    So much to like about this video. Single hooks, so much better in my opinion. Catch and release, only taking what you’re going to eat 👍 then the cook up, from sea to plate. Yum 👍thanks for the video!

      Thanks for commenting Peter. Grilled fish on the beach is just the best. I’m sure there will be comments about handling mackerel before releasing them and that they don’t survive. In my opinion they have a better chance of surviving than being chapped on the head.

    It's Stevie Gerrard with a Scottish accent 😉 joking aside, great video, and well done putting the smaller ones back, too many people take those home and then complain when there's no fish about the year after.

      What are circle hooks?

    • @johnmaggiorino4493
      @johnmaggiorino4493 18 дней назад +1

      @michaelsrowland If you might not know....they have a point that bends back towards shank of hook,thereby not hooking fish deep and have less chance of fish throwing hook because of its shape...circular in setting movement and unhooking movement

    Great video, I got out on a last minute session today just used limpets collected off the rocks met up with a friend and fished 2 hours b4 high tide to 1 hour passed and we both caught a wrasse and I was more happy for my m8 cuz he's fished with me a few times but today was the first time he hooked up. Also glad you don't believe the rumour that holding a mackerel will kill it shortly after release I've heard it but they would be floating around everywhere if that were true in a couple of places but aslong as you treat em like any fish you intend to release they should be A ok.

    What do you look for in an ideal mackerel mark?
    I’m only able to fish off the rocks a couple of times per year and usually catch coalies, pollock and the odd wrasse. So my knowledge is very limited when it comes to sea fishing.
