    Nice to wake up to another fantastic Devon Lerfer video. One of my fave lerfers. Thank you for all the info you provide too - looking to do some shopping to downscale my lure kit with some new lrf gear. I'm hooked on lrf videos atm.     Amazing session mate. The Instagram post on the day didn't do it justice like the video did! Very enjoyable watch! Those long summer sessions feel like a distant memory. So was nice to be taken back. More please!!!!! oh, 19:53 - How does a Mackerel go??? Haha

      @@DevonLerfer got a lot of advice from someone down your way which was kind. Brought an Aikido 1-7g rod and Aikido 1000 reel. Going to keep it simple and learn drop shotting first then venture out. Trouble is I live in Kent so may have to have a weekend to Devon/Cornwall to look at different species.

      @@jamesrobertson9930 that's a great set up mate, starting off with the right gear gives you a fighting chance at least! Dropshot is a good rig to start with, a split shot rig is also really simple and effective. Not sure if you're on Facebook but The Big Lerf group that we run is full of friendly and helpful folk if you're looking for a broader range of advice and opinions 🙂

      Hi there, I'm not sure if I do in this video, but in another Brixham video I spotted female cuckoo wrasse, which are all pink, whereas the males are bright blue and pink 🙂🎣

    Could you kindly remind me what cheb and hook you are using Rich.
    You did mention before but
    I've forgotten.
    Every 1-4g cheb i buy seems to have thick wire so i cannot pass my size 12-16 hook onto them
    Help!!!
    Ps: what an awesome coloured ballan that was, so dark but with a nice copper coloured lateral line.

      Hi mate, I tend to get my chebs from predator tackle and use a decoy sg-3 hook usually 👍 it's not that easy to find suitable hooks to fit a Cheb unfortunately!
      Was blown away by that ballan, one of the most impressive looking ones I've caught!

    What size hooks are you using for split shot rigs, are they around size 16 or smaller?

      Yeah 16 is my go to size for all round stuff mate. I'll scale down a bit if targeting the smaller gobies or stuff like that, but a size 16 covers most species I'm likely to encounter 👍

      Thank you for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed watching! The rod I'm using to start with is a Tailwalk Ajist, rated up to 5g and the other rod is a Major Craft Truzer, which is rated up to 7g 👍🎣

      @@TheTangledAngler haha, always happy to help if I can! I was using a 0.4pe braid (around 6lb breaking strain) and 4lb fluorocarbon leader 👍

    Brilliant session! Just wondering, would you tie rigs up on the spot? And would you switch rigs due to snagging or more for targeting different fish?

      Thanks! Yes I tie all my rigs on the spot, some prefer to pre tie certain rigs though. I switch rigs depending on what I'm targeting or to suit the ground I'm fishing, although a snag will often be what prompts a change of method!

      @@paulspencer434 on this occasion I was using 5g and 7g metals but generally anything between 3g and 7g, depending on location, conditions and what I'm targeting 🙂

      Pouting and bib are the same species but poor cod are an entirely different species, different fin positions, different colour and different shape 🙂
