A few things i’ve noticed which doesn’t seemed to have been mentioned. LL had bad luck in Brazil when he was taken out by Piastri. Firstly it gave Yuki an extra position due to the penalty which in turn gave him 2 more points for nothing. It also lost Lawson time and position. What did Lawson do to get back in the race? He passed both Hamilton and Alonso in a single move. That’s 9 WDC between them being taken by a rookie in a VCARB. That is mental. Then he went on to hold off Hamilton for the rest of the race. Next we have AD. A charging Lewis get held off by LL for 10 laps. Longer than anyone else was able to do. Lewis finally get’s past him and what does LL do? Passes him straight back again. Unfortunately the VCARB on worn tyres can’t hold him off for long and he get’s passed again. But that fact he can execute moves like that is mind blowing. And then of course his pit crew drops the ball and the rest is history. Wheel to Wheel LL is no joke. People are sleeping on him. I think he will be a formidable second to Max next year. Loved the vid. Refreshing to see some objective analysis for a change. I think you’re bang on!
@@The123Orion123 you bring up some really good points! I honestly wanted to include a lot more but only being my fourth video I didn’t think people would watch a half hour deep dive haha! But I agree with the wheel to wheel, Liam looks to have incredible car placement, both when defending and attacking! Thank you so much for your comment mate!

Liam started formula racing 1 year earlier than Yuki (2015 vs 2016). Liam spent 2 years F3, 2 years F2, 1 year SF, while Yuki 1 year F3, 1 year F2. Career wise Liam is more veteran overall, and Liam was 3 years more veteran in formula racing when each of them first drove F1. It probably contributed a lot in the mental / psychological side of the training, e.g., self-restraint and temper.
Based on the Stats you have shared your commentary is very fair and I concur. Qauli is an interesting stat but as you say 100ths of a second in it and no pressure of cars around you and at times different set ups. The gap should have been bigger after 4 seasons for YS. So LL was in touch. On race day its 4 to 2 in this season in favour of YS. 2 races were were very close with 1 & 2 places respectfully. That could have gone either way but for poor pit crew performance. That did not go unnoticed by RB. LL did an amazing job in the Wet coming from the rear of the field to the front of the mid field, at one point running 4th momentarily due to Pit strategies of the top teams - That did not go unnoticed by RB. LL knows about setting up cars. He is hands on always doing them up so understands car dynamics and tweaking for performance. He understands his driving style which is break late to adjust cornering profile of the car and getting the power down right on the turn apex so he is in a position to pounce on any overtakes in the offering tyres permitting. Sound similar to anyone. That has the potential to win races with great judgement to squeeze the gap in racing. LL has a comms advantage of asking for what set up he wants over YK once at RB. Language barrier at VCARB was similar as the pit crew language English was a second language. I also understand we only see a fraction of the stats data that the RB executive have made the call to run with LL on. RB are ruthless money making machine and marketing juggernaut. They have supported LL for 8 years. To retain that LL has had to hit key goals/ milestones. If he had not he would have been dropped like a hot potato. As for the money - the best money is constructors money winnings. They receive it with no strings as opposed to sponsorship money. Also wining constructors wins you so much more marketing creds to play with. So all the tabloid comments that MV will chew up and spit LL out in the first few months of the season is just that pure tabloid mindless commentary for click bait views. MV needs a strong wingman to help win constructors. In so doing he also gets a shot at WC with a wing man running interference. So he needs LL to accrue points. LL is now in the best position to learn much access more race winning data and is now in a contending car. VCARB are unlikely to do better than 7th in constructors which they are capable of doing. They may even knock Aston Martin off their perch if Stroll stays there, but that is a big ask. That is the sad bit for YS and why he will leave VCARB and go to Aston Martin in 26 when they change to Honda.
@@JohnTattersall-y7f what a great comment thank you for sharing it! It’s really interesting comparing the driving styles Of LL and MV, maybe this will be the first time where that second RB seat isn’t going to struggle so much. Agree with Tommo here, but who would do the better job is unknown... Id give Yuki the shot but if he doesnt live up to the hype swap him and liam... and liam also gets more experience in F1 during that time... If Liam chokes i get the feeling Yuki still wont get put in that seat regardless

