- Spearfishing and freediving Yellowtail Kingfish for an insane day out off the Coromandel Peninsula of New Zealand. We head wide to a rock that comes out of 90+ meters of water which is absolutely teeming with fish life. Thousands of Trevally, Kahawai, Pink Mao Mao and Yellow tail Kingfish are seen.

As an Aussie spearo, I don’t like the way that you spear a fish that swims up to you like I seen in previous videos. I’m sure that that particular fish has encountered divers that feed or respect them but you put a spear at point blank into its head. That’s not fishing etiquette. As a diver you should respect the fact of selective fishing and hunting but you’re a wanker that shoots anything regardless. You remind me of a poacher in South Africa.

@@olliecraig-primalpursuit the trevally in the smoke box is hard to beat aye bro. The extra oil content in the Trev flesh fused with the smoke materials is top quality. Nice to get some mass in the freezer as well with the kings too mind you

Cheers Philippe, I've just been hitting some places which are quite far off shore and not really assessable for my little inflatable. Also sometimes it takes a while to finally get the right buddy to dive with who is on the same page as you. Some days you go out with people and never want to dive with them again for multiple reasons. I still do love diving solo, perhaps its just summer..
