0:15 Remedies for an inflamed colon
Today we’re going to talk about a few things you can do to help improve an inflamed colon. Whether you have some type of irritable bowel syndrome, diverticulitis, Crohn’s disease, or celiac, these remedies may be beneficial.
9 things to focus on to help heal an inflamed colon:
1. Avoid gluten and grains
Gluten can tear up the inside part of the lining of the colon.
2. Avoid dairy
You could have an allergy to casein that creates inflammation.
3. Limit vegetables
You could have an altered microbiome, which means that your microbes are going to be easily overwhelmed by the fiber in vegetables. This can create a lot of bloating. You may want to do carnivore for a little while if you can digest protein. It’s also important to avoid vegetable oils.
4. Don’t consume alcohol and don’t smoke
Smoking depletes you of certain nutrients. You can get more inflammation.
5. Chlorophyll
If you’re not consuming vegetables to get chlorophyll, wheatgrass juice powder can be a good source of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll can be very healing to the inside of the colon.
6. Intestines with stomach (as a supplement)
You may have some type of autoantibodies, and this product could be very beneficial and give you a lot of relief.
7. Take purified bile salts
If there is some type of inflammation in the colon, you could also have a problem recycling bile salts. This could cause you to become deficient in bile. Bile salts can help keep the junctions of the colon tight, regulate the balance of microbes in the gut, and help keep things flowing through the liver, gallbladder, and intestines.
8. Do fasting
Do intermittent fasting to some degree and even periodic prolonged fasting. Fasting is one of the best things to stimulate stem cells in the colon to help heal the lining of the intestines.
9. Take a good probiotic
This could help repopulate the microbes that you have in your colon.

Best Doctor ever. Regular doctors should be ashamed of their incompetence.
Reason I quit nursing!!! Not giving all those drugs! A band-aid in most cases.

Exactly!!!
what is wrong with yall,Just cuz you went through a bad Doctor doesnt mean there aren't Great docs.
@@dyyno5578 LOL I've gone through over 30 in the last 20 months!!! Its a pandemic in itself! They are killing people. Wait till you get really sick. Hopefully you dont have to go through this nonsense. But chances are, if you get really sick, the doctor is going to make it worse on potentially many levels.
Things that helped me specifically:
-L-Glutamine (helps digest food)
-Rooibos tea
-Chew 20x before swallowing
-Strict low FODMAP diet with strict attention to serving sizes and avoiding all garlic
-Minimum of 12 hour fasting from night to day
-Lots of sleep
-No snacking! 4 hours between meals.
The garlic thing, seems to be my problem! Ate a bunch of garlic yesterday. During the night I thought I had a near death experience... Staying away from garlic now
@@Juznik1389 Was wondering the same thing w/myself!! I had made a salad dressing with LOTS of minced garlic, next day, IBS flare. Thinking back to my last episode garlic crossed my mind as well because I made a dish using again, lots of garlic. Now I read your reply and you too wondering the same thing. Yep, now I gotta get through this episode. Something is triggering it. I started my food diary today, cuz I gotta get serious now to find out triggers. These cramps are horrible. My episodes are getting closer together, too. The doc gave me Linzee, but afraid to try (when Magnesium (oxide) 4 250mg tablets do the same thing! (Un-Constipate you). I do go every day, but I don't think it all comes out. (Sorry TMI) But Mag Ox before bed will def get it all out. But something is triggering these events. Garlic is def on the radar, and I will not be consuming it from here on out.
@@buckeyelady65 Yeah, I recently tried eating a bunch of garlic again. And on queue I woke up and felt nauseous and after some time - colon clearing. Felt like everything was rushed through. I hope it works out for you. Sometimes I just want to die… doing strict carnivore now. Helps me in so many ways. My goal is to do it until 2024. Perhaps for the rest of my life if it really works out for me. If you haven’t done it, it is a roller coaster experience in the beginning
L glutamine doesn't help digest food lol. It can aid in supporting the gut lining.

You saved me! I have celiac and doctors, yes plural, have told me to take acid reducers and and gut bacteria killer medication because they thought i had ibd and nobody recommended a diet. I watched your video, stopped eating gluten, and im healed. No more going.blind, no more numbness in my extremeties, and by far my favorite, no more bloody stools! I owe you 10 grand and not the er visit, you saved my life and thank god i caught it* quick, thank you.
This is great
How long it’s take you to recover? And what diet you consume?
@@samuelsiu7475 Ive went from becoming anemic along with ibs (arguably ibd) to almost 100% in 2 days after i quit eating gluten, it's actually comedic how I recovered. I stayed away from everything that had gluten (even if it was manufactered with wheat though the food did not contain it) for about a month, month and a half. Ive accidentally had some meat marinated with a sauce that contained gluten in it recently and i feel fine. I feel since the amount of gluten in chicken stock, after it is cooked with meat on a grill, is a massive difference than having bread, cake, flour tortillas, etc. But with that being said I still know my body doesnt react to gluten well so staying away from it allows me to get away with incidents like that.

