I just adore these women. Am so sad that they have all left us, but what joy and laughs they brought to millions every week, and still do. Beautifully written and superbly acted, it’s difficult to imagine that they were not real. Would have loved to have met all of them.
Exactly!! I feel as if I not only knew these terrific ladies, but actually lived with them, as I invited them into my house in every place I’ve ever lived. They have always been there. And always will be,,, you’re right, so incredibly sad that Betty has just passed away, an joined the other golden girls to that kitchen table in heaven, having cheesecake! But at least we always have the show to lift us up and make us feel less lonely!
They all were very attractive for their age (apart from Sophia’s make up.. Estelle was pretty for her age in real life )Blanche was the youngest anyway.
10:16. “A yankee a yan…..that is incredible. And to think they made a movie about that deadbeat Gandhi. Well there’s a story like this that hasn’t been told.”
I find it funny how Sophia always convinces others there’s nothing more important than family and whatever it is you should make up with them meanwhile she didn’t talk with her sister for 30 years for something that didn’t even happen. She may be wise sometimes but she’s very hypocritical very often.
Yes, *'Rose,'* *'Dorothy,'* and *'Blanche'* were supposed to be in their fifties during the show's run (1985-1992). Only *Rue McClanahan* (b. 1934) was playing her true age. *Betty White* (b. 1922) and *Bea Arthur* (b. 1922) were both in their sixties. *Estelle Getty* (b. 1923) was playing two decades older as *'Sophia,'* who was supposed to be in her eighties.
@@VinMar-m6w That's bizarre because they were all retired and only occasionally worked or volunteered. Their ages being in their 60's would have made more sense to the story line.

"Blanche Devereaux" is actually French for "White, From the Eure River"
Really! How interesting!

I couldn't watch it for years! It made me cry! Now, my Golden's are gone! That hurts my heart!
4:21 is the "stunned" bit!!!

A story like this that hasn’t been told 🤣 fn dorothy she was amazing lol
RIP
Interesting editing and loved it.
Love Dorothy…….”oh knock it off”!
Blanche just said she was always, petite. And yet in one episode she was fat as a kid.
She admits that only after Dorothy sees her picture as a kid 🤣

The Benjamin skit is hilarious 🤣
My Mom loved this show and I watch them and Judge Judy
I love how Blanche criticizes her two sisters one to her face and the other behind her back.
i enjoy watching and rewatching Golden Girls, of the 3 channels it aired, you can tell which aired where even without the channel watermark xD

And if anyone knows about tricks…?😂
Can anyone explain to the poor European all these Yankie jokes Blanche is throwing so often?
A yankee is an American who lives in the North (especially during the American Civil War).
@@CrazyOurson so they have bad rap?
@@dododimitrov9657 the Yankees won the civil war. That’s why Blanche always makes remarks about them she is a proud southern belle. :-)
5:14 Hunnicutt? As in, nevermind...
Benjamin wasn’t black
I went to my senior prom with a YANKEE!!!
I thought he would end up being a teacher or the principal.
He was from New Jersey
4:58 oh knock it off!!!!!
What is Yankee, and what is wrong with them, I loveģț⁹
That's a good question I wish i knew the answer myself.
Yankee from New York. Texas in the South. There was a US Civil War hundreds of years ago.
Are they really supposed to be in their 50s? They look so much older. I guess people were really old back then.
😂🤣😂 that’s hilarious.

Even more weird, when Bea Arthur was playing "Maude" in the 70s she looked even OLDER than this. Pull up a clip, see for yourself.
