  • Did Ellen White make a false prophecy by predicting England would invade the United States in 1862? What is the real truth about this? Find out.
SPECIAL NOTE! I`ve recently had a fair share of comments from those who think Adventists are a cult and Ellen White is a false prophet. One particular thing they were focused on was our position on the scapegoat of the day of Atonement ceremony. I have a video specifically addressing this on my other channel. I'm not sure it's worth trying to answer the critics of Adventism or EGW. It will not change the spirit of those wanting to criticize. Satan is the accuser of the brethren and his spirit is clearly seen in many of those who post their disagreements and criticism here. There is no spirit of genuine love in their comments. Those truly searching for truth as you did before becoming an Adventist will be led by the Holy Spirit to see the truth. Many want to live in sin and believe that Jesus will save them in their sin. They do not want to be healed and restored to have the other centered self-sacrificing love of Jesus. I understand your passion for wanting to defend truth and defeat the lies Satan tries to spread. I do pray that those who have been hurt by SDA's or by the abuse of EGW's writings can be healed and maybe it's better for them to be in a different setting if it truly helps them know God's love for them better.

IF The Holy Spirit no longer inspires anyone (which is absurd to even suggest) , why pray that prayer ????? And the very people who criticize EGW as being inspired by the Holy Spirit , many of them claim to "speak in tongues" !!!!!! Um hellooooooo

Jonah predicted Nineveh would be destroyed and it wasn't. Why? Because it was a conditional prophecy. Conditions changed so the Lord accepted their repentance and did not destroy them. As I quoted from Jud Lake here, the critics take issue with 0.01% of her writings. As the video's conclusion clearly states, the problem with her supposed false prophecy here is not her, but the limited view people have of spiritual things. There's a depth and a richness here that you are overlooking because she doesn't fit into a convenient little box of your own human thinking.

They seemingly act if they know already who is going to Heaven and who is not, which is a sad position to take, if in Christian love they want SDAs to come out of the church. I asked him about the deliberations in Parliament about entering the war. He said, "Of course there were such deliberations." I said, "How can I document those deliberations?" I’m wondering how you reconcile her time periods? She thought the 2nd coming would occur in the 1840s, so much so that her warnings induced Joseph Bates to write a book in 1849 and declared the “time of trouble” had already begun. Ellen White even said the sealing time had begun. Decades later she gave for the reason that Jesus hadn’t returned during that time period was because God had called off the sealing time due to unfaithful people among the advent movement.
The she declared again in 1856 that some would be food for worms, some would see the 2nd coming and be translated and others would have to undergo the 7 last plagues. Turns out all were food for worms. She was wrong again, and decades later she would declare it was the unfaithful people among the Advent movement that called off the event once again.
Then she declared once again that if only the Adventist people had accepted the 1888 message of Jones and Waggoner, that Jesus would have returned. But once again, unfaithful people were the result of her failed prophecies and utterances. Doesn’t this beg the question, or questions?? If it was the 1888 message that was rejected that resulted in Jesus not returning in that time, why wasn’t righteousness by faith, the Jones and Waggoner message, being given in the 1840s and again right at 1856? Surely the people would have responded as the people of Ninevah did to Jonah if only that had been given that warning, no?
I was in the SDA church for over 5 decades, was a 5th generation Adventist. I laid my Ellen White books down and decided to study for an entire year with just the Bible. It came alive like never before. And the scales of the deceit of Ellen White started to fall away. She was a charlatan, and she was aided by the corrupt church leaders who hid her awful teachings.

