Gnosis are not part of an Archon's seat of power or their overall divinity. Gnosis are like a padlock formed from the third descender's body, each archon used their gnosis for a different purpose. Morax made Mora with it, Ei (we don't know, maybe she did fuck all with it... or create the plane of eythemia perhaps), Venti used his to heal Dvalin who is a true blooded dragon of the world. Nahida's was used to operate the Akasha terminal and well we know where the hydro gnosis was all along anyway. The general idea is that the archons are as such because Celestia has put them on 'thrones' in Celestia that gives them their divine authority over the sovereign's power of elements. There's a theory that all gods in Teyvet are the descendants of the Primordial One "Phanes"'s shades. And this is why the Archon War happened, Celestia pre-ordained that Phanes' shades would devour each other in a power struggle filled with madness.
The gnosis is just the corpse of the third decender nothing really to do with the archon seat. Tge archon seat is the dragons power and as Focalors showed its a lot harder to get rid off than just handing it back.

Even just dying isn't enough, as another god will rise as Archon in their place. Dude, she literally knows nothing about them, and she was never been a real archon, she was been basically just a cursed on immortality human. She has never left Fontaine, and unlike Nahida does not have access to the Irminsul and the library with the entire history of Teyvat. All she can say about Archons is the basic information available to every resident of Teyvat.

It's actually interesting because all other original Archons went to Khaen'riah other than Rukkhadevata. It makes me wonder if that's part of the reason why Neuvillette doesn't seem as aggressive towards Nahida. It's also interesting that Neuvillette doesn't believe Zhongli's trial will result in a physical confrontation. It might be due to him knowing that Zhongli is tied to all manner of contracts as such, Zhongli's sins is most likely tied to a contract too.
It mostly stems over the fact that nahida didn't (let's pretend its nahida since that's the timeline we have because of the whole dendro archon quest) have to fight for the throne She just "yea sure, let's rule this land together anyway" Though still, she has the original sin of stealing appeps powers but given her job is the server admin of teyvat and she taking care of her dragon. As the lantern rite final quest now appeared, it's indeed Zhongli knew that meeting Neuvillete in person will be resulted as catastrophic confrontation between Fontaine and Liyue, hence he decided to avoid direct meeting with Neuvillete
I think Neuvillette would find that the archons we've met aren't the big baddies he thinks they are. With the exception of Maybe Zhongli, none of them were the ones to originally take the stolen power directly from the dragons. They all received it from someone else, whether it be their predecessor god or the former archon
the authorities were taken by the heavenly principals. the first wielders of those authorities were the original archons after winning the archon war. two of them being zhongli and venti. there were no predecessors for them. they received it from celestia. (the god of storms, decarabian, has never been the anemo archon and has therefor never wielded the authority of anemo)
the part where neuvi says that furina had to use her madness to fulfill her task makes me so sad😭 she truly lost herself and broke down but managed to complete her task and save the people of fontaine
I like how he is more confused about Venti being a drunkard than angry. Imagine having your kin's powers taken away and given to someone forcefully only to find out that the person that it was given to is not using it properly and yet wastes it on meaningless things. If I was Neuvillette, I would've been furious and demanded an explanation from Venti or Celestia.
Also, I think even in the Mondstadt quest, Venti gave the power of the Anemo Archon to Dvalin, the Anemo Dragon at the time. The Gnosis was just a pieceholder Venti doesn't even use, according to his own words, so.... Pretty sure Neuvilette will be even more confused but kind of ok with it?
When neuvallete put judgement on the 7 gods, he would understand how most of them dont have the say on the matter. How they are more like prisoners than allies from the heaven above.

