  • My notes:
    -There are some oddball bolt sizes so make sure you have:
    T30, T60, E18, 6mm Allen, 16mm, 21mm
    -Get Etorx bits in ½” because the subframe bolts are probably seized
    BMW tells you to repair the following bolts:
    All 4 subframe bolts ( I highly recommend )
    All 4 bolts on the front subframe mount ( I highly recommend )
    Rear diff mount bolt
    All bolts on both V braces
    Torque Specs:
    -4 bolts on front diff mount - 120nm / 80 ft lbs
    -Rear diff bolt - 210nm / 15f ft lbs.
    -Vibration damper on rear bolt - 19nm / 14 ft lbs
    -Rear diff bracket - 120nm / 88 ft lbs
    -4 subframe bolts - 108nm / 80 ft lbs
    -6 guibo bolts - 55nm / 40 ft lbs (+ 90 degree)
    Parts:
    -4x BMW Repair bolts: 07147426660
    -4x BMW Repair bolt washer: 31336776760
    -4x Replacement subframe bolts: 33302284642
    -Guibo bolts: 26117527475
    -Guibo but: 26127536563

    This is pretty crazy bro! I need to have mine done as well! I usually perform all mods/maintaince work myself, but with how elaborate this is, I think I may find a shop that is able to do this!
    Great Video!

    Did that yesterday. Thanks for the tutorial. I did it even easier and didnt have to lose the driveshaft. With the press kit I just pressed out the old bushings from the front bracket while hanging on the drive shaft. Biggest pain was the opper bolt on the rear bracket... Car is now perfect :) No vibrations under acceleration!

      I'll be doing this soon and won't be removing the driveshaft as well. Hope this will take care of the rear clunk i'm hearing on my f80.

    The dual mount bracket looks a great solution, good job and tutorial. Is this job worth doing on a 2019 car with the later bush? Thanks

    Thank you so much for the video! This video definitely was the most straightforward install I’ve seen for this.

    Wow great work, if bmw says to replace the bolts may be TTY and stretch when installing

    You didn’t want to go with a bracket to raise the diff to keep the drivetrain angles in check?

    Thank you , Was the wheelhops elimintaded? And The "clonk" elemineted ? :) or maybe i will do the double bushing on the back diff ? Or maybe its overrated for dailydrive..

      The clonk is gone now. I don't think I experienced much wheel hop.

    This might be the one mod I don't have on my car. I'm jealous your quick jack doesn't bleed like a stuck pig.i love my single mid pipe and mad max exhaust.

    Thanks for the video! This is my next big project on the car. One question though. I was going to use 4 jack stands with BMW lift adapters, do you really like the quick jack for this work, or did it get in the way? (other than the first brace mention)

    • @tuned_auto
      @tuned_auto  Год назад +1

      The Quickjack is easily the best investment I have made as a car enthusiast so far. Well worth it and definitely not in the way.

    Are there any downsides to utilising both bushes on the rear of the diff?

    • @tuned_auto
      @tuned_auto  Год назад

      Depending on the bushings you use, the additional stiffness could introduce more diff whine

    Same procedure for F83? And how do u know whether or not to replace driveshaft?

    • @tuned_auto
      @tuned_auto  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes. You don't need to replace your driveshaft when replacing the rear bushings.

      @TunedAuto_Official subscribed to your YT and requesting to join your F8X owners FB group. I think I need to replace the bushings but have another primary issue in diff or driveshaft. . .or Trans 🤦🏾‍♂️

      @@GomesFPS negative… only way is to go back to OEM. 2018 LCI came with Poly bushings but I believe they have a rubber core. So I’d get those. Can’t really do anything if you have the red ones installed. I got used to it. At least they won’t go bad for a long long time.