I've been studying with the SDAs for the past few yrs, and was receptive to what they teach. Though I've not read much of EW and was a bit wary of her, and the 1844 prophecy seemed a bit strange to me. So in recent months I was listening to a few challenges to adventism, but nothing really stuck, and I got no clarity. So I was praying sincerely many times, and I mean in a deep and sorrowful way, a sorrowful longing for the truth. Then whilst preparing a study for Sabbath school I came across the cleansing of the sanctuary. Then God led me into this, and opened my eyes so clearly, was amazing. My conclusion, and I spent many hrs and days going over Daniel's prophecies, is that there is Zero substance to the 1844 prophecy. No connections between the little horns, nor the vision in ch 9 explains ch 8 vision. I read the acct of antiochus and he fits perfectly. He was trying to wipe out the faith in Israel. I did several word studies, which every one of them even further removes any supposed connections. The word used for saints in ch7 is different to the holy people in ch8. The word for vision in ch9 vs 23 is different to the ch8 vision. Ch 8 days is broken down into literal mornings and evenings, whereas the prophetic days in ch12 vs 11 is a word that can be figurative for a period of time. Cleansing in ch 8 means to restore, and is different to the cleansing of the sanctuary ceremonially. And clearly the little horn in ch8 comes out of Greece, and cannot be Rome. As in ch7 rome is it's own beast, and the little horn there comes from within it. Also how does Gods heavenly sanctuary get trodden underfoot?? Or how can a transgression make the heavenly sanctuary desolate?? Was rome doing away with the daily sacrifices for those hundreds of yrs before Jesus came? The SDA interpretation is entirely false. It is assumption built upon false assumption, that builds an entirely false structure. Regarding the investigative judgement, well that collapses because 1844 is a lie. But just to be sure, which sanctuary is being cleansed by Jesus's blood? It is the sanctuary within us, that the Holy Spirit may dwell within us, and we are born again.

Back in 2009 I started by making a series based on the three great questions of life. "Who is God?" What has He done for me?" "What does He want me to do for Him in return?" After finishing those, I did 5 on how futurism is not biblical called "Popular Theories on End Time Events". Recently I've been making musical meme videos with Bible verses and quotes from other Christian sources, including some from Ellen White. That the vast majority of my videos quote the Bible and not her should be an example to all that SDA theology is centred in Christ.
Ellen White herself wrote "The Lord has sent His people much instruction, line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little, and there a little. Little heed is given to the Bible, and the Lord has given a lesser light to lead men and women to the greater light."

      @lesmillman  5 месяцев назад

In some ways I agree with you. When i was searching for truth and the Lord brought my Adventist girlfriend/fiancé into my life, I thought the same thing - Jesus over prophecy. The impression you have is something we need to work on. But also, if your only contact with us is what you hear when a big name speaker comes to town and does a month long series of meetings discussing prophecy, those people who get baptized at the meetings are usually people who've been studying 'the basics' of the gospel for up to a year. I came in through one-on-one study alone. And in the course of about 30 Bible studies we went through each member of the Trinity, Satan's story, why we suffer, forgiveness, creation, justification, sanctification and many more topics. I didn't attend my first prophecy seminar until I had already been baptized.
As for your last statement, yes the end will come. But how many difference interpretations of prophecy are there out there? One Pentecostal Pastor who became an Adventist said to me that in his 20 years as a Pentecostal he had been exposed to six different views on the rapture. Well at least five of them must be wrong? So what about those who, though sincere, end up on the wrong side due to their choice of an incorrect view of prophecy? There is a place for the gospel and a place for prophecy. A right understanding of prophecy will also see the gospel within it.

      Not biblical at all.
      Mrs. Truesdail's letter, Jan 27, 1891
"In vision, then, Mrs. White was taken to see these planets, and as she talked about them, describing them, Captain Bates, his face wreathed in smiles, would say, 'Now she is viewing Jupiter,' and, 'She is describing Saturn,' and so on. Seventh-day Adventists who are baptized believers in Adventist doctrine (28 Beliefs) are not Christian. Adventism teaches doctrines which are cursed in the bible. For example, the Adventist gospel message of 3 Angels Messages is not found in the bible and according to Gal. 1:6-9 this gospel is cursed. A church which preaches a gospel which is cursed is not Christian. Adventism is not Christian and not part of the larger Protestant Christian community.

