Can confirm this technique is a game changer! I've had an annoyed Haglund's since changing my running shoes from soft heel counter to stiff heel counter, and haven't been able to run hills without aggravating it. I taped it today using this technique and had a run without it getting annoyed! Thank you so much.

Can you use this taping procedure after you have had the Haglund’s surgery

Hi. I am a regular hiker (doing the Appalachian Trail in sections) and I now have Haglunds on both feet, and sore achilles tendons as well. This looks great, but I doubt I could do this for myself (certainly not as effectively as you did).
    Questions:
Is it possible to buy an ankle "bandage" that is designed to support the ankle that would do the same thing?
What brand of athletic tape do you recommend?
    Thanks!

Thank you so much for this video! Just got diagnosed with Haglund's and I want to avoid surgery as much as possible. Being a runner, it is important that I able to run as pain free as possible.

@@marshel9884 no. But I've been successful with controlling the pain and discomfort by switching to shoes with a really flexible heel cup. With shoes that have a rigid heel cup, I've cut a v shape into the fabric and plastic to allow the heel plenty of flex without restriction to movement. Now, I rarely have pain and can enjoy running again.

@@minuteman2006 Hi I've recently been diagnosed with haglund's, just wanted to know what shoes did you purchase?

@@lukaskadziulis6015 Lukas, I am currently using the New Balance Gobi V2 as they have a very soft heel cup. Even then I cut a "V" into the heel cup to allow maximum flexibility and non restrictive movement of the Achilles. You can modify your current running shoe(s) and see of that works for you. Sorry you have this issue now but at least you do not have to settle with running with pain. I also do lots of single calf raises everyday as part of my warm up and cool down. Even on days I do not run, I still do my calf raises and also roll my glutes, hamdstrings as much as possible. They get pretty tight when I run on pavement. I tend to stick to grass whenever possible or gravel. Otherwise, I run trails and that also makes a big difference.

I can't see this as being a realistic solution for anyone with this. For one thing, that much adhesive on skin is pretty damaging (I know from personal experience), plus it would need changing quite a bit...
