    This is a great video for showing everything. The illustrations of the knots was simple and ideal for a learner with the large size materials and knots easy to follow. This is so far the best example for this that I have seen across the internet.

    Thanks for posting. A really interesting video for me. I took up drop shot fishing a few weeks ago (a technique I already love) and have been catching Perch and small Pike on my local canal. From looking at RUclips vids, including your excellent one, I can now see other ways to use the gear I've already bought. It appears there is no end to the variety of waters, both fresh and sea, that can be fished with this truly versatile tackle.

    Great video - I have been toying with the idea of LRF from the beach on the Norfolk coast, where I am from, but didn't know if it was going to be worth a punt or not. You have convinced me to have a go - although I am not entirely sure LRF gear is quite man enough (the water isn't as calm as in the first part of your video) so I am going to step up my gear a little - but still use your techniques. Top job.

    With the knot you did for the Dropshot hook, if you do a single knot and pass it through the loop and tie it you can then pass the tag end back through the hook eye. This makes its stand flat against your line which is perfect for drop shot!

These are the fish of the future. For catch & release to be respected in full these fish need to go back in same condition as they come out. No excuses gentlemen

    Great video fella, thank you for sharing. Two questions - 1) the water looks fairly coloured, I've had the mindset that LRF or for that matter, any lure fishing, is really only effective in clearer water? Whats your thoughts on trying this in the murky waters of the Bristol Channel LOL. 2) what is that clicking/beeping in the background? I've noticed it on a few of your videos, it sounds like a fax machine! Keep 'em coming dude, love it.

    • @fishingintheukgarywood
      @fishingintheukgarywood  6 лет назад

      Thanks Phil, the water was quite clear when I filmed this but is usually quite murky around here so it’s worth trying in the Bristol Channel. Sorry about the beeping it’s the microphone picking up the sound of the GoPro I’ll have to try and keep it further away from it or get a new mic.

    Hi Gary, great video. Just a quick one. I'm from north shields and live my LRF during the summer but how do you find LRF in the winter on our coast? I've been told my best bet would be to head to the beaches on a calm day and target flounder. Cheers

      Hi Daryl, thanks. I haven’t been able to get out and do much lrf fishing over the winter but yeah I think the beach for flounder would be a good choice and if you don’t have any luck on the beach you could try the rivers for flounder, whiting and codling. I’ve read a couple of catch reports of some decent flounder and smelt being caught up the river Tyne from the British Airways carpark. Let me know how you get on thanks.