As for the rest of your post, Evangelical Christianity plays games with words trying to make it seem like the Ten Commandments have no place in the salvation process at all. They are so upset about things like gay marriage and yet their own gospel's teaching should allow any kind of sin to be permissible. The only time they go on and on about the law being done away is when it comes to the Sabbath question, Saturday or Sunday? The gospel of the three angel's messages is the one that teaches true grace is not only forgiveness for past sins but also power to do the right thing. I have an entire video on that as well. @@lesmillman I watched and it was in this video that the gospel was mentioned and why I posted the comment. The SDA church teaches a false gospel and according the scriptures (Gal. 1:6-8) is cursed for this false 3 angels gospel. The SDA church has consistently preached this gospel message and continues to declare it, such as publishing it as the official mission statement of the SDA church.
The Saving Gospel is defined in I Cor. 15:1-4 as the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and this gospel was received by him from Jesus (Gal. 1:11-12). The gospel message of the SDA church is composed of the gospel messages of these three angels (Sabbath worship, fate of Babylon and reject Mark of the Beast). The SDA gospel is not the same gospel as the saving Gospel of the Bible divinely revealed to the Apostle Paul and because the SDA teach a false gospel they are accursed (Galatians 1:8)
The SDA church also makes it clear it cannot preach the gospel of the Apostle Paul (1) and states this message is a message for "the day." However, the SDA church errors from the bible. The Apostle Paul taught that anyone preaching "any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed" (Gal. 1:8) (2) and this gospel he received by divine revelation of Jesus (Gal. 1:11-12) (3). The Apostle Paul defines the saving gospel in I Corinthians 15:1-4 (4). Because the SDA church cannot preach the saving gospel of the Apostle Paul (1), it has placed the curse of Galatians 1:6-8 upon its own head and preaches a gospel that the Apostle Paul never taught or preached.

@@AcademyApologia Jesus face similar criticism from the Jews of His day. Mark 2:21-22 "No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; or else the new piece pulls away from the old, and the tear is made worse. And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins.”
His teaching did not contradict the Old Testament. The Jews of His day did not understand the Old Testament. So His teachings seemed like something entirely new to them. It is the same for us. We do preach Christ in a way that says 'He died for you and rose again' despite the lie you tell yourself. Then we show people what the Bible says God wants us to do for Him in return. The gospel you speak of claims to preach Christ, but without the proper follow up you get to be in charge of your own life without any real submission to the Lord. Remember Christ's words in MATTHEW 7:21-23
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

    • @lesmillman

There is no Bible guideline on when, where or to whom the Lord gives the gift of prophecy. But looking at many Old Testament stories, they are decades and generations apart at times. The gift when given is for all time because of the words written by the prophets. We have enough with the Bible and EGW. If we need more, God will give it to us when it is appropriate.
There is also a format to His giving of prophecy. A prophet is called to give a prophecy that will cover many years beyond that prophet's lifetime. To explain the prophecy, another prophet is raised up at the time the prophecy is about to be fulfilled. During the in between time, people are to wait. They have the first message and there is something in it that will help them in their time. It is not the entire message because the time for fulfillment has not come. But it will meet their needs for the moment.

Sorry you are incorrect. Jesus gave a prophecy referring to the fall of Jerusalem and said "pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath", Matthew 24:20. And since Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath, John received the Revelation on "the Lord's day", which is the Sabbath. Sunday keeping came after and that is what the verse I quoted in Lamentations is referring to.
Cross reference Isaiah 30:13 with Ezekiel 22:28
Therefore this iniquity shall be to you
Like a breach ready to fall,
A bulge in a high wall,
Whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant.
Her prophets plastered them with untempered mortar, seeing false visions, and divining lies for them, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord God,’ when the Lord had not spoken.
For sin to be a breach in a wall, the wall must therefore be the Ten Commandments since sin is the transgression of the Law according to 1 John 3:4KJV. 'Untempered mortar' is used five times in Ezekiel to illustrate some sort of compromise to that wall. Think about the illustration. The bricks seem to hold together but under the testing time, they fail. This is clearly what Sunday worship is. Sunday is MY Sabbath, the day I make holy by going to church. The Seventh Day is His Sabbath, the day He makes holy by the revelation of Himself.