Yuki definitely should have gotten the drive in 2023 like you said! Loved the video, keep it up man! you'll reach 200 subs in no time! i hope Liam m does well in the seat, it would be a shame to see yet another driver be taken by Max AKA the grim reaper.
Great analysis and a great channel. Race pace is another metric that RB have based their decision on. But overall, I believe it’s the ‘ceiling’ that you talk about as being one of the most influential factors in their decision.
I think treating lawson like a full on rookie young driver may be under selling him. Arent he and yuki around the same age? Didnt lawson drive super formula and dtm? Point is he is more experienced than we are pretending and perhaps the expectation he crush lawson to get the seat was unfair. Also liam has been in the team this whole time as a reserve so it is really not apples to apples. When it boils down RBR didn’t want yuki and that’s all there is to it. These justifications dont help imo. Yuki deserved the seat yuki did his job yuki got passed over
I agree! Although he can be thought of as a “rookie” his CV is scary impressive! I did a video about all the rookies for next year (shameless plug) and Liam really stands out in it!
I don’t understand the trepidation of giving Lawson a full season in VCARB in 2025 and giving Yuki a shot at RB. Give Lawson at least a year to develop, his performances weren’t Verstappen in the 2015-16 TR to jump the queue. To promote Lawson seems like a huge unforced error considering what happen to Gasly and Albion in previous years
I would even say its a forced error, a set up for disappointment presented as a chance. RB created that curse of the 2d seat, by spitting out good f1 drivers like Albon ,Gasly and now Perez.
Given all data... They should have some respect for yuki giving him 1 year in redbull to prove himself given him spent 4 years in alpha tauri... He deserved a chance atleast
Yuki fan here. This is the most well-balanced take on Yuki-Liam drama. Thanks for the upload and good luck with your channel (I just became the 323rd subscriber to your channel!).
Thanks for the research you've put in Mate. Will be honest, I'm a Kiwi and very biased on this. I like Yuki but have watched Liam since he was in TRS down here. He's good, and aggressive. Maybe his style suits the car designed around Max which other drivers have struggled to drive. Also, I'd like to point out his tyre management. I am quietly confident he will do OK. He's has done really well too.
@@michaelcrane2475 thank you so much! That’s really cool to hear. I saw Liam speaking in an interview recently saying that he loves a really aggressive car that’s heavily weighted on the front nose, much like a certain Dutch driver! So I’ve got high hope for him next season. Tyre management seems to be something a lot of newer drivers struggle with but that hasn’t seemed to affect Liam.
You're right, Tsunoda deserved to be in the main team in 23 and 24. Even if he struggled it wouldn't make a big difference for them, considering how Checo did in real life. Then Liam could be in the B team much earlier. Red Bull should be more careful with their young drivers. Rushing them into the main team to be head to head with Max in a car that seems to be really difficult to master is not ideal.
Im glad you agree! I’ve not really seen anyone else talking about it that way. Red bull certainly haven’t been taking care of their young drivers and it does make me wonder If a lot of young drivers may pass up on the opportunity to join if they see no faith in the teams future!
Yuki was thrashed by Gasly in both 2021 when he TRIPLED his points, and in 2022 when he DOUBLED his points. Yuki was in discussion for being fired, not promoted. This was after Gasly was beaten by Max 249 points to 29!
@@Matt04108 better to try him in the top team than sit in a junior team for 5 years I reckon. Maybe he would have done better than Sergio, we will never know
@@Chrisgpracing getting promoted needs to be based on merit. Getting thrashed by Gasly both of the first 2 years, when Gasly had been thrashed by Max, meant Yuki was never in line for a promotion.
I like the way you provide a balanced view, none of the terrible commentary being thrown around by other F1 groups. A fair and compellingly view will keep an eye out for your videos. Wel done.
Good vid. I thought Liam's average qualifying deficit over the last 6 races was 0.07s, he out qualified Yuki in both sprint qualifying during this stint and his race pace was often a lot stronger. Made fewer silly mistakes. All in all, super impressive for a rookie. Anyway, nice work delivering a balanced perspective. Subscribed, all the best with the channel.
