, that’s part of what makes the editing take so long 😣
@@KarenPuzzles Well, it was totally worth it!
waiting weeks and avoiding spoilers from the actual competition was so worth it!! thanks for these amazingly edited recaps Karen, and Im looking forward to the next vids!!
I really enjoyed the "finish" montages you had to summarize each round. Well done.
I’m genuinely surprised by the joy I got from watching people do competitive puzzles for an hour ❤ thanks for sharing this experience with us!
Thank you very much for your hard work ❤
I mean I can tell you, it’s all the time since Worlds ended 😅 Thank you!
I just love how people are cheering each other up when they finish the puzzle, it makes me emotional
Such a treat to watch this! Just the right time to release it, enough time has passed since the competition and watching the livestreams, and now one can watch it again, looking back at it without the feeling of repeat!
19:07 i love that the man next to Wronica took the few seconds to applaud
It always warms my heart when someone stops puzzling and claps for the person next to them 😭
I noticed that too!
There was a purple haired woman in the compilation that stopped and hugged her table partner when she finished.
This is one of the things I love about the puzzling community. I've always clapped for the person next to me and been clapped for. Such awesome vibes.
Yay, it's here! The amount of work you put into these is just mindblowing
I had so much fun following the Championships this year too, and this video is such a good summary? analysis? celebration? of the quarterfinals!
One of my favorite moments is the puzzler at 47:51 being fanned with a huge print of their own face 😂
I don't know if there's a story behind that but it was hilarious 😂
Last year I watched the live stream and wasn't that interested in your videos once they were released - but this time I specifically waited for your videos. The breakdown of all puzzlers with their times is so cool to see, I love how much time you put into these videos! =) Can't wait for the next one!
The video and editing is amazing! Thank you so much for your hard work!
I love the addition of the compilations of many people finishing - so many real happy emotions. Wonderful work as always!
I look forward to the next parts!
I waited so long for this video and I’m excited to see your view on the event after I watched all the livestreams myself during the event.
Such great coverage! What a spectacle! 🤩🥳 Thank you for your efforts Karen and Valentina. 🤗
your time and effort on these videos is so appreciated karen! i do think that they should ensure fariness for everyone on the difficulty in each group, because you can't really compare such difficult ones to very easy/fast ones.
Agreed! I know a lot of people went home with Covid (I got the new booster right before I left and luckily managed to avoid it)
Thanks for your hard work. What a fantastic video
Ya know, a few years back your channel randomly got recommended to me, and I never knew this was even a thing. Now, every year I get SO excited to see is Alejandro is still blowing everyone away.
was waiting anxiously for this video to drop!!! im ready with snacks for my sunday watch!!!
I hope you like it!
@@KarenPuzzles your worlds recaps are always a joy!! sorry that mishap happened to you but you did great regardless of that!!
You did so well to keep your composure, I would have been absolutely crying if I had gotten the wrong puzzle, had a box thrown at my head, not had it opened for me and watched everyone else puzzling around me feeling like I was so behind everyone else. Im crying just watching the happy faces of the finishers
So happy to finally see some of your hard work visualized! Amazing editing as always Karen 🥹💜
I love how happy everybody looks when they finish the puzzle!
Loved rewatching the competition with your editing! I really appreciate the time and effort you've put into making these videos. Thanks Karen!
oh I love every minute of it! There is so much passion and love to everything that was going on at this event! So nicely filmed and amazingly edited
Aaahh finally!! I saw most of the livestreams but your compilation is so captivating!! Such a quality in editing! Thank you, you are the goat in this!! ❤❤
I’ve been waiting and waiting for this! Thank you so much for all your effort and time spent putting this together! Puzzling at home is such a joy and relaxing. Glad I found your channel!
Thanks for all of the work it took to get these videos ready. So looking forward to watching them.
Who would have thought that a video about a puzzle competition would be the highlight of my month.
Amazing work once again, Karen! We all know how much time and effort you put into the World videos and it is so appreciated. So worth the wait. Thank you!!! Looking forward to your finals recap.