My brother she is no Prophet! ALL THE VISIONS SHE CLAIMS TO HAVE HAD WILL pretty much every day literally would make you the most important person in the bible and Christianity outside of Jesus, more important than his Apostles and Prophets, more important than Apostle Peter who Jesus gave the keys to The Kingdom Heaven in Mattew 16:19, you would have to be more important than the Apostle Paul who wrote 13 of the 27 books of the New Testament and was the Apostle for the Gentiles. You should be more important than the minor and mayor Prophets of the Old Testament including Isaiah who God used to prophesied the Virgin birth of Jesus. Also the test of A TRUE PROPHET IS NEVER WRONG!!!! AND NEVER CONTRADICTS THE WORD OF GOD!! SHE WAS WRONG!!!!!
Scripture records that on eight different occasions during the Old Testament period God took on a human-like form. Some of these appearances were as the Angel of the Lord. They include an appearance to Hagar - the mistress of Abraham. The Lord also appeared to Abraham and Sarah at Mamre. There was also an appearance to Abraham at Mount Moriah.
God Appear to Moses, and Why? God may have appeared to Moses more times than we know, but we do have the biblical record of at least nine appearances that came at different times whenever Moses ascended Mount Sinai.
If we look back to the Old Testament, there were indeed prophets-some of which spoke God’s word, but some of which also led God’s people astray. This is why the Israelites were called to test the prophets. There were of course the prophets, whose prophecy was considered the infallible, inerrant revelation that we find in the Bible.
Prophet Amos: 5 Visions, Revelation by Apostle John: records total 7 visions, Zechariah: 8 Visions, Daniel: 4 Visions (Over period of 70 years), Prophet, Ezekiel:9 Visions, Isaiah: 2 Vision, Jacob: 1 Vision, Jeremiah: 2 Visions, Apostle Peter: 1 Vision, Apostle Paul: 3 Visions
In the early days of Christianity, prophets played a crucial role. They proclaimed messages from the Lord to believers, filling the gap when the New Testament was not yet complete.
Some messages were revelatory (new truths from God), while others were predictive (foretelling future events).
These prophets were foundational to the church, as mentioned in Ephesians 2:20.
    Completed Revelation:
The New Testament, including the book of Revelation, was eventually completed.
With the full revelation of God’s Word now available, the need for prophets to reveal new truths has diminished.
The essence of prophecy is to speak for God, and any message today must align completely with what God has already revealed in the Bible.
    Testing the Spirits:
As believers, we are instructed to test everything against Scripture (1 Thessalonians 5:20-21).
If someone claims to be speaking for God, we must compare their message to the Bible.
If it contradicts Scripture, it should be discarded; if it aligns, we seek wisdom in applying it (2 Timothy 3:16-17; James 1:5).
    No More Apostles or Prophets:
God can still give messages to individuals, but these messages must harmonize with the Bible
Turning to the New Testament, we see the same phenomenon. There were the prophets-namely, the apostles-appointed directly by Jesus to speak authoritatively in his name, under the Spirit’s inspiration. Then there were also ordinary prophets that the Spirit led to speak God’s word in certain situations. Other prophets are also mentioned, although what they actually prophesied isn’t written. We aren’t to question God’s prophets, but the prophets in the book of Acts were fallible and had to be tested.
Many people will point to Ephesians 4:11-14 as proof that prophets and apostles still exist today:
    And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
    13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
Something important to note here is that it says he “gave” apostles and prophets, using the past tense. I think he gave them but doesn’t keep giving them. Just as there are no more apostles, there aren’t any prophets today in the way that there were when Christ was just beginning to build his new covenant church. We have God’s written New Testament now. The foundation has been laid. There’s no need for growth of that foundation-it has been laid, and now we’re building on it. To build on that foundation, the offices of evangelists and pastors continue today. Elsewhere Paul also mentions elders and deacons, but in this passage of Ephesians, he’s focusing particularly on the ministry of the word, because that ministry of the word through preaching and teaching is what creates, builds up, and expands Christ’s body.
It’s also worth noting that in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1, when elders and deacons are discussed as an office that will continue in the church, we see a list of qualifications for those offices. We don’t see that same list of qualifications for prophets or apostles, because Paul realizes that these extraordinary offices were only for that foundation-laying period of the church. I really think what Paul is saying here is that prophets and apostles were necessary to bring the church to maturity-to adulthood. Now what we need are pastors and teachers to lead us through those Scriptures, who build on that foundation so that we will stand on the day of Jesus Christ.
A particularly useful passage that isn’t mentioned as often in this conversation is found in Daniel 9:24 that reads, “24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy..” Putting an end to sin and atoning for iniquity-these are what Jesus himself accomplished on the cross. In the accomplishment of redemption and the work of Jesus Christ, there’s no need for new revelation. It’s sealed up. What we need in the church today are pastors and teachers who are faithfully going to take that faith-once for all given to the saints-to the world and build on that foundation.