Nice job mate. Just staying with the facts and a logical argumentation (unlike most F1 fans and media theese days). Much like you, I believe that Yuki should've been promoted to Red Bull at some point. He deserved/deserves it. Perez was a loyal servant to Max and the team when they had the fastest car. He wasn't a great wingman like Bottas, but still decent enough. The reason they kept him for 2024 probably was that no one anticipated how much of a struggle car development and the internal issues would end up being. However, I disagree about Red Bull having many young drivers ready for F1 in 2023. Their junior program became a bit dormit in the late 2010s/early 2020s. After Gasly, there was really no one else ready to step up into F1 except Yuki and Jüri Vips. But Vips was left to rot in Formula Regional, after not being able to compete in Super Formula due to COVID in 2020 and instead they signed Jehan Daruvala to their junior program for F2. Daruvala was beaten by both his teammates at Prema in F3 the year before, being in his third season at F3 level, whilst Vips had beaten Yuki and both his teammates in the 2019 F3 season, finishing fourth in the championship only behind the Prema drivers, who were dominating with the best F3 team at the time. This was just one big mistake they made in terms of driver management over the last couple years. Signing De Vries really was their only option in 2023, since they basically had no one else ready for F1 at the time, with Vips being kicked out of the junior program in 2022 after using the n-word on a livestream. As much as I understand them firing him for that, I can also understand his frustration over the way Red Bull treated him at the time. Again, not an excuse for poor behaviour, but if you're annoyed about your career being ruined by someone else's incompetence, f*ck-ups like this might happen more easily. Though, after ruining a protential F1 career by placing an average F3 driver on their F2 program instead, Red Bull wasn't done yet: They brought back Daniel Ricciardo, who adapted poorly to the McLaren in 2021 and even worse to the new regulations one year later. And they did this, despite having Lawson as a Super Formula title contender in his rookie season on their junior team. But wait, it gets more ridiculous: Even after they had seen what Lawson was capable of, Ricciardo was brought back in and kept for 2024. Lawson meanwhile was just sitting there, being test and reserve driver instead of accumilating actual F1 experience. And now, they put Lawson in the Red Bull. With just eleven GPs under his belt... I have little doubt that he can do well or at least better than Checo alongside Max, given his track record so far, but as of now, I don't think he is ready. They should've handed the Red Bull seat to Tsunoda just for 2025, so Liam can gain some more F1 experience with the Racing Bulls.
One thing most missed aspect is if a driver shows any potential, (Nick De Vries) they tie them up in a contract to stop that potential going elsewhere, and if it’s good it good but if it’s bad, it adios. You could apply the same with Ricciardo, he could have potentially got into a Hass and shown more than he did. Regardless he claimed no interest was because he was desperate to re enter the Red Bulls. His potential, in Red Bulls eyes was a risk if he did, so he was offered the stepping stones route that clearly was a wrong move. Hass would have maybe seen his resurgence but, he was top team star struck.
Yuki is not a second fiddle driver .. if given a car equivalent to max Yuki will go for 1st... not what max or Rb want .. Lawson will do as he is told.... my opinion.
The 6-0 is misleading-without context as you said. Liam Q1 Cota was faster than Yuki's Q1 & 2 times. Then went P19 to P9 on his 1st race on a track has has never driven beating Yuki at P14. Liam beat yuki in the Sprint Qualis with 1 front wing taken off by Colapinto. Yuki crashed twice in Mexico and has 2m in damagesn (after both Haas drivers set their times but before Liam on a flyer). More importantly YUki has lost the most places in races on average than any of other driver at 1.7 places. But I agree Yuki should have got the Top seat earlier.
It's funny how all the salty Yuki and Perez fans completely ignore all the relevant data and just keep on about 6-0 qualifying like that one stat is the most important thing 🤦♂
@@Chrisgpracing I was shocked then realised Qualifying high and falling back (Haas vibes) was common in a lot of races. When both VCarbs finished together it is probably where the car is.