Thank you for making this video (and the ones to follow!) for us, I love watching them. I also LOOOOOOVE everyone's nerdy puzzling shirts, they make me so happy! Can't wait for the next video 🧩🏆
Hey Karen! Waited patiently for these videos! You did a great job! Props to the guy who threw the puzzle perfect aim😅😅😅
This is the first jigsaw competition I ever did and of course I was in Individuals Round B 🤣 Thanks for the great coverage, it was really great to see all the stuff I missed when I was focussed on puzzling! I was sitting directly in front of Weronika and I was not prepared for how distracting that would be 😅
I'm so glad you've included all the happy amazing puzzlers 🎉🎉 such an amazing video ❤
Great job editing Karen! Thanks to you I'm so inspired to try speed puzzling. You have shone the spotlight on the puzzling community and I'm so amazed at how nice everyone is. Great sportsmanship! Greetings from Malaysia
Yay, finally! I watched the entire championship when it was streamed and I've been waiting for your video since then! Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷❤
Congratulations on finishing this video, Karen! Your hard work has definitely been paying off as everything went together so smoothly! I'm looking forward to the next videos in the next couple of weeks! 😊
Karen once again you are a ray of sunshine with your videos! I feel like you are really hard on yourself if you don't win and I don't want to minimize winning but FFS girl how awesome do you have to be at everything?! You are the first YT channel about jigsaws that has any viewership, you're editing is beyond on point and the graph analysis (that your sister started you on - OG viewer here:) ties all the logic and emotion up into facts. Thanks for letting us watch your ride❤
Thanks again for all your hard work in creating these compilations, I wouldn't want to miss them for the world!
Incredible video and I love the celebratory montages of all the finishers. Just beautiful work 💙
Your editing of videos are always top notch! Cannot wait to see everything
The montage of everyone finishing makes me cry they’re so wholesome 😭 The way you edit and tell the stories of these comps is incredible
This year's level is insaaaaaane, can't wait to watch semis and the finals. thanks Karen for bringing us this vlogs with so much effort. :')
Your commentary and narration is the BEST. This is why I LOVE your videos. You do research! Edit! AHH SO GOOD
You made a wonderful video Karin. It's very entertaining, and wonderful for someone who wants to see what happened at the competition and didn't see the livestream.
Funny thing is.. I know "what just happened" since I was watching the championship live... and yet I am bitting my nails waiting for your videos! :D
"but what if its a picture of europe" HAD ME HOWLING. OH NO SARAH
Yeah... I definitely knew it in my soul
I had no idea competitive puzzling was a thing. Somehow your channel ended up in my recommendations, and I watched the whole video because your presentation style and absolute passion for the (sport?) make for a compelling story. Can't wait for the next two chapters!
amazing video! I loved watching this live, but having the recap, the data, the emotions, ngl I shed some tears watching this, thank you for all the effort you put in
"So then the finishes just kept coming in" while showing the finnish puzzlers finishing and Emilia yelling "No, the other way around" in finnish and beatifully swearing 👌 at 1:00:02
and a pretty strong expeletive 😂😂😂
Speaking of finishes: 45:20 that is normally not something a man wants to hear from a pretty girl 😂 But I guess it is a good thing in this case...
I don't know what you're talking about 👀 (I didn't know they were swearing so I used the RUclips Editor to cut that small clip because I want to keep my content family friendly. Including families in Finland.)
@KarenPuzzles She was just summoning the power of the ol' Beelzebub to get the last piece in 😄 I didn't even notice while watching, you had to really concentrate to hear it. I'm sure no one had time to take any offense 😊
@@KarenPuzzlesI get it, and it could've been worse. In my perception finnish people aren't as sensitive as americans are when it comes to swear words. But I know from one of Emilias videos that she did feel kinda bad about the swearing afterwards. I'm sure she prefers it this way as well. 👍
Wonderful video all around. Sarah is so funny! I have been accused of narrating my life, so I love her stream of consciousness bits.
48:01 The girl hugged her table mate to congratulate her when she finished, even though it cost her a few seconds. That’s so sweet and made me tear up a little.