Out of all people where their memory is changed to suit the new fact that Nahida is the original Archon of Dendro, Zhongli is the exception to be able to remember about Rukkhadevata (as all voice lines related to Archon of Dendro has changed except for Zhongli's). He is the most sus indeed and the trial of Zhongli from Neuvillette will be worth watching
Well, I do have alibi on why Zhongli remembers Rukkhadevata when Irminsul Tree changed 'everything' in this world 1. Even Manuscript at the Eternal Oasis got censored, maybe a history log book from Liyue won't be affected 2. Many transfer knowledges from Sumeru to Liyue and the history got recorded for ages 3. Is Zhongli the Sovereign Dragon himself (same as Neuvillette) and lied to Celestia that he won the Archon War to OBTAINED his original Power so He can use his Dragonic Power? See Neuvillette and Zhongli's eyes, they are similar, and also Zhongli's true form is the dragon itself. He has the capabilities to create all things (like Neuvillette who forgive Fontaine's original sins and gave them the immunity to Primordial Sea because it's his original power, Zhongli also had the capabilities of creating Azdhaha from a trapped spirit) Don't you think it's also Suspicious when Neuvillette called Zhongli as "Deus Auri" instead of Rex Lapis, Morax, or "Lord of Geo"? Sadly I don't think archons can simply "hand over" their elemental authority so easily. Otherwise I doubt Focalors would've need to go to such elaborate lengths in order to return Neuvillette's.

@@t.k.5088 Having rewatched that cutscene, I could see how that might be seen as a transferal of authority, but then I have to ask why Dvalin labeled it as "the power of the anemo archon" if it's meant to be a return of his sovereign power. Yes, this is very early into the story and if the writers did have this plot thread in mind this early they wouldn't have wanted to spoil it so quickly, but then I would think that he would at least call it "anemo authority" or even just "the power of anemo", instead of implicitly acknowledging the power as belonging to Venti. Even if they are friends, I would think Dvalin would still recognize it as Venti returning to him what was his in the first place. The only way I see this making sense is if it was a dub translation error, or if the writers weren't entirely sure where the story was going to go so early on. Plus, there's still the MASSIVE difference in the amount of effort it took Venti to do whatever he did in that cutscene vs what Focalors had to do to definitively return Neuvillette's power. 5 seconds vs 500 years is not an insignificant time gap.
@KyuubiDragon4 thing is: I don't think Dvalin was the original Anemo sovereign. Neuvillette isn't the og/1st hydro sovereign either, but he has the authority now. So Dvalin may have only called it "the power of the anemo archon" because it didn't belong to him. Maybe he isn't even old enough to be a "witness" of the usurpers.
Also, what Focalors did wasn't just transferring the authority. She destroyed the hydro throne/concept of hydro archon entirely, permanently severing the connection between hydro authority and celestia (which is why it took her 500 years gatheting indemnitium and fooling the heavenly principles). Whatever Venti did/is planning to do is yet to be seen. he's clearly not fond of Celestia, but all the archons we met so far (+ neuvillette) have pointed out that Focalors' plan was a 2000 iq move, so maybe he just didn't realize that destroying the throne was a possibility. Or he values his own life/ freedom too much to sacrifice himself.
These voicelines are actually pretty scary. I hope that in future quests Neuvillette won't go on a vendetta against the remaining Archons, because they're not at fault here. They weren't even around when the Primordial One stole the Dragon Souvereigns' powers. And besides being an Archon punished them enough as it is: Venti lost his only friend and chooses to drunk away his problems. Zhongli basically saw all his friends die over the years. Ei also lost all her friends, she wasn't even able to save her sister and eventually chose to abandon her physical body and isolate herself from the real world. Nahida spent all her life inprisoned by her own people, forgotten by them, thinking she was useless. And Focalors just got thrown into the Archon's responsibilities, she never wanted to be a god, she just wanted to live as a human. If there's something they should be judged for is them taking part in the destruction of Khaen'ria, but that only applies to Venti and Zhongli. I hope his new dragon powers won't get to Neuvillette's head, I love him and I don't want to need to fight him in the future Edit: I love how everybody down below are already placing bets on Zhongli vs Neuvillette lol 😂
@@sirlancevrot518 Neuvillette has powers of archon and dragon in one. He is far beyond level of Zhongli. Neuvillette after getting full powers basically flipped his fingers and transformed all fontainians into proper people (he technically created proper life).
I don’t think he’s threatening them. He will put all of them on trial but he doesn’t seem too serious about it. It’s almost like he’s like “Yeah, I have to do it but that can wait.” Edit: And to add to my point, he even said that he may not get physical with Zhongli. I believe he knows that it’s not the Archons fault that the Sovereigns were defeated and that none of them Archons are guilty of being “usurpers.” I think he just wants to make sure they’re not abusing their Authority. He doesn’t know what they’re like because he’s never met them so I think his so-called “hatred” towards them will change whenever he meets them, considering his tone changes whenever the Traveler tells him what each of the Seven are like. Judging any of the archons as 'usurpers' is kinda silly given the circumstances. Celestia pretty much came down to Teyvat one day and was like "all of you fight to the death for the seven thrones or else". None of the archons even had a choice, and pretty much had to fight and accept their positions and new power if they wanted to protect their people. It would be like stealing a car, forcing someone to drive it at gunpoint, and then claiming that they are a car thief. None of them were even alive when the sovereigns had their power stolen, none of them have any real allegience to Celestia, and half of them have good/tenable relations with their respective sovereigns. How are you gonna judge Nahida for taking the sovereigns power when Apep was literally like, "go ahead, I don't care. I'll just pick up the pieces if you fail."

