At last is my favorite song by etta James ❤❤ ❤ ❤❤😊😊 Nobody can sing next song like etta James She will make you go to heaven. When she sings that song.

Chuck Berry died in 2017. What I do find interesting is that Johnny Otis, the guy that discovered and renamed Etta, passed away three days before Etta died.
That’s lovely tbh I just wonder if she knew Etta slept with Ike but Ike was for the streets and I’m sure Tina knew that he was cheating but I wonder if she knew if it was with Etta ??
This is by far one of the best. Cadillac Records is also one of my favorite movies. Etta lived a very interesting life. God has definitely been by her side throughout her yrs.
I just found the video yesterday. I saw the RUclips video of Beyonce singing Id rather go blind, had to get the movie. Now I'm discovering The real Etta at 79yrs old
I watch or listen to documentaries every night. The gentleman narrating this doc made it head and shoulders above the others. I felt like I was sitting around with my friend as he told me a story. Hands down, the best narrator I’ve ever heard. Thank you.
I saw Etta James in concert 3 times! She was a powerhouse of a singer! I had bought her autobiography before I saw her and she autographed for me! I agree with you, she needs her own Biopic!
the song that she wrote about her boyfriend Harvey Leaving her, was called "All I could Do was Cry" which was originally supposed to go to, Aretha Franklin's sister Erma Franklin, but when Etta James sung the demo for the song, she poured so much emotion into the song, that Leonard was like they got a release this, and Erma Franklin, but it was the best thing they could ever do, because it was a very big hit for Etta James, and it was talking about her watching the love of her life leave her, knowing the woman that he was with, and her basically going to the wedding, and watching them get married, while all she could do was cry, with the catchy lyrics, "For them Life is Just Beginning, while mine is ending, And All I Could Do Was Cry"
My husband and I went to Vail to hear Etta about 25 yrs ago. Unfortunately, she couldn't tolerate the altitude due to health issues, so we never saw her in person. BUT, I may be a white girl, but I can say without any hesitation, Etta James is one of my top 3 female artists of all time. "I Would Rather Go Blind" is the song I played for my husband that changed his mind about blues music. I love that song, as well as most all her songs. Her voice is like Patsy Cline's. No one will ever sound like her. One and done. Amazing talent and never got the rewards she deserved in this life. I pray she has them in Heaven now. God rest her soul. She is truly an amazing talent.
I would love to see stories on Byron Fox, Lee Reherman, Della Reese, Taylor Negron, Jesse Niesson, Lisa Robin Kelly, Suzanne Krull, Ron Lester, Pam the Funkstress, Seagram, Virginia Capers, Robert Guillaume, Natalie Desselle Reid, Tame One, Hurricane G, Tommy Morrison, Kristoff St. John, Rosetta LeNoire, Bill Nunn, Naya Rivera, Andre Harrell, Kirsty Macnoll, Special One of the Conscious Daughters, Melvin Edmonds and Stuart Scott
We appreciate you and all the hard work it took, in making this short story. Agree with you 100%, there needs to be a biographical movie about Etta's life. 🙏🙏💜💜

Thank you as always. I remember my first love and thought " At Last" was song that fit him. Wasn't that long ago but he definitely was not worth loving .
If you ever look at Sam Cooke in the casket, his body definitely sustained more trauma than what the official story says, so what Etta is saying makes sense.
@@roselynholloway7863 I believe that Eliza Boyer delivered Sam to his kidnappers. They kidnapped him and beat him to death, then delivered his dead body to the hotel for him to be supposedly found dead. Elisa and Bertha Franklin were both women with track records of setting up men and robbing them, so they had them telling that rehearsed story concocted by industry powers that be and the police about Sam going crazy, trying to rape Elisa and fighting with Bertha before being shot. The ladies received immunity for other crimes in exchange for cooperating in this. Sam may or may not have been shot. Nobody heard a gunshot coming from the hotel that night and the bullet allegedly taken from Sam's body was misplaced and never found. Supposedly, Bertha Franklin was involved in a similar situation about 6 months before Sam died. They say she died 18 months after Sam, but I have heard that she was put in a witness protection program and died in the 1990s. In the 1970s, Elisa Boyer was involved in another incident like this, but spent time in prison for it and was eventually released. She's possibly still alive, about 80 and has dementia. But Sam was doing too much. They couldn't have a black man getting that successful in business and inspiring other black people to do the same. They had to stop him, so they made an example of him.
Yes , I know but she needs her own biopic . That didn’t depict her own life fully , Just a small part of it and that was dramatized . I believe she deserves her own movie about her own life because it sounds very interesting in my opinion and would be a smash hit .

The movie Cadillac Records was directed by Darnell Martin the same director who directed I Like it Like That and Prison Song
Hope you do a story on Johnny Guitar Watson
I loved this episode, Etta was one of my dad's favorite singers every time I hear her I think about him, I hope that they're up in heaven and he can hear her sing live, Rest in power Miss Etta James, enjoy Daddy I miss you so much❤
This was another 🔥 ass episode!!! I swear brother, u keep the hits coming! It's sad she got hooked on those drugs & loved bad boys! That has alot to do with her childhood unfortunately! That's not healthy behavior! I know sooo many women like her though! May she R.I.P.!
