Nuevillette is quickly becoming one of my favorite character. He has a very dynamic character, something that can't be said for many of Genshin playable cast whose character arc has long since reached their end before the Traveler even meets them, which make him really compelling to follow. Trying not only to grasp the world around him, but also himself. At the end of the quest and reading Furina's letter to him, I can see why he stick with Furina now. Because for all her faults, Furina grasps the wonders and beauty that Nuevillette is trying to understand. While Nuevillette is constantly viewing the world from the lens of the past, Furina is consistently living in the present, living in the moment. They make up for each other's failure, in that sense.

For over 2 years, I thought the result of my lonliness or depression was because I'm Asian in a predominantly white country which made me very sad and insecure. I also hope that people here will be more open-minded to other races.

To tribute her sacrifice, and also a reminder.
1:35 the wat Neuvillette actually pays his respects for a second is really fucking wholesome, he respected Navia's father alot
0:51 there, now I can repeat this over and over again for as much as I desire
I aww-ed so hard at that kid, man 😭
This was such a nice story quest especially when the traveler had an actual voice line. It really added to the emotions of that scene as well as seeing them smiling at Neuv at the end of this cut scene. It was honestly so sweet.
I thought I could hold back my tears but I lost it with the Navia scene. I love how you can visually see the regret on his face 😢😢😢
the best Genshin character to date. the most maturely written one. i can say it very confidently.
The "Who's been threatening Melusines? Show yourself" guy (2:01) made me 🥲
Coming back to this after finishing archon quest act 5 gives so much more weight ti what Furina is saying to Neuvilette. It was planned from the very beginning. What great writing
The ending isn't actually Furina speaking to Neuvillette. That is Focalors narrating her plan to us the viewer. This was all so that when she returns the Hydro Authority, Neuvillette will choose to pardon Egeria's sin.
@@MansMan42069 ah okay I see, thank you for the clarification.
I cried with his story quest. You can feel his loneliness and melancholy. Despite that, he still tries hard to persevere in this new life he's been reborn into. Last time i cried was Ei's story. 😢
Ei’s quest was one of the worst quests I’ve ever seen.
@@anyaaa2801tbh
Ru's quest too for me.
Ver 4.2 is another crying session for sure 😅

I loved the story quest ♡ . The best in a long time ( to me)
True, I feel the same
The smile at the end ❤ totally worth it. Nice hoyo! But We need more sovereigns!
So he was in fact crying all along 😢
This story quest broke my heart into pieces 💔 I got Neuvilette at the very first day because I always waited Genshin to release a character who was a judge. But after getting to know him better throughout the main quest line and his own story quest especially, I realised that pulling for him was the best decision. Now he is my absolute favourite character besides Itto and Kaveh
Neuvillette... what a special person he is... I hadn't done the story quest but this made me have goosebumps all over my body... 🥺😭😨
(Edit) You guys... 420 likes!!! You guys are awesome!!! Thank you! 🤩🤭🤩
(Edit) wow... already 563 likes this is going well... 😊
(Edit) Still haven't done the story quest... 😭😭😭

It’s so sad, yet so sweet. I love him so much

I havent even got past Mondstadt (im quite new to the game) but damn this guy seems cool
@@yrthebest_.
I already quit since I don't have time to play anymore. It's nice to see new players in genshin. If I knew you personally I would lend you my account. It has all the tall characters with their signature weapons at C0-R1. It doesn't have Neuvilette coz I already quit 3 months ago. I only play tall characters that's why I only pull for tall characters.
He really did brought judgement for all the people of Fontaine
He is in so much pain yet he never shows any weakness
I won't lie this quest made me cry.
I love, love how close we got to be with neuvillette in this story quest. i love how we, even by being common ‘outsider’ to fontaine, could have a close relationship with him. it make neuvillette to have a friend he can hold on to without having any fear of disrupting any order,
Damn, as a man im crying so hard
there's no shame in crying, man
Absolutely
This character quest was so good. I'm touched how wholesome melusine is and his character quest somehow directly give hint to our progress at current story including giving hint of world quest too
there’s okay to cry. protect Melusines at all costs
Bruh wtf my eyes are watering
Arlecchino : " Watch him closely, he could be trouble"
Maam he is the trouble for you harbingers
Nahhh shes lieing hahah I bet the second the real war between Archons and Celestia starts then Arlecchino would beg Neuvi to help hahah
Arlecchino is scared of Neuvillette.
The recent story quest cut scenes have been amazing!! From, Yoi, Lyney, to Neuvillette- they are so good!
i wished lyneys one would be animated in this style but it was still very good
Neuvi without a single word in this cutscene just pure sadness and loneliness
Lmao this gives me an emotional sad anime girl vibe
god forbid a male character shows emotion and vulnerability, and you demote it to a misogynistic sad anime girl trope
@@lratioyourmom5608well god forbid them for comparing the scene to something they feel fits the vibe, in fact.
God forbid anyone for thinking and commenting anything at all.
Can’t say this give that vibe, can’t say anything about anime girls because it’s misogynistic. Yep, let’s not use the comment section as a comment section.