You lost me when you said you had all the data. But the lazy qualifying stats of 6-0 Yuki this season Liam at COTA qualified P3 in Q1. But because he had a grid penalty he sacrificed his Q2 to give Yuki a tow to try get him to Q3. Even with the tow, Yuki couldn't make Q3. Mexico, both drivers made Q2 and Yuki crashed while Liam was on his hot lap. Not sure a crash should be counted as a positive for Yuki
@@Karlos305 the estate is true though. I said that at first glance it look bad but there’s more than meets the eye. I think Liam did very well here, and even though technically he was out qualified 6-0, the gap was minimal at best and at many circuits Liam hadn’t been to. So while 6-0 sounds bad, it really isn’t! Hope that clears up any confusion!
@@Chrisgpracing You're welcome Chris. There are very few F1 commentary and analysis channels that are unbiased, well researched, with accurate conclusions. Great 4th vid, like the analysis which is more info than most other sites, thanks. I’m a Liam supporter but feel for Yuki, it must be sole destroying for him, through not much of his own doing. I don’t buy the temper thing as being very relevant, I thought Yuki looked really quick this season, especially in low-grip situations where driver skill is important but that may also have been a bit of a levelling factor too. Still, I think Liam presents an exciting prospect as his adaptability has been a strong point in his career, so he has a real opportunity to learn from one of the greatest. He really just needs to do better than Checo did this season to be in a positive position next season and learn more of the F1 tracks. Really looking forward to 2025.
@@OMC5428 thank you so much!! I’m super excited to see what Liam, and the other rookies can do next year. Liam certainly isn’t shy with the way he’s been racing Alonso and checo so far!
Funny thing is... youyr whole video proves Yuki is actually better than Liam at this current moment. As for the outbursts... utter BS... did any of you guys shout when Max was swearing like a pirate and crashing into lewis in Hungry? NO... but yuki does the same in a lesser way he gets condemned forever... Name me another time during 2024 that yuki had an outbusrt other than bahrain when they wanted to fix the race in favour of that loser riccardo?
I think you need to factor in the ceiling limitations of the VCARB car when reviewing Yuki’s performance over the years. New drivers are fresh and tend to appear to perform better in the first year before some succumb to the consistent pressure. So we shall see. I posted on another video the same comment you made about the Honda relationship, which I also felt that RB wanted to end completely and remove any influence Honda could have had going forward.
Yuki got screwed by RB strategy alot during the time liam was in the car... perfect example was Zandvoort last year... and remember liam isnt a rookie anymore he has raced in F1, gone away and learned what skills to improve and come back... unlike yuki who has to learn under the spot light
Great vid BTW. I believe RBR are also a different team to the one that promoted Gasly & Albon only to ruthlessly drop them - both have turned out to be very good drivers. I think Lawson will be set very realistic targets compared with Max, and given time time to develop in areas where he is comparatively weak - they have an eye to a post Max future, McLaren are taking a similar approach with Piastri, and I assume Merc with Antonelli.
I agree mate I think red bull have learnt their lesson dropping drivers too quickly! I feel he has huge potential if they give him the time he needs. Thanks for the comment, hope you sub for future content, lots coming for 2025!
I had read that it should be 6 months for Lawson and if he failed, to put Yuki in the seat. I dont think RB want Yuki to take the intel to Honda once their contract with RB has ended. Lawson is there on his own merit and I think he has the right mindset, not to match MV, but to be a wingman with him. LL has excellent mechanical knowledge and like the late Chris Amon, is hands on with engines and driving techniques. It is about handling a car built to MVs specs and score points but not directly challenge him. Go Liam, I'm sure you will do well, Kiwis can fly
@@andrewandjoanhart7882 a very good point! I think he is definitely capable of great things next year up against max. It will be really interesting to see how he fares.
Yuki wasn't even a consideration. All Red Bull PR spin, they already knew they wanted Lawson as the next Red Bull Driver. F1 has inherent prejudice and bias everywhere, from supporting BLM or "we race as one" the hosting races in Saudi Arabia, to your CV needing an Italian or at least European heritage to get a job with Ferrari.
And that's the BIG lie that gets RB and Lawson in all this trouble, that they never considered Yuki while never mentioning this and making people believe Yuki would get an honest chance. Its not just very dishonest, its pure manipulation and lying to create fake news mayhem.
*The Truth is that with Honda support and technicians behind Yuki Red bull had ZERO chance to sabotage him like Red Bull had done with all Max Companions, Max will do shit in other team like vettel on ferrari and Aston martin.
I think one of the things not mentioned is redbull has 2 teams. For their second team yuki might be to valuable to vcarb to let go. They need a monor of the younger driver and reliable driver to aid in that teams development. But also keep it financially stable enough that it could be sold if necessary. They want a number two to max someone perhaps less competitive to limit crash damage and team infighting and brand damage.
Yeah that’s a good point! I do wonder if Yuki would want to do that though? Only being there as a yard stick may not be yukis hopes. Either he will be dropped or will leave himself before 2025 when Honda leaves RB. There’s many young RB drivers they could promote in a year or two
I’am afraid this could be the wrong time in the wrong place for Liam. Red Bull might be entering a downward spiral. It may be possible that Racing Bulls gets things right this time and Yuki will once again shine along with Hadjar. Who knows…
NO what it actually comes down to is that Yuki is only in the team because Honda demand it. If he is put into the big boy team it is going to be a whole lot harder to replace him without pissing off Honda. Not to mention Yuki has had so many accidents in practice and races he costs the team a hell of a lot of money. Liam doesn't have any of that dirt. Yuki should be showing up Liam as long as he has been driving that car and he just didn't.
Subscribed! Finally some rational discussion rather than tribal sound-bites. I’ve been watching Lawson since TRS .. he was very impressive. Happy to see him get a chance and it should have been him not de Vries at Alpha Tauri.
Welcome! Thank you so much, that’s so nice to hear. Yes I agree completely, I really don’t see why De vries for the go ahead, he was a merc driver, never made much sense.
1:33 The chart is not accurate. In 3 of the 11 races, Yuki did not start 1 race and never completed a lap in 2 races. In the finishing 8 races, Liam was ahead in 3 to Yuki's 5. The laps ahead chart is off by 3 since they are counting the 3 races Yuki didn't finish a lap in as counting for a lap.
Ford might also not want Yuki in that seat especially if he was doing better than Perez and was close enough to Max and wasn't making mistakes and looking professional. Yuki would be hard to replace when Honda goes and Ford turns up.
Blah, blah, blah....no matter how you slice it, the problem here is Red Bull management and how they keep flubbing their driver decisions. We know Max is the constant, but this merry go round with the other seats is a complete joke. Checo should've been sacked a long time ago and they should've promoted Danny Ric for the 2nd half of the season as his trial to see if he could fit the bill as Max's wingman and put up competitive results to keep RB in the WCC race, then put Liam in the VCARB to get more of a sample size to evaluate him. But this is the circus that Horner and Marko have been running for many, many years. I have zero respect for that team. And I won't even go into how Red Bull and VCARB should be two, separate entities. This whole junior/senior team BS compromises the competitive integrity of the sport. FIA honestly need to break them up.
I agree. RB handleless their drivers horribly since 2018 when Ric left. They only focus on Max and don't seem to think much about the 2nd seat or junior team. As for you point on them being two separate entities, I 100% agree. I think it's a time bomb waiting for controversy to happen. What happens if a VCARB driver takes out a championship rival of max? does it even get looked at...
Do you know that not all stats have the same weight, right? Laps ahead and qualifying is quite more important than points and finished ahead. I believe you can understand why.

