Title is untruthful. This video does not talk about managing UC or improving your gut. It's a long drawn out description of UC and simply ends with "see your doctor"
I was diagnosed recently with this. Horrendous experience. Had to change my diet. Fruits, vegetables mostly and nuts, pulses. It's a game changer.
Yes it is.. I was diagnosed in 2012 in bad flare today 😫
"Not based on diet"
Then- "all based on diet, so go to the doctor so they can medicate you".
correct it is about good microbes.
One of the slides in the video shows "no smoking". Research studies have shown that UC is less common in smokers than nonsmokers. Some people have developed UC once they have given up smoking. This suggests that smoking may delay or prevent UC, as well as reducing its severity. Don't get me wrong, smoking is bad for you for many other reasons, however for UC appears to be beneficial.
I'm a medical scribe, Ive heard whispers about this study among different providers. However, we still need more research!
We cant take it as a rule, each person is different and can present different reactions regarding smoking
I have either chrons or colitis, not sure which yet. I SWEAR, when I eat anything artificial and/or processed, I get HORRIFIC flare ups of LLQ abdominal pain, sweating, low fever and diffuse joint pain. I feel like I'm being poisoned by society.
i have ulcerative colitis and i bleed so much
@@OfficialCryptivity Need to each gentle soft foods, no greasy. noprocessed foods or snacks what so ever, avoid sugar, alcohol. Whole foods & organic, cooked at home will help. No dairy.
Yes but…”How To Manage Ulcerative Colitis And Improve Your Gut Health”??? Not anywhere in the video. CBS do better.
Is recurring blood in stool one of the symptoms?
Yes
Hello dear, what biologics were you put on. What other medicines cured you dear?
Good video.
My grandmother had it, my mother has it, my sister has it, now I have it. Grandma had a colostomy bag. Mom had a colon resection. You need to make better diet choices before you run out of chances.
Quit eating fiber go on a carnivore diet and stick to it.
@@Randywatson34 explain please I have this now
Has anybody been able to drink non alcoholic beer with ulcerative colitis without any issues?
Plants defend themselves against predators with oxalates, tiny shards and crystals that imbed themselves into the guts of who eats them. Have you ever gotten a strange dry feeling in your mouth after eating raw spinach? That’s the oxalates.
So just taking meds for the rest of their life is the only way to treat UC?
Yes, it's a cronic disease with no possible cure as yet.
@@sandeepshah105 And a clean diet.
I was put in the hospital in 2020 due to colitis. Bloody stools and extreme pain due to swelling and inflammation.
I was put on biologics medication and I am symptom free today.
My colon was so damaged that the doctor gave me a 50/50 regarding needing to remove my colon.
which biologic are you on? I’m on a remicade biosimilar, I felt great for a few weeks and then went back into a flare
@@braxtonbrock6430 Infliximab, which is known as Remicade in some areas.
I have an infusion every 8 weeks.
I hope you find something that works for you too.
What do you recommend
text: not caused by diet
guest: seems to affect more people on standard american diet.... ok???
It's more common in 1st world industrialized nations. If diet was a direct cause it would be 100x more common. Millions of people eat significantly worse than me for their whole life and don't get IBD.
Nothing about the Western diet is good. But our diet will never change cause of money and we need to feed a growing economy. Not enough healthy foods for everyone 🤷🏾.
Shelf life is their ultimate priority, not human life.
Can we make this a comment section for the previous video AMERICAN IN TRANSITION:i think it's full of trash