      1. The God who took on human form was Jesus. God the Son came to represent the Trinity on earth because sin cuts us off from the Father, see Isaiah 59:1,2.
      2. Lamentations 2:9, the last half, explain why the gift of prophecy was withdrawn from the church. "The Law is no more, And her prophets find no vision from the Lord." When the church changed the Sabbath from the Seventh Day to Sunday, God stopped calling prophets.
      3. Revelation 10:11 clearly says the gift will return in the last days. 'And he said to me, “You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings."'
      4. Therefore the only church that can have a prophet is one which keeps the true Sabbath.

Well when you consider that many times during ancient Israel's history only a small minority were truly following God, it makes sense at times today things would be similar. See 1 Kings 19:18 "Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.”
And also, if the confusion in the Christian world today is the result of many different people injecting their own opinions into Scripture, would it not make sense that the Lord would bless any person or group that was like the Bereans? Acts 17:11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.
The Bible is one book with one message, yet with so many denominations, the Lord is able to sort out who is sincere in each. See my video on Present Truth for a rundown on how we can claim we're the true church, yet not be arrogant about it. ruclips.net/video/zwHJZDKEebA/видео.html

That in and of itself does not in any way allow us to think we're better than other Christians or that we alone will be saved. Origen
“Hence it is not possible that the [day of] rest after the Sabbath should have come into existence from the seventh [day] of our God. On the contrary, it is our Savior who, after the pattern of his own rest, caused us to be made in the likeness of his death, and hence also of his resurrection” (Commentary on John 2:28 [A.D. 229]).

“The sixth day [Friday] is called parasceve, that is to say, the preparation of the kingdom. . . . On this day also, on account of the passion of the Lord Jesus Christ, we make either a station to God or a fast. On the seventh day he rested from all his works, and blessed it, and sanctified it. On the former day we are accustomed to fast rigorously, that on the Lord’s day we may go forth to our bread with giving of thanks. And let the parasceve become a rigorous fast, lest we should appear to observe any Sabbath with the Jews . . . which Sabbath he [Christ] in his body abolished” (The Creation of the World [A.D. 300]).

You are showing your own lack of understanding of spiritual things. The Fourth Commandment is a whole life Commandment. I am serving the Lord by going to work on a Tuesday and doing my best there just as much as when I rest on HIS holy day. Worship is a process whereby we present ourselves before Him and as we sing, pray, give offerings and hear a message he adds His Spirit and by faith it becomes an experience whereby He reveals Himself to us. Then we are broken before Him, yet we leave refreshed and renewed by the experience.
Worship therefore is a two way thing. We offer our worship but it's His revelation that really makes it of value. And He said in His Word He reveals Himself in this special way on HIS holy day. Sunday worship consists of man offering his own worship his own way. In other words, it's a worship style similar to that of Cain. We're doing God a favour by giving Him worship and the Lord owes us blessings for it.

The foolish virgins were placing their faith in their church, looking to people to validate them instead of Christ. We all need a direct connection to the Lord. Then we bring that connection with us to church. Adventists do understand this. Your use of phrasing showing that you think our faith is in the church just might be an indication you are placing your faith in yours. I had/have a bone to pick with White over the slavery issue... where she said the Lord was not with the south over slavery. Yet, here you say the issue was not slavery, it was about preserving the Union... ostensibly against outside forces... such as England! You are, of course, correct on thjs. But, most people today think it was slavery that was the reason for the war and it was NOT!
This was where I lost faith in her as a prophet... ultimately in the church, itself, due to their preoccupation with her writings over the scriptures. Anyone knowing me would disagree over said preoccupation, but, it's true, especially with the older members. I won't go so far as to call the church a cult, but, they do have some doctrinal issues I feel need sorting out. Even ancient Israel had it's periods of falling away, why should the "remnant" church be exempt from trial?