Totally agree with you. About 3 months ago I literally was in a food coma after eating way too much fish and chips on a family holiday. Around the same time I was getting thru a lot of the docs content. made a decision there and then to do keto and IF. Today, 8kg lighter and about the same to go for my target. You are a gold mine and my first go-to for help with my health problems. Thank you! You are the best source of what doctors won't tell you, which is how to heal naturally.
I think as a person does low carb with IF they go through healing stages over time. My whole family has been doing this for 2+ years and we have had to tweak it as our symptoms changed and we learned new info. I couldn't do carnivore for the first year but now my body seems to want it. We all feel much better; thanks Dr. Berg!
Ooo
What tweaks did you make and how are you feeling now?
@@user-vg8ez9cu6u My daughter and I had to take special herbal treatment for gallbladder so we could absorb a high fat diet better; other family members didn't need this. I needed betaine hydrochloride to strengthen my stomach acid so I could break down higher levels of protein. My daughter and I both have to be careful about phytic acid; dairy seems to help me on this. My daughter seems to have a tendency towards developing kidney stones and has special herbal treatment for that. Bone broth seems to be helpful for just about everything. We're all gradually feeling more energetic and better able to fight disease.
@@keviniverson5569 vitamin C counteracts phytic acid. Thanks for explaining.
Have you seen healing via colonoscopy?
I became addicted to the videos from Dr. Berg. There is so much to learn about our bodies, and it is a real treasure to have it explained point by point, so we (who are not educated on the topic) can learn and connect the dots. It would be great if Dr. Berg can cover a topic about nasal polyps and what we need to do in order to get rid of them or to reduce them without the surgery. I believe many people who suffer from allergies or sinusitis have the same problem without even knowing that...
Thank you. Appreciate your comment!

Your an awesome dr for sharing this information, no one ever talks about these diseases. I'm so grateful to you. Thank you ❤️
I stopped Gluten about 8 months ago. Glad I did. I was tested and was told I was not celiac, and not allergic to gluten but stopping gluten has improved my health. I then decided to find out exactly what I was allergic to. I found out I was highly allergic to barley. Then I discovered that barley is added to most wheat flour because it helps bread rise. So I assume it was the barley causing my issue. I then started using Gastro Comfort by NOW pharmaceuticals. This has also helped. Added regular probiotics and small amount of psyllium fiber daily and my IBS seldom flares up now.
In Canada and the US, glyphosate is sprayed on wheat before a harvest because it helps dry it out. This has been for the last 12 years. I think that creates inflammation too. In the last couple of years they started using it in the UK after banning it for many years. Glyphosate is RoundUp and I have a feeling it dries out the intestines like it does the wheat. It's in potatoes too.
Your video clips and your advise is so reassuring and are fantastic!

@@serendipity_project I experienced the worst stomach cramps (which lasted what seemed like hours!), followed by diarrhea, vomiting, and then fully bloodied stools. Because the cramps continued, i went to Urgent Care as a precaution. The traditional medicine prescribed drugs for di, gastric and antibiotics in addition to a bland diet and frequent small meals. I did not see improvement, only lost weight (muscle atrophy wasting due to low protein intake on that silly diet). When i followed Dr. Berg's plans, i had immediate positive results. All great points. The organic wheat grass drink is really helpful. If you've just done an enema per say and drink organic wheat grass mixed with cold water and lemon, you can feel the benefits right away. If you divide the onion into two equal parts from the middle from the protruding apex, you will see concentric circles arranged from the largest to the smallest.
The anatomy of the intestine is as follows;
The outermost is the large intestine, and the small intestines are lined up inside the large intestine.
The thick part in the outermost layer of the onion resembles the "large intestine".
The membrane of the onion is similar to the peritoneum of the human.
The protrusion at the top of the onion resembles the rectum region.
Onions can be excellent cleansers for the intestines.
Could you share more details please? Thanks!