I was with you till the part that Liam takes it to Max. That's not his job. Redbull like the dominant days of Lewis and Schumacher were built around a no1 driver (Rosberg sas the anomaly and he even quite immediately afterwards. The most successful teams built their success around a star driver. This is not controversial, it's just that Redbull has made it clear that back their no1 with good reason. Look at the success he has brought them. And thia idea that Max has it easy, could it be that he is just that good. He is a generational talent so most drivers around him are bound to struggle to beat Max. So I don't think liam should try to best Max, just play his Mark Webber role. you are cotradicting here _ just after you quoted perez saying rookie shouldnt be in that second redbull instead of saying 'that is why redbull should have chosen Yuki over Liam' you said a driver of 11 gp start should get the driver over someone who has almost 100 gp start. look what happened to gasly and albon, I think only drivers above Saints caliver is able to survive a year next to max. (like top five drivers of current grid) is Lawson that good? we dont even know is Liam is in top ten let alone 5. at least Yuki is there or there about AT THE MOMENT Redbull had less to lose by putting Yuki in the top team while letting liam learn the craft for a year or two. who knows if max stays with RB for 2026? they maybe left with liam and Hadjar or something
Ya when they give Yuki a 20 grid penalty Liam look's great. Every other time not so much. Yuki probably has the highest ceiling of any driver, he's just never got decent wheels under him. A year in the second Red Bull was everyone's chance to see that. Liam's at least another year away from being 'Average'. Red-Bull better not start crying when their queue jumper doesn't work out.
@@DJModsChannel he did indeed! At Mexico, he was publicly coming together with Albon going into turn 1. So there is some need for consideration there as you say