Hearing Focolars like this makes this video feel so bittersweet. Especially since what she says comes true.

This had me crying😭😭😭😭 what a work of art
Ig his story quest is the only quest where we didn't get the character to play in a domain as a trial. Bro is exclusive
Not 'only' Albedo's quest was like that

I thought that Neuvillette's mission would be very boring because of the position he has as a judge, and I thought it would be related to political things, but this mission was one of the best I have seen, plus it was entertaining, and one of the most exciting, Arlechinno also came out, I didn't expect that, simply one of the best
Possibly one of the most well-written character in the game, second only to Nahida. I like Hoyo’s approach with the direction in this cutscene. Nothing fancy, no fireworks. It simply was just Neuvillette looking back and showing he’s finally letting go of his regrets of the past. Such a breath of fresh air from other characters’ story quest final cut scene. ❤
That smile at the end... Neuvillette has such a cute smile
“Hydro dragon hydro dragon DON’T CRY!”
Neuvillette : 👁️ 👃🏻 👁️
I cried during this cutscene! ❤
What I loved about the story quest is how it didn’t involve many NPC’s and the story was so good.
1:08 is that Alain and seymour?
thats what i was wondering when i saw them but cant confirm
Must be, I forgor the names but the other members of that orphanage (all grown up now) some of them tried to tamper with Elynas and experiment with primordial water, and how to survive Fontaine’s prophecy, and they fought in the remains of Elynas. So it must be him
Yeah its alain its implied that he report to neuvillete before the big battle in elynas happened
nah I don't think so, Seymour was already heavily damage after the explosion in Elynas right?
@@adamant2239this must be before the battle
He must have heard 'hydro dragon don't cry' a lil too many times
There is no way I am able to watch this without crying. When playing the quest I was already crying at the start; when I rewatch the cutscene, I almost always lose it at “hydro dragon don’t cry”; but if I miraculously hold the tears in by then, the come overflowing when Carole tells Neuvillette that the rainy season is almost over 😭😭😭😭😭
That’s the exact spot I always cry. She was so sweet and innocent, she didn’t deserve to die :(
This story quest is related to me. I am also living in Australia and they hate me because of my looking. Im Korean but they always called me 'Chinese' and showed me their hatred. I hope they will be changed like people in Fontaine.
Hey, I feel you and I'm sorry people call you names and mock you for your race. I'm an Indian living in Australia but I don't look Indian and more "asian". Because of this, some people have also thought I was either Chinese or Japanese (Because I can speak Japanese) and some called me racial slurs behind my back. For over 2 years, I thought the result of my lonliness or depression was because I'm Asian in a predominantly white country which made me very sad and insecure. I also hope that people here will be more open-minded to other races.
This is the most beautiful cutscene in all of Genshin history….
Why nobody talking about the age of paimon? Since its hinted the melusine who works at fontaine more older than her? Its indirectly denied the theory of her true identity as old gods or whatever CMIW
The Melusines likely can see her true self given their special levels of perception.
i had a theory before that Paimon is a part of the Celestia structure that broke off and gained consciousness.
Also one of the melusine world quest sees paimon like a rainbow balloon with a string up to the sky
This quest is now my number one best quest I ever play. I literally cry for Carol to be accepted by the human when they don't want by the ignorance and the scare and see today all the people today protect them for all their life, see a lot of our society today again when people try to be accepted but other rejected them just like for Carol. So yeah best quest ever thanks Hoyoverse👍😘
1:55 do i have to cry every time see this
I think Furina or "Furina" is the one that gives the advice about being a spokesperson to Neuvillette. It sounds like her
She is. In jp voices, its her.
yes!! it is her, she is guiding neuvillette, maybe it would be correct to call her "focalors" here? who knows
The ending isn't actually Furina speaking to Neuvillette. That is Focalors narrating her plan to us the viewer. This was all so that when she returns the Hydro Authority, Neuvillette will choose to pardon Egeria's sin.
@@MansMan42069 How do you know it's not Furina speaking? 😮 I always thought it was her who told him that because she was the one who chose him to be the judge for the trials in the first place.
@@becky_0707 Several reasons:
1) There's actually no reason to think the voice at the end was talking to Neuvillette. It could just be someone saying it for us the viewers. Neuvillette might not have heard it.
2) Furina has no reason to say this because Furina has no clue about the full plan. She wouldn't have known that the plan was to have Neuvillette pardon the sins of Fontainians using the Hydro authority so there's no reason for her to call Neuvillette the advocate for Fontaine's future.
3) According to Neuvillette, he was invited to be Iudex by an anonymous letter that he surmised was written by Focalors, not Furina.
I love the completely nonchalant and casual reveal of ALAIN GUILLOTIN
Neuvillette is one of the strongest beings in Teyvat
We should all aspire to be like Neuvillette in our lives
Freminet being there saying "Hydro Dragon, Hydro Dragon, don't cry!" as a kid makes me want to cry because of how cute it is
He was not Freminet

