@@LRFandHRF I go every year. I use my carp rod for Bass and mackerel fishing. I've fished all over Brixham. The berry head platform. Over near the Battery grounds on the rocks. The breakwater. Sharkham point So many great places to fish. Beautiful place to fish and relax. Thanks for sharing mate. Tight lines and don't let the arseholes who cast over you make you move. I enjoyed watching that thanks. Will check out your other video's. Top man 👍👍🎣🎣
Cracking video mate, I learnt a lot from that thank you. It’s given me plenty of little tips for when I venture down to the South/South West for a road trip. Appreciate it.
Great session and good to see you out again. 🙏 Cant beat catching mackerel on lures - best fighting fish ever. Btw, I also tail hooked a mac before. Also love the time lapses. I wanna live in/near Brixham.. 🎣🎣🎣
Thanks mate. Knew I wouldn't be boulder hoping just yet so spent time leaving the time-lapse running. Adds a perspective of the amount of time passing I think. Can't beat a good mackerel fight on the right gear. Feather on a broomstick have never appealed to me. But on LRF it's next level. Love it
Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Generally not a fan of chill out music but the soundtrack was spot on. Great fishing skills. Liked and subscribed
Just subscribed Brixham must be close to Cornwall and Devon is it with you getting mackerel this early in the year, we won't get them for at least another month here at teesside were I am
Thanks for the sub. They are here all year. Have caught them all the way through winter. Check out my Winter League Campaign Playlist. You'll be surprised what you get all through winter down here.
@@LRFandHRF you lucky man I wish we had them all year lol, I've got a drop shot rod for my perch fishing I mite give it a go on my piers with some ragworm see if I can find some wrasse
Thanks. I enjoyed this session. I use Major Craft Dangan Braid on 6lb and 8lb. Casts well and don't need heavier for what I do. Don't forget to drop a sub as there will be plenty more content of mackerel this summer
I always use a fluorocarbon leader on the end of any braid I use. 5ft to 7ft depending on the rod length. I personally don't like the knot going through the eyes so have the leader short enough to cast. If that makes sense
Whatever I have at the time really. But normally have 5lb, 8lb and 10lb for the three set ups. Plus 25lb if I fancy a bit of Wrassing on the Heavey Rod. I find sea fish don't care what leader you use but Freshwater fish will spook more from a leader
The seals got busy in Brixham since the 80s. Cant really complain but its. a fact that they have decimated the pollack, wrasse, bass, dab, small plaice and flounder stocks.
Great video! Went to Brixham for the first time last weekend and had a cracking time Fishing for wrasse!
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. Brixham is full of allsorts. One of the best places in the UK for sure.
I've been going to Brixham since 1968 love the place and brilliant fishing on light gear. Will be there in June and August. Great video mate
It's one of the best places isn't it. Glad you liked the video. Plenty of others from down there on the channel too

Superstitious nonsense comment right here

Thanks Darren. Good luck if you go. There were plenty there. Just very deep down. The rest if the fishing was pretty slow

Thanks Jim. Plenty more on the channel and normally upload weekly. Thanks for the sub.
The post production is superb also. You could teach the professionals a thing or two
Thank you very much 😊 not bad for just using a gopro and phone camera 😀
Awesome

great video mate, i need to do more lrf, which those areas where closer to me!
Thanks mate. Whereabouts are you? Bet there's allsorts if you hunt then down
@@LRFandHRF Essex haha, I've done a few videos on Essex LRF, it's hard as it's all really muddy around here! We do have some gobies etc!
nice session with lots of fish, just out of interest what line do you use and what breaking strain thanks for any info.

Great video 📹 👍 I'm heading down in June do you find it fishes better on the flood or the ebb or any particular state of tide?
Thanks Jack. In June you'll catch fish all day long. The tides don't matter really. You can always find something
Flood is always better to fish up. I am Brixham born and bred.
How far out do the rocks go there cuz every time I fish there I’m worried that I’m gonna snag if I let it drop
I'd say 10-15m at low water? Maybe? I normally cast out, let it hit the bottom and half way back wind it up.
@@LRFandHRF do you reckon with the conditions we’ve had recently it would be worth going there tommorow and giving it a try?
Thanks Dan, good video of a good session, shame about the rain and the idiot with no manners.
Yeah. But there's always one. I'm not one to care too much about idiots so just moved on. Was a great morning still
Always too chicken to send pricey lures down that deep. But it looks like it can pay.😊
Its fine in most places. Its a nice clear bottom there so was all good. Fish light and you tend not to snag up anyway. He who dares and all that
How can you tell what sex the mackerel was before you landed it My son wants to know thanks ?
I have no idea how to tell even once they are landed. Not sure there's a way to tell?
Do you use rubbing leader on your setups or just the braid you mention in description straight through to lure? I'm looking at getting into LRF.
I always use a fluorocarbon leader on the end of any braid I use. 5ft to 7ft depending on the rod length. I personally don't like the knot going through the eyes so have the leader short enough to cast. If that makes sense
@@LRFandHRF Thanks for the quick reply. Which fluorocarbon do you use/strength etc?

I've been fishing the otherside of the water at Churston Cove and caught bugger all. 🫤
Oh. How were you fishing?
15-30g hrf, 3" weedless slug-go through the weed, Westin 360 over the weed, surface plug yada yada. Lol.
Wow. Normally something to be found down there. Not great tides though
All the gear and no idea lol