I'm actually surprised traveler doesn't mention Dvalin to Neuvillette... At the end cutscene Venti pats his back while we ride on him and Dvalin says "Is that... Archon power?" When Forcalor returned Neuvillette his power I kind of recalled it.
The Traveller probably didn't know what Venti was doing and didn't Venti say he was sharing "his" power not returning the dragon's? If that's the case the only way to clear that up is to ask him. Even then Nevellite would probably still put him on trial for taking the power in the first place seeing how Ei has to be judged for inheriting the electros authority it despite never using the gnosis and pawning it off on Yae.

Even so, she’ll still be called to trial Nahida: Laments at the thought of calling her to trial, praises her sense of responsibility, shocked at what happened to her. Focalor: Literally cannot be put to trial (already happened and gave herself the death sentence) Furina: Will be attending the Opera Epiclese as an audience, should she return.
Favourite part about this is the fact that he calls Zhongli "Deus Auri" a name that has been used only one time before in the description of the Oathsworn Eye event weapons lore. There Orobashi states that he fled to Inazuma due to being unable to defeat Deus Auri, now confirming that Orobashi was originally a god of Liyue.
I think it’s because by his very nature as the God of Contracts, he should be the most loyal to Celestia compared to other Archons. And as the oldest archon and the strongest, he should not be treated lightly
I'm so glad Neuvillette vision of Furina changed drastically, From a dramatic and unpredictable god to the best performer of Teyvat, She's the real mvp of the aq and earned the respect of everyone (except haters being haters lol)

Dendro Dragon Apep is still alive. Nahida offered friendship with Dendro Dragon and it was rejected. Nahida helps fix Apep's injuries from forbidden knowledge. Venti has a friendship with the Anemo Dragon, hence forming Mondstadt's Four Winds defense structure.

Zhongli would vaporise fontain with uncountable meteor shower. Zhongli doesn't share his strength with some dragon like others. Just like Neuvillette but i think Zhongli being the god of war means going near him with the intention of fighting is not a good idea even for neuvillette he is young and doesn't have the experience of archon war. Also its written on some stone tablet that Zhongli is descender meaning rules of tevyat doesn't apply to him completely just like traveler. That's why he knew about the secret of traverler brother/sister. But was in a contract so unable to share it. But he did told traveler to continue the journey and promised it will help her. Even Irminsul have no data about that. Zhongli is sure something i hope they reveal that in future archon quests.