I think its in my video on the Seven Thunders of Revelation where I quote from Geoffery Paxton's "The Shaking of Adventism" on how we as a church have repeated the history of the entire church. So yes there may be ways in which our failings are why people call us a cult. I am here to dispel all that. I myself did not say the issue was about preserving the union. I quoted her and Roger Coon. As I believe I said here, the north was not going to win until freeing the slaves became the reason why they were fighting the war. It's an example of God intervening in history.
I ask you go to the Mark Finley message linked on the end screen where he goes to the site of the Battle of Bull Run and describes where and when the angel stood to block the minds of the northern troops. it is quite inspiring.

@@Elizabeth-rk3do I believe the gospel they preached is the true gospel, what Jesus called 'this gospel' in Matthew 24:12-14. The true gospel is that when you accept Jesus, God not only gives forgiveness for the sins of your past, He also offers you power to do the right thing from that point on. This is where doctrine and good works come in to play, as an outgrowth of our faith. I explain it more fully in the following video ruclips.net/video/52mAsEqk0es/видео.html

@lesmillman The gospel is in I Corinthians 15. The SDA church doesn't preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. They don't even believe that people are immortal and will spend eternity in either heaven or hell as Jesus Christ said.
They focus on keeping the Sabbath, the Investigative Judgment, the 2300 days, the National Sunday Law, and many other false teachings.

What used to scare me when I believed in protestantism was I couldn't ignore how prots do not agree on the essentials of the Gospel for our salvation, & the fact is the Bible doesn't give us an explicit list of the essentials for our salvation either.
So it shook me when I saw in the Bible said that there should be no schisms, & no divisions in the Church of Jesus, that's its a great sin to be in division, & I knew there was all kinds of divisions in Christianity, and we cannot lie as prots & say that there's no division inside of protestantism...
Then I saw St. Paul explains in 1 Corinthians 11:17-20; on why there is divisions in the church of Jesus, is bc one who is spiritually discerned will seek for the absolute truth, to not be in a false Religion, & never stop until they are in the true Religion, bc Christianity is a Religion James 1:27; but what is the true religion in Christianity, which church is teaching sound doctrine has the same from the 1st century...
So thats when I went back in church history, to learn how the books of the Bible were canonized, & how did the early Apostolic Church Fathers worship after the Apostles died on how they worshiped Jesus. So I read the Didache, & went in depth with scripture & church history 2gether as one, to follow the oral traditions, & written 2gether, as 2 Thessalonians 2:15, & 1 Corinthians 11:2; commands us to follow the oral traditions....

So I love to see what was always taught throughout antiquity consistently, as St. Paul says to follow the oral, & written traditions together. Bc we are not supposed to follow the traditions of men, only from the traditions of men who are taught by the Apostles, who were taught by Jesus, which were the Apostles who taught other faithful men after them...

Good words in some ways @@onlylove556. However, I caution you as to the idea also. To say all modern preachers are flawed but ones 1900 years ago aren't is to look to people first. Pray to the Lord for understanding and He will be the One speaking to you. He may give you something from an old book or from someone sharing what he or she recently learned. And of course you may also come across a Bible verse that explains the one you currently find to be mysterious. And yes if I can be of service to you, that is why I am here, to help others. You can assert anything you want about the state of the dead. In many places in the Bible the dead are in communication with living people or even God; but there is one place, only one, where Solomon says the dead know not anything--it's better to be a living dog than a dead lion--or something like that; however, it can't be proven that we go to heaven after we die, at any time, not when we die or at some future resurrection, or anytime. You can't prove from the Bible that we go anywhere after we die, although in I Thess. $:14 Paul says that those in heaven will God bring with him when He comes, but it does not say that we go to heaven then or at any other time--God comes here bringing them with him but does not return to heaven with them. Why would he bring them here with him then go right back? It makes no sense and not Biblical.