@@princ3ss_fschl195yeah youre comment's stupid. Anyways, the hydro dragon dont cry chant was a very popular thing that fontaines kids do ever since neuv assumed his role as the chief justice so yeah many children have been doing that for 400 yrs and thats not freminet.
@@HypoZilla but its prob freminet cuz genshin likes to add cute details like that, and he was probably blonde (ik it was colorless, but by contrasting other colors its likely blonde hair). either way its a cute thing to think so im gonma keep thinking it regardless
Neuvillette so precious 😢
Its so beautiful i think, that from the time that traveler starts to walk to the time he turns around cant have been more than maybe 20 seconds. The downpour started and because of his emotions resonating with the water, neuvillette found such a strong sense of joy and closure that he almost immediately made the rain stop, which the two notice and turn back to smile at him. For the first tine in centuries, Neuvillette is at home.
This story quest is easily one of genshins best. If we ever get a diluvies ch.2, itll clear the whole roster except maybe zhongli and raiden
Damn he just smile!
I LOVED HIS STORY QUEST SOO MUCH OMGGGG but im a little concerned as to where this puts his character ... Should we expect the future AQ's to expand on what the meaning of his existence is?? This story quest seems to end on a very conclusive note, despite there still being questions left unanswered about his character
dude..hopefully this is not the end of neuv story quest because tbh, so many unanswered question about him. we need his rebirth story and how he become the chief justice and this one is more important. who find him, egeria or furina and how they met.
This quest broke my heart...

You're crying.
You are correct
and to that i say Nuevillette has singlehandedly brought me back to genshin as this made me start crying a bit
i think about this cutscene literally every day
(Slight spoilers for this quest)
Am I the only one who was suprised by the fact that Traveler actually spoke during this quest?
I think thats the first time they've done that outside of an Archon quest and Dain quest.
Maybe cuz his story quest is a continuation of the Archon quest
@@aloywong658that doesn't really add up. 2 of the Archon's Story Quests are a continuation after the Archon Quests, yet the Traveler hasn't spoken in either of them. So no such pattern exists.
Pretty sure they just had Traveler talk in that specific moment, since it was a very impactful moment to conclude the quest: answering Neuvilette's dying question of what his existence in this world means.
Fontaine’s really making the Traveler chatty.
They finally has the budget to hire zach in story quest 😂
I really liked the Alain and Seymour Reference, AND ARLECCINO APPEARENCE OML, She always look good