Okay, hear me out, what if Paimon is the third descender, after creating the gnoses, her power was all sucked out, then become the Paimon we all knew and love, then, she purposely "drowned" And got saved by us because she doesn't want the Archon's to use it because it brings bad luck, hence why everywhere we go, one Gnosis will be gone one by one.. But, that was just a headcanon tho, lol
Gnosis are not part of an Archon's seat of power or their overall divinity.
Gnosis are like a padlock formed from the third descender's body, each archon used their gnosis for a different purpose. Morax made Mora with it, Ei (we don't know, maybe she did fuck all with it... or create the plane of eythemia perhaps), Venti used his to heal Dvalin who is a true blooded dragon of the world. Nahida's was used to operate the Akasha terminal and well we know where the hydro gnosis was all along anyway.
The general idea is that the archons are as such because Celestia has put them on 'thrones' in Celestia that gives them their divine authority over the sovereign's power of elements. There's a theory that all gods in Teyvet are the descendants of the Primordial One "Phanes"'s shades. And this is why the Archon War happened, Celestia pre-ordained that Phanes' shades would devour each other in a power struggle filled with madness.
I'm more inclined to believe that paimon is one of the 3 moon sisters...

right. nahida has quite literally not did anything wrong in neuvilette’s eyes other than take up the role of dendro archon which she quite literally didn’t even ask for. she’s never killed or harmed any of the sovereigns, in fact she’s not even harmed or killed anyone at all. she’s been locked up for practically her whole life, which is a sentencing already when she did absolutely nothing. she didn’t ask to be dendro archon, she was created by rukkadevtta for the purpose of being her successor when she dies, she had no choice but to take up the dendro archon role- and the poor girl didn’t even get to be a proper archon because she was locked up by her own people for five centuries. infact, nahida even went out of her way to help the man who tried to murder her, steal her spot as archon, take her gnosis away from her and gave him a second chance to live among humans. nahida is the purest and kindest archon out of the seven. she’s literally done nothing wrong and i hope neuvilette soon realises that and lets her off

If the Gnosis is what gave the authority Focalors could.have just given it to Neuvellete and called it a day but she couldnt because the Gnosis has nothing to do with the thrones and as a status symbol, similar to a crown.
By Nature the Thrones and Gnosis are not.compatible, one is the corpse of a Decemder which means they are a power not from Teyvat and is not natural to teyvat.
The Sovereign Authority is the complete oposite of that, its the very basis and foundational power of Teyvat, the very essemce of Teyvats power.
There is a reason that Focalors had to decieve the principles so it doesnt notice the throne being broken while all the other archons quite literally just use the Gnosis as tools with Rukha turnung hers into the Akasha or Ei just pawning it off to Yae.

Even just dying isn't enough, as another god will rise as Archon in their place. The Archon throne needs to be destroyed to restore the dragon sovereigns to full power, which requires an ungodly ammount of energy.
Not sure if full power Neuvilette can destroy archon thrones himself though.

It's actually interesting because all other original Archons went to Khaen'riah other than Rukkhadevata. It makes me wonder if that's part of the reason why Neuvillette doesn't seem as aggressive towards Nahida. It's also interesting that Neuvillette doesn't believe Zhongli's trial will result in a physical confrontation. It might be due to him knowing that Zhongli is tied to all manner of contracts as such, Zhongli's sins is most likely tied to a contract too.
It mostly stems over the fact that nahida didn't (let's pretend its nahida since that's the timeline we have because of the whole dendro archon quest) have to fight for the throne

As the lantern rite final quest now appeared, it's indeed Zhongli knew that meeting Neuvillete in person will be resulted as catastrophic confrontation between Fontaine and Liyue, hence he decided to avoid direct meeting with Neuvillete