Please do a video on ileostomies/Colectomies and what changes happen to the body, nutrients needed, possible issues that may arise, etc. Similar to how u do a lot of informative videos on people lacking a gallbladder, it would help a ton of people to see videos and series on people without a colon. It totally changes how the body functions, even hormones, so it would help a lot of people, even those with colons bc it would give the info abt colon health and all that organ does. Thanks for considering this!
I had my colon removed due to inflamatory collitis years ago with ileostomy. I got adjusted to it very fast - within months I wa seating almost everything in smaller amounts and learned what caused blockages etc. I avoided spicy foods though. I experinced no changes in hormones and my life was really good. I had a pouch surgery in 2007 which took around a year to adjust to and now my body functions pretty much normal except I obviously need to go to the toilet more often. I think you need to listen to your body and be guided what works for you. Most of the issue usually arise through stress and staying happy and resting when tired is key , for me at least :)
@@GalacticWoman I'm glad u've had a good experience with it. I have not. I started getting prolapses less than a month after surgery and they often occur weekly, if not daily, staying out for 8+ hrs and nearly a foot. I also have a stoma hernia, hiatal hernia, umbilical hernia, and organ prolapses. Anything with fiber gives me a blockage, so my diet is basically meat and veggie juice. I was vegan prior and now my life feels like a total 180. My hormones have been super screwed up bc the hepatic portal vein is cauterized, and this vein helps dump excess estrogen and other hormones into the colon for elimination. Thus mine are not being eliminated properly, giving me a lot of hormonal issues. Thyroid is also affected.
I had mine removed due to ehlers danlos syndrome.... This surgery seems to work best for those with IBD, but most I've talked to with EDS often struggle with a lot of complication from this surgery
@@summersalix I am sorry to hear of your struggles with this. I can relate to an extent as my eary days post surgery were not that great with various issues arising which however thankfully settled down later. I am not a medic but have worked in natural health store for a few years so have met many people with simmilar issues although never met anyone with EDS . Regarding diet I know non soluble fibvre is not great for me so i tend to stick with soluable one. My best meals post surgery were potaoes in any form with fish or meat and some carrots . or white rice with carrots ( all well cooked) and plain yoghut or stewed apple. No skins. As the body reuses over 75% of proteins i never worried about adequate protein intake. I wonder if your diet of meat and veggie juice is best- i stopped anything raw as cooked felt better for me despite of the current raw is best narrative. So if you want nutrients have liver once a week - that should do it and the rest make sure its easy digest only. Regarding hormones - thats something only an endricologist can advise i expect based on your specific status. Of course there are herbs that modulate them but these must be adjusted to your specific case too. Personally I dont see anything that is "genetic" as insurmantable- the epigentics may be innits infancy yet but that may change and we may see developments that will assist those who have lost hope of any recovery in the future. The future is still unwritten :)
@@summersalix , I have a colostomy and right now am suffering I believe from an inflamed colon, my guess. I also have a perineal hernia which is rare and will need surgery but I am putting it off as long as I can due to the reputation of mesh. I think the inflammation I am now experiencing is from the pizza I ate yesterday. I have searched the internet on perineal hernias and come up with very little.
@@GalacticWoman You are most fortunate. Ileostomies are normally temporary because you end up with a depletion of nutrients. I have had mine 10m's and it has caused disconnection colitis.
Thank you for this Dr. Berg, I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis this week and I appreciate these tips to help with IBD.
Good luck with your journey,
I was diagnosed 3yrs ago, it's been a bumpy ride.
I hope you see this: After 20 years of traditional doctors treating UC and only getting worse we have found a few things that really help.
1. Serapeptase in an empty stomach morning and night
2. Slippery Elm -morning and night
3. Probiotics, rotate through different strains to not over populate with one type -morning and night
4. Marshmallow root - morning
5. Prenatal Vitamins (with iodine) take with food in the morning
6. Saccharomyces boulardii
Like all supplements introduce one for a week before adding the next to see how your body responds. Take breaks from use to not build up resistance, and cleanse any overages
I have it too. I just found out about a Chinese herb called Qing Dai that’s supposed to help. I ordered it from Amazon, I haven’t tried it yet. I have also bought licorice tea and it helps with the pain.

I been more than 2 months eating meets only i I lose more than 15kg and I feel better and completely comfortable..
Neither easier nor bleeding with extraction ..
I don’t think I will eat or drink any carbs or sugar.. because I’m really happy where I’m I don’t use any medicine anymore to stop my diarrhea 🙂🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🍗🍗🍗🍖🍖🍖🍖🍗🍗🍗🍳🍳🍳🍳🥓🥓🥓🥚🥚🥚🥚☕️☕️☕️☕️🐋🦈🐠🐟🐙🦑🦐🦞🦀🐪🐏🦃🐓🐇🕊🕊🦩🦩🦢🦢🦢🦃
I hope you're just joking because meat-only diets will kill you faster. there are other ways to go around fixing colon inflammation without having to avoid eating veggies and fruit. real experts say that humans should consume meat once or twice a week. There's lots of evidence saying keto is a terrible diet. Keto is great for losing weight, but that doesn't mean it's a good diet in the long run. especially for your heart. heck, you can lose weight just eating pizza every day as long you don't go over your calories. This is what keto does to your body, it fills you up faster and gives a sense of fulness so you're not eating much and thus losing weight. Anyway, at the end the day it is your life, you do you, but don't tell people, this is a true fact.
That means you are ghost that only eats meat
eating only meat is not keto. you two are just misled. Bring evidence like publications if you want to claim something, not by you saying "experts say".
Monkey Face

I eat all kind of meat.
Sometimes Peanut butter .
I drink any hot drinks without any kind of sugar.
Every week or two I eat hummus and falafel 🧆.
Sometimes I eat keto friendly vegetables once or twice a week sometimes I don’t.
I like to add mayonnaise and ketchup keto friendly in most of my meals.
But always the mean curse is 🍖 meat
