Had a similar issue on mine deacelration, turned out to be the prop bearing!

Can I ask you which particular bearing was giving you problems?
On mine 220i every time I release the gas pedal I hear a bad sound from the rear-center car, in the exactly moment I barely touch the gas pedal the sound stop immediately. Already checked the transmission

I had that issue. Replaced with a used diff, but better than ever😅

@@TimWilliamsHD I don't know exactly. I bought the car used with 38k miles. Drove it stock for awhile, addsd suspension mods, and tuned it. I think it may have been doing rolls on E85 with mdm or traction on which may have placed a ot of stress on the diff. The sound started as a small whine that only I noticed. Then after a year it became more audible and obvious when decelerating off throttle. It didn't really affect performance, but decided to replace it for safety reasons, lol.

@carsandcoldbrew6489 ah I see, most likely the same with me..I think the semi slicks gripping might have also added to it..I tried to drive in mdm instead of dcs off on my morning hooks but still too intrusive

@@TimWilliamsHD I remember reading on the WRX STi forums a long time ago that it was not advisable to drive hard with traction on bc it can break the differential, especially with more power. Wish I had remembered at the time. I sin e have coded euro mdm, but it's still a but intrusive, but better than us mdm.

Its one of the most reliable sports cars, all cars have issues, look at Apex's M4 used on the nurburgring for a few years