I think Neuvillette would find that the archons we've met aren't the big baddies he thinks they are. With the exception of Maybe Zhongli, none of them were the ones to originally take the stolen power directly from the dragons. They all received it from someone else, whether it be their predecessor god or the former archon
Not to mention they all basically thrown away their gnosis and doesn't want anything to do with Celestia anymore.
the authorities were taken by the heavenly principals. the first wielders of those authorities were the original archons after winning the archon war. two of them being zhongli and venti. there were no predecessors for them. they received it from celestia. (the god of storms, decarabian, has never been the anemo archon and has therefor never wielded the authority of anemo)

I like how he is more confused about Venti being a drunkard than angry. Imagine having your kin's powers taken away and given to someone forcefully only to find out that the person that it was given to is not using it properly and yet wastes it on meaningless things. If I was Neuvillette, I would've been furious and demanded an explanation from Venti or Celestia.
Also, I think even in the Mondstadt quest, Venti gave the power of the Anemo Archon to Dvalin, the Anemo Dragon at the time.

Out of all people where their memory is changed to suit the new fact that Nahida is the original Archon of Dendro, Zhongli is the exception to be able to remember about Rukkhadevata (as all voice lines related to Archon of Dendro has changed except for Zhongli's). He is the most sus indeed and the trial of Zhongli from Neuvillette will be worth watching
Well, I do have alibi on why Zhongli remembers Rukkhadevata when Irminsul Tree changed 'everything' in this world
1. Even Manuscript at the Eternal Oasis got censored, maybe a history log book from Liyue won't be affected
2. Many transfer knowledges from Sumeru to Liyue and the history got recorded for ages
3. Is Zhongli the Sovereign Dragon himself (same as Neuvillette) and lied to Celestia that he won the Archon War to OBTAINED his original Power so He can use his Dragonic Power? See Neuvillette and Zhongli's eyes, they are similar, and also Zhongli's true form is the dragon itself. Sadly I don't think archons can simply "hand over" their elemental authority so easily. Otherwise I doubt Focalors would've need to go to such elaborate lengths in order to return Neuvillette's.

@@t.k.5088 Having rewatched that cutscene, I could see how that might be seen as a transferal of authority, but then I have to ask why Dvalin labeled it as "the power of the anemo archon" if it's meant to be a return of his sovereign power. Yes, this is very early into the story and if the writers did have this plot thread in mind this early they wouldn't have wanted to spoil it so quickly, but then I would think that he would at least call it "anemo authority" or even just "the power of anemo", instead of implicitly acknowledging the power as belonging to Venti. Even if they are friends, I would think Dvalin would still recognize it as Venti returning to him what was his in the first place. The only way I see this making sense is if it was a dub translation error, or if the writers weren't entirely sure where the story was going to go so early on.
Plus, there's still the MASSIVE difference in the amount of effort it took Venti to do whatever he did in that cutscene vs what Focalors had to do to definitively return Neuvillette's power. 5 seconds vs 500 years is not an insignificant time gap.
@KyuubiDragon4 thing is: I don't think Dvalin was the original Anemo sovereign. Neuvillette isn't the og/1st hydro sovereign either, but he has the authority now. So Dvalin may have only called it "the power of the anemo archon" because it didn't belong to him. Maybe he isn't even old enough to be a "witness" of the usurpers.
Also, what Focalors did wasn't just transferring the authority. She destroyed the hydro throne/concept of hydro archon entirely, permanently severing the connection between hydro authority and celestia (which is why it took her 500 years gatheting indemnitium and fooling the heavenly principles). Whatever Venti did/is planning to do is yet to be seen. he's clearly not fond of Celestia, but all the archons we met so far (+ neuvillette) have pointed out that Focalors' plan was a 2000 iq move, so maybe he just didn't realize that destroying the throne was a possibility. Or he values his own life/ freedom too much to sacrifice himself.
These voicelines are actually pretty scary. I hope that in future quests Neuvillette won't go on a vendetta against the remaining Archons, because they're not at fault here. They weren't even around when the Primordial One stole the Dragon Souvereigns' powers. And besides being an Archon punished them enough as it is:
Venti lost his only friend and chooses to drunk away his problems.
Zhongli basically saw all his friends die over the years.
Ei also lost all her friends, she wasn't even able to save her sister and eventually chose to abandon her physical body and isolate herself from the real world.
Nahida spent all her life inprisoned by her own people, forgotten by them, thinking she was useless.
And Focalors just got thrown into the Archon's responsibilities, she never wanted to be a god, she just wanted to live as a human.
If there's something they should be judged for is them taking part in the destruction of Khaen'ria, but that only applies to Venti and Zhongli.
I hope his new dragon powers won't get to Neuvillette's head, I love him and I don't want to need to fight him in the future