Everytime Perez got close to beat Max in championship points, they sabotaged Perez. Perez did everything his team asked for. To what? Perez got same treatment as Webber (x4) before his exit! Perez got asked an impossible task knowing his car is far worst than Max's! A car not updated, sometimes for more than 2 months! A car with little updates during the year and ending of life parts! Risk of electrocution in one race this year! Listen to radios! Bird told Perez to be carefull and press some buttons so he does not get electrocuted. Marco is the one who said that latin people do not have the same level of concentration than a Holandese, German or Austrian has. Perez did adapt and they sabotaged him. 2022 - Canada, Perez 21 points behind Max. They installed an ending of life gear box so he does not score. Marco "we will investigate" they did not. Then during 6 races he got the same floor in his car which was a "test floor" they told it was to low costs. The floor is the most important and chapest part! There he lost every option of a championship fight. 2023, assimetric brakes. Both pilots had it. Look at onboards of Checo Perez prior to Miami 2023 in that season. Then you will see how he struggles and corrects or overcorrects his wheel when stearing. No confidense anymore. Also, prior to Miami, on same specs Perez was less than 100 milisecond behind Max and also has been able to beat Max by miliseconds! They were on par both drivers! They kept Max with this asimetric brakes until half 2024. Since this was removed, he got 3 podiums and 1 win. No more 20 seconds advantage to 2nd placed car. All that and Perez, working with a rookie race engineer who makes him lose 40 to 70 points per year! Worst race engineer ever in F1 history! Strategies to favor Max in detriment of him sponsored by Annah Smith! Lambiasse boss race engineer and also Max Verstappen race engineer!!! Only team in F1 history running like this! And nobody calls this out!!!??? Media is part of the sabotage. FIA is part od the sabotage. Marco knows too many people there and manipulates F1 at will. Then why Max wouldn't want Marco out? An 82 YO? Max needs him, Clearly a madup champ. A madup GOAT! Listen to radios! In Red Bull podcast, Lambiasse speaks about his role in 2022. He doea not have time to look at what Bird is doing as he cannot propeely do his job as main race engineer! In most races Checo was running blind! And Bird is so F**** quiet over the radio! Sabotage and rascims under Helmut Marco! This is Max Bull. Lawson will have the same treatment as Bourdais, Albon, Sainz, Ricciardo, Gasly and others. Perez mistake? Fight Max Verstappen.
@@Chrisgpracing in a fair fight we would have had great championship fights! Memorable races between Perez vs Verstappen. Like Hamilton vs Rosberg. Red Bull and Helmut Marco denied us that possibility. Perez can beat Max in same cars, no doubt about this. Whatever they say, as an F1 fan, I know Perez is a top pilot. No pilot ever forgets how to drive.
This is a perfect breakdown of the situation. Liam's potential upside is exactly why they promoted him. Yuki, with four full seasons, should be miles ahead of a rookie who was thrown into the car mid-season.
Whether Tsunoda leaves Honda or not, there will be no place for him Even if there was a place somewhere, it would be as a third substitute The transfer opportunity that existed last year was turned down by the team The project will end next year As a Japanese person, it's frustrating Do the teams understand what stickers they're running with? You cannot put two top drivers on the same team. They get in each others way and crash themselves out. Also, Yuki besting Max at any time would go radically against the Marko narrative of Northern European dominance and superiority.
@Chrisgpracing not getting your point. Marko has made it clear he thinks anyone besides Northern European people are a waste in F1. Pretty much got called out for remarks about Checo and Alonzo.

