    This is some of the best fishing content I've seen on youtube. Thanks for doing all the underwater footage. Seriously the best metal spoon vid that I've seen.

    These are all the rage lately and you’re a big reason why, great job Tony. I don’t think many people realize how much time it takes to film and edit these videos. It’s a big reason why I believe youtubers should support each other. Thank you for your positivity and excellent/helpful videos....and happy new year!

      It’s so nice of you. I agree with you. When we stand together, we can do way better things.
      Year 2020 was the worst in my life, but I feel like I am blessed because I’ve met many good friends like you.
      Hopefully we all are blessed and happier together in 2021.
      Happy New Year brother :)

    Great underwater lure footage - really helpful and thanks for putting the time in to get the shots. I've used this lure to catch mackerel here in the UK, mainly twitching it up and letting it sink around mid range water depths.

    When using any jig or artificial lures, it’s a reactionary bite, it’s a good idea to use a heavier line than 6lbs.

    • @CastNreeL82
      @CastNreeL82  Год назад

      I use thicker lines normally but the day I wanted try finesse fishing. No matter I lose my lure or fish. Just for fun 😅

    When you use this technique, are you using a swivel to keep from getting line twists in the 6# mono ?? 2nd, Is this technique something you can do on sandy bottoms only ??

    • @CastNreeL82
      @CastNreeL82  3 года назад +1

      I don’t use swivels for them cuz spins too much. I get less line twist with the swivels but presentation of the lure not so good.
      2nd,
      I use the technique any place, sandy, rocky or other. When the bottom creates snagging, I take the treble hook off and put an assist hook only.

    Does color matter? Or any color would work?

    • @CastNreeL82
      @CastNreeL82  10 месяцев назад

      Color matters sometimes. One color catches the most. But the performance of the lures is more important to me personally.

    Cool but isn’t it risky with 6lb test line?

    • @CastNreeL82
      @CastNreeL82  4 года назад

      Yes, it is risky but I enjoy that hahaha That’s part of fishing :)
      I think that’s okay for halibut or some fishes like croaker and corbina. But big sting rays? I’m going to lose all the lines I have lol

  • @ozkersnchez2368

    Do you lose a lot of lures doing this method?

    • @CastNreeL82
      @CastNreeL82  4 года назад +1

      It depends on the place. I don’t use it at rocky and bushy areas. I am lucky at the surf and jetty so far, didn’t lose any yet :)

  • @jplee3
    @jplee3 4 года назад +1

    Curious - where do you usually tie/connect your line or clip (if you use a clip)? Do you tie to the split ring directly or to the solid ring? Do you find differences in the action of lure depending on the ring it's tied to as well as if you're using a TA clip vs tied straight to your line?

    • @CastNreeL82
      @CastNreeL82  4 года назад

      I prefer tie the line to the split ring. I don’t connect anything to the solid ring. I leave it just for the hooks. I believe when the hooks get more free to move, get less chance unhook.
      And I try not using any clip. I think the simple tackle I have I get better chance to get a bite. I use it sometimes when I am lazy :)

    • @robne6712
      @robne6712 2 года назад

      they dont come with a solid ring... its a assist w/a split ring. if you plan to catch bigger fish with them i would suggest adding a 5mm solid ring to the split ring and attaching the assist to it. like regular slow pitch jigs the split ring is the weak point and is only there to add action to the jig...

  • @vsonic86
    @vsonic86 2 года назад +1

    What jig/weight is this? Can you send the link? Also saw you let it sink to the bottom, don’t you run the risk of getting snag?

      I’m so sorry for late response :(
      I’ve been so busy, couldn’t get to my channel.
      It is 10g micro jig by Jigpara.
      I was worried about the risk.
      I take the risk to get better chances as other fishermen do lol
      Thanks for watching :)

    I love your videos! For me fishing is very slow on days with full moon or close to full moon regardless of summer or winter. Is that also true to you?

    • @CastNreeL82
      @CastNreeL82  4 года назад +2

      I believe it depends on the target fish, water levels and the fishing spot. In some places you catch fish at minus tide. You only can see the minus tides near full moon & no moon. Some fish likes fast current and you can fish them near full moon.
      But generally, not so good on full moon & no moon. And not easy to fish on the surf cuz water is too strong.
      Honestly, personally, I don’t like full moon and no moon for fishing lol hahaha

    What rod length and action do you think is best for micro metal?

    • @CastNreeL82
      @CastNreeL82  4 года назад +1

      I like to use ML fast 6.6’ casting, action, fighting... satisfied :)
      I used my M1rod, M fast 7.3’ with 20# braid line and it was okay to use.
      And I like to use the rod on the video. One thing not okay is casting, too long to cast cuz too soft.