I believe he knows that it’s not the Archons fault that the Sovereigns were defeated and that none of them Archons are guilty of being “usurpers.” I think he just wants to make sure they’re not abusing their Authority. He doesn’t know what they’re like because he’s never met them so I think his so-called “hatred” towards them will change whenever he meets them, considering his tone changes whenever the Traveler tells him what each of the Seven are like. It makes me giggle a bit when people say he hates them because he worked with an “Archon” for five hundred years 😂😂

Judging any of the archons as 'usurpers' is kinda silly given the circumstances.
Celestia pretty much came down to Teyvat one day and was like "all of you fight to the death for the seven thrones or else". None of the archons even had a choice, and pretty much had to fight and accept their positions and new power if they wanted to protect their people.
It would be like stealing a car, forcing someone to drive it at gunpoint, and then claiming that they are a car thief.
None of them were even alive when the sovereigns had their power stolen, none of them have any real allegience to Celestia, and half of them have good/tenable relations with their respective sovereigns.
How are you gonna judge Nahida for taking the sovereigns power when Apep was literally like, "go ahead, I don't care. I'll just pick up the pieces if you fail."
The Anemo elemental dragon Dvalin is Barbatos' friend for almost 2000 years. Neuvillette's judgment is meaningless.

I'm actually surprised traveler doesn't mention Dvalin to Neuvillette... At the end cutscene Venti pats his back while we ride on him and Dvalin says "Is that... Archon power?" When Forcalor returned Neuvillette his power I kind of recalled it.
The Traveller probably didn't know what Venti was doing and didn't Venti say he was sharing "his" power not returning the dragon's? If that's the case the only way to clear that up is to ask him. Even then Nevellite would probably still put him on trial for taking the power in the first place seeing how Ei has to be judged for inheriting the electros authority it despite never using the gnosis and pawning it off on Yae.

Zhongli would vaporise fontain with uncountable meteor shower. Zhongli doesn't share his strength with some dragon like others. Just like Neuvillette but i think Zhongli being the god of war means going near him with the intention of fighting is not a good idea even for neuvillette he is young and doesn't have the experience of archon war. Also its written on some stone tablet that Zhongli is descender meaning rules of tevyat doesn't apply to him completely just like traveler. That's why he knew about the secret of traverler brother/sister. But was in a contract so unable to share it. But he did told traveler to continue the journey and promised it will help her. Even Irminsul have no data about that. Zhongli is sure something i hope they reveal that in future archon quests.

As much i know descenters means someone who doesn't belong to tevat. For example traveler he doesn't belong to celestia yet he is considered as descender. Also Zhongli is not affected by irminsul as he knows all about travelers brother/sister whereas irminsul has zero data about that.

It's interesting to think that a time may come in the future where Neuvillette does in fact try to relinquish authority from the other Archons. Let's be honest, would they even fight back? Every single one up to this point doesn't even want to do their jobs any more! (Except Nahida I guess, but she literally just got out of baby jail and someone needed to step up to get Sumeru back on track after the fallout in the Akademiya.)

Warms my heart to see Nahida being respected, she deserved it and it makes up for all the hate this horrible community gives her for invalid reasons.