Ignoring the fact that LL does not look like native NZ people and looks more like Northern European people is something your generation has been told to echo as part of a denial of the consequences of colonialism. But it doesn't matter, the rest of the world is not fooled. And Yuki is just getting better and faster. Look what he did to Ricciardo. Wasn't even close.
Very good point mate thank you!!
I can’t wait to see how they get on next year. 2025 is set up to be an incredible year in our sport

Great analysis and a great channel.
Race pace is another metric that RB have based their decision on. But overall, I believe it’s the ‘ceiling’ that you talk about as being one of the most influential factors in their decision.
Thank you very much!!
To promote Lawson seems like a huge unforced error considering what happen to Gasly and Albion in previous years
It does seem odd to not even consider it!
He deserved a chance atleast
exactly my point! why not promote him years ago..

I was super impressed with liams performance this year, he could definitely be a star if the future!
Thank for the commend and sub mate!
But wait, it gets more ridiculous:
Even after they had seen what Lawson was capable of, Ricciardo was brought back in and kept for 2024.

Liam beat yuki in the Sprint Qualis with 1 front wing taken off by Colapinto. Yuki crashed twice in Mexico and has 2m in damagesn (after both Haas drivers set their times but before Liam on a flyer). It’s tough to compare the two, when Lawson had the better strats during races.
Obviously comparisons are always hard in F1, there are so many moving parts, but we can do our best!

F1 has inherent prejudice and bias everywhere, from supporting BLM or "we race as one" the hosting races in Saudi Arabia, to your CV needing an Italian or at least European heritage to get a job with Ferrari.
It’s a shame they never considered Yuki
And that's the BIG lie that gets RB and Lawson in all this trouble, that they never considered Yuki while never mentioning this and making people believe Yuki would get an honest chance. Its not just very dishonest, its pure manipulation and lying to create fake news mayhem.
Good analysis without any BS. Well done.

*The Truth is that with Honda support and technicians behind Yuki Red bull had ZERO chance to sabotage him like Red Bull had done with all Max Companions, Max will do shit in other team like vettel on ferrari and Aston martin.
Do you think max will move to Aston to be with Honda and newey?
A very comprehensive analysis 👍🏻
Thank you very much!!
There’s many young RB drivers they could promote in a year or two
I think Liam can expect zero support from Max, because Max is... well, Max.

Lawson will have no trouble handling Max.
I can’t wait to see that!!
I’am afraid this could be the wrong time in the wrong place for Liam. Red Bull might be entering a downward spiral. It may be possible that Racing Bulls gets things right this time and Yuki will once again shine along with Hadjar. Who knows…
It could certainly happen!
I did mention the Honda ties in the video, I do think that when Honda leaves Yuki will will leave too.
Yuki treats everyone badly when he blows up.
He does seem to loose it at times..
they still need an experienced driver at vcarb
and he will go with Honda to AM

Thank you for the comment!
Ford might also not want Yuki in that seat especially if he was doing better than Perez and was close enough to Max and wasn't making mistakes and looking professional. Yuki would be hard to replace when Honda goes and Ford turns up.
Yes that could definitely cause a few headaches in 2026!
F1 politics always plays a role
@@markvisser388 how many points do you score from qualifying? Or from laps ahead? 0.
Points finishes it quite literally why we go racing.
Why do you think points scored is less important then laps ahead?

I see rookies round about mid pack battling with each other maybe one or two is exceptional.
Liam's performance can be as comparable to Riccardo vs Yuki. that's not much of a promising prospect. Liam is good, is he f1 good? that is yet to be tested.
My question is why did red bull really put him in the seat? they could have approached so many other drivers but this decision was more inline with having someone less of a competition for max who can take a fair bit of points off the other teams while max's team dominance remains in tact.
I think they made a mistake with check going out side the RB family. There were no other drives aside from Liam and yuki to pick from, they have more with in Liam It seems!

the sky
doesn't mean anything
What about space? That’s even higher, put space in the car see how they do. If they fail put the moon in.
His role is to bring the car home and score good points consistently.
@@Ogole-oye I only meant I’d love to see someone challenge max. I don’t think Liam will, certainly not during his first year. you are cotradicting here _ just after you quoted perez saying rookie shouldnt be in that second redbull instead of saying 'that is why redbull should have chosen Yuki over Liam' you said a driver of 11 gp start should get the driver over someone who has almost 100 gp start. look what happened to gasly and albon, I think only drivers above Saints caliver is able to survive a year next to max.
I didn’t say I think Liam should get it. I said red bull have clearly got more faith in him.
I also said yuki should have been promoted years ago..
Red-Bull better not start crying when their queue jumper doesn't work out.

didn't Yuki have a retirement along the way hence why points might be close?

Perez got asked an impossible task knowing his car is far worst than Max's! A car not updated, sometimes for more than 2 months! A car with little updates during the year and ending of life parts!
