Ben/Thing showing his true heroic self and protecting those ladies AND respectfully asking to "borrow" their car was the best. And the way he whispered "flame on kid" with a hint of respect.
People knock these movies a lot, but I enjoyed them, I'll give them a re-watch every now and then

Yeah, I enjoyed them too. I like the first one more than Rise of the Silver Surfer, but I thought both movies were decent comic book superhero films. Never bothered watching the 2015 reboot version. It didn't look or sound like it was very good.

I really liked these movies. They weren't perfect. But they were fun. And they captured the family vibe. And Ioan, Michael and Chris were great casting.
They were fantastic 😂🎉 I also loved how both films were shot a few blocks from where I lived at the time. Got to watch some of the filming at night and walk through the streets redressed as foreign cities. So cool. Wish I’d had a camera back then.

better than the 2015 movie... might be even better than what the MCU will be releasing in 2026 with their shitty writing the past few years. This Doom wasn't perfect but he's probably the closest thing we'll ever get to comic accuracy (next to the unreleased 1994 movie)

It was fun, goofy and had a good family dynamic. The only miscast was Alba. The rest were great.

This Dr. Doom honestly isn't as bad as the reputation he gets. I do think Julian was well cast. It's just that he was in the background too often for both movies.
Julian McMahon definitely nailed the arrogant and vain aspects of Doom.
I'll always defend this film, but they really turned Doom into a carbon copy of Osborn right down to the board meeting scene.
They should have gone dark with him, and let the real Doom out. Fant4stic Four took a stab at it and did quite well.
They should bring him back.

I still don't get how Pyro could stop him like that. Johnny generates fire from heating up. Pyro can only manipulate fire not cancel out Johnny's powers lol
@@brocKainHe was draining the fire that Johnny was creating in the moment. Johnny just didn't have enough time to flame on again before he landed balls first onto a billboard.

I always thought this version of the FF was closest to the comic. That 2015 nonsense wasn’t worth the time it took me to watch it.

I liked this Doctor Doom because McMahon portrayed very well due to his evil and cryptic demeanor. Only reason I rewatch this movies.
There's only one DOOM I trust. And he's a real villain.

this was not a bad movie or the rise of the silver surfer... just look at the last F.F. MOVIE.. SOME ONE DROP THE BALL...we never got galatus or the inhumans

I hadn't seen this movie in about 15 years since it had come out. It is better than I remember. Not great, but also not bad. I really enjoyed the more slice of life style origin for the team. It worked for me in 2024 with things way slowed down and them just trying to figure out their powers and go back to normal. Doom only being a threat right at the end felt like a real comic book. I liked that. I liked seeing them have traits and character that felt real for them in an adaptation. Do i wish the script was better, some more pacing sure. But I loved seeing heroes actually being heroes. They saved several people throughout this film. That doesn't happen as often as it used to. Heroes I think, should always have an action scene about saving people. There's several films where that just doesn't seem to happen anymore. Once the plot gets going, too bad. I noticed it in Spider-Man 2 as well with the train fight or the aunt may fight. Bystanders being in danger would shift and become Spider-Man's priority. That was the same with this film. Many MCU and DC films, once the major plot and fights start happening we don't have time for saving folks. Granted they save the day in the end, I personally really like when a hero has to stop pursuing a guy or winning the fight because a villain uses their morality against them. It depends on the movie sure, but i feel like unless it's a world ending event like infinity war or age of ultron (which even then they are still saving folks) we need to see more of it. I think iron man 3 has one of the best ever rescue scenes falling from the plane. This movie has a great one on the bridge. There's not even a villain, it's just a disaster, like in spider-man 3. Imagine if someone had the balls to make a super hero film where there is no villain. It's just the hero being a hero in everyday life and trying to balance their regular life with field work. We got that with Spider-Man 2 and ironically this was the next closest thing I can think of. Doom doesn't really become a problem until halfway through the third act it feels like. I like that.

Doom is basically Iron Man meets Doctor Strange but is also as intelligent as Reed Richards.
Electricity manipulation with his cellular composition being turned to metal in the movie from what i understand.
He also appears capable of channeling his electricity through metallic objects somehow
