If you're not a well geared 60 you can still solo it and craft the trinket, you just need to bring an Invisibility potion and a Greater Fire Protection potion. Sneak through and lava jump to the forge, pop the fire potion after you've completed the lava jumping otherwise you will waste your potion and position yourself on the rim of the second and third grate before the forge. Have your enchanting window open, pop the invis potion and head towards the forge and when you are in range start crafting the trinket. It takes 30 seconds to craft the trinket, and it should take you about 3 seconds to position yourself so you should have around 15 seconds on the invis potion before the fire elemental starts attacking you once it ends. The elemental only does fire damage so the fire resistance potion should absorb the rest of the damage in time for the trinket to finish crafting, if it doesn't you should still have enough health to survive. Once it's finished crafting just die and res at Thorium Point. In total it should take you about 10-15 minutes to craft it solo once you are inside BRD.

I picked up the recipe for this trinket off the auction house yesterday for 4g 92 s. I couldn't believe my luck and most people in my guild had no idea what it's for.I also play a Druid Tank.

I successfully tanked BRD full clear at level 55, but it did take a while. Not a guild group, just pug. Thaurissan would have been difficult without the smoking heart.

I guess I'll have to drop a profession I've leveled for 50 plus levels, take up enchanting, losing a profession that's at 300 by now? Or do I just level up with only one profession?

Shenanigans, how could you have spent that much gold? I spent maybe 10g max lvling enchanting for trinket. I collected mostly everything i needed simply lvling to 60.

Not really right. You could have sold those ench mats instead. Real cost is 50+ gold realistically.
