We had a previous video of Ivan Khong driving the Lotus Emira up our favorite mountain - this time it is my turn.
Actually I drove first, and Ivan drove later - we published his drive first, because his face is fresher, so we thought you would enjoy his video more.

Teared a little watching father & son took some time off their busy schedule all for the benefits to us, the lucky audience! I would do this every weekend just for the bonding session. Couldn't be happier to able to ride shotgun with my 70yo dad or the other way round, taking my 50yo son for a good roti canal uphill drive.

Unker YS, thanks for this drive. Lotus has always been a real sports car manufacturer! No auto, no CVT but pure fun with a 6-speed manual. Take this car on a round peninsular Malaysia tour on A and B roads!

A great video YS. It's good to 'meet' your son Ivan, you taught him well. I hope his neck muscles and ligaments are OK as I saw him looking a little uncomfortable there in those high G chicanes. As always, the foot cam is much appreciated. Until the next time!

Yin Swan mate did it in approximately 12.5 mins.
Considering the fact that he had slowed down a couple of times due to slower cars and cooling down the car after SS1 it was still a respectable time.
With some left foot braking, minus the need to slow down for slower cars and cooling down after SS1, Yin Swan mate should be able to get it done within the benchmark of 10.5 - 11.5 mins without any issues.

As part owner of the Lotus, am wondering how much of it's technology are being shared with other brands in the Geely Proton partneship. Our Proton technicians have surely given Proton cars some boost in the ride and handling department. Are there others you might want to share so drivers here could learn just how much more they can benefit from owning Proton cars or Geely initiated models in the current line up. Thanks for any input and most times have enjoyed watching you giving reviews while driving up the Genting route.

You drive many cars. I am curious though, you enjoyed GR86, Mx5 and this car clearly. Which one do you enjoy most? I'm curious if spending much more money makes for a more fun car VS the other two
Every car is different. Recently I drove a 2004 Mini Cooper S, that only had a 1.6 Supercharged engine and it was very enjoyable too.

In UK, the price difference between 3.5 v6 and the 2.0 turbocharged is £4500 (RM29K++). In Malaysia, the difference is RM200k!! Hahahahhahaha

Hahaha, thanks. BTW there was no brake smell. Didn't use much brakes because we were not going all out.
