Thanks for sharing. As I am right handed, I always buy a reel with changeable handle sides, and I have mine on the right hand side, which I find more comfortable.
Normally you hold the rod in your dominant hand and wind with your "weaker" hand. If you are right handed you would normally hold your rod in your right and reel with your left, and vice versa. You are an exception 😊
Been looking for a bag like that, ordered one . has arrived and looking at it ,brill just the job 👍, it's good that you do some reviews of the gear you are using they are a great help 🙂👍, unlike a lot of vloggers.
hiya gary. thinking about fishing the fish quay as apparently its an easy spot. i would use an up to 25g spinning rod(is that ok) and a spinner for coalies or whatever. with probably 10-15lb line. how would i actually get the fish up the river wall as its a distance from the water? also, would it be worth using a sabiki rig here for some livebaits which i can then float fish off whitley pipe?
Hi, that sounds like a good set up. I usually handball them up when I'm fishing the other side of the river with a similar setup. I'm not sure about whitley Pipe as I haven't fished there before.
@@fishingintheukgarywood i went fishing off whitley pipe today with a handline and float rig, with raw prawns. no fish caught, i couldnt cast that far.
Welcome back Gary. Nice little session. I use the Daiwa rod along with a rigged and ready RR 3000 reel and take about the same amount of kit. Travel light 😊
Thanks, after i broke a couple of the eyes on my first one (in my car door). I finally found another on amazon when they came back in stock. Tight lines 👍
Great video Gary nice to see you back , was only just talking to you this morning about spinning and you just uploaded a video on it , buzzing! Gonna try give it a go on Saturday you recommend any decent spots I was just thinking to keep it local and do some spinning at the gryone ??
Thanks mate. The rocks along the leas in shields are canny. I'm not sure if they have the end of the groyne still blocked off aswell but think you can still fish from the start of shields pier up to the gate.
Hi mate, I’m just starting to get back into fishing after many years away due to health reasons, can I ask you, when do the mackerel come onto South Shields pier? Many thanks , Paul.
Thanks Paul, as Carl said the piers were damaged in the storm, the only part of shields pier you will be able to fish from is the first part up to the gate. The mackerel usually come in about June / July and when they are fully in you can catch them from the small beach next to the pier ( little haven beach) and also from the river at the walkway just along from the groyne.
@@fishingintheukgarywood Hello Gary your videos are very informative always they are what got me back to sea fishing after many years showing that shore fishing can be so good as well not just the expensive boat trips.
Nice to see you back out Gary 👍
Thanks Adam 👍

@@fishingintheukgarywood you rekon it would be worth giving the gate a try for some coalies and polluck?
i think what would be good is uing an underwater camera while fishing. that would be interesting
The goby lure is a copy of a Megabass Dark Sleeper
Thanks, I couldn't remember what it was.
Hi mate, I’m just starting to get back into fishing after many years away due to health reasons, can I ask you, when do the mackerel come onto South Shields pier? Many thanks , Paul.
I forgot to add, I’m really enjoying your videos, they are mostly what I watch on tv now.
Problem you will have is that after the big storm shields + Roker piers were both badly damaged and unlikely to be open for along time this year.
Thanks Paul, as Carl said the piers were damaged in the storm, the only part of shields pier you will be able to fish from is the first part up to the gate. @@fishingintheukgarywood Hopefully the beaches won't be as manic as the pier when the mackerel come in.
Hi Gary
