    Honestly her mystery is not hard to figure out. In the first movie Grace says “I’m with her jake she’s real” something within those lines meaning she’s with Eywa. They want you to think Kiri has a dad but she doesn’t at all. She’s like a reincarnation of Grace but the child of Eywa. Also to add why I think she’s a reincarnation of Grace is because Kiri was being born and in the womb of Grace’s body as if she’s being reborn

      @@epieon943 I’m still trying to understand what happened I took it as she is basically asking herself and Eywa that question and since Eywa is kinda like a god of the planet it didn’t know how to handle that question and it basically malfunctioned like you said but idk I’m just going off

    • @epieon943
      @epieon943 2 года назад +93

      @@KAGIICHII If Eywa was present then she wouldnt have caused Kiri to seize up and giving Kiri a terror memory almost resulting in her death. Also I am not 100 percent on this theory, only because it does not explain how Kiri can harness the power to control the planet, especially in a manner of violence. Network and biological defenses from the planet gives clues on that the planet is a sentient network (like a server). So malfunction or an error of Kiri asking herself questions makes a little sense. I have so many questions tho. Why a human / avatar is chosen for this role? Is Eywa evolving her defensive measures by using Kiri? Maybe Eywa was manmade.. lol too much thought into this.

      My theory is that she IS THE DOCTOR. I think the consciousness transfer failed due to her injuries but Ewya (not sure I spelled it right) found another way to resurrect her. I think Ewya impregnated Grace's avatar herself and implanted Grace's consciousness into the fetus. I think she is basically the REINCARNATION of the Doctor. When she sees the Doctor in her "vision" I think its LITERALLY HER. I think this is the science fiction version of reincarnation.

    The sky people didn’t break neytiris bow; her vengeful fit of violence in blind murderous anger did, somehow representing responsibility, her father, her heritage. At least, I think it’s something like that. The bow breaking might actually be symbolic of her breaking point having lost her son on top of everything. It’s just reliving her trauma

    • @tekcrimsonblitz

      I thought something similar when I saw that scene. I think it might be foreshadowing that in her quest for vengeance, she might unknowingly endanger her clan and her family. I think that will be her character arc: learning maybe not to forgive, because she has suffered way too much, but learning that instead of throwing everything out of a window and seek revenge, she can choose to fight not to avenge the dead but to protect her loved ones that are still alive.

      What I like about it is that, in some ways, you can at least identify with one character based on either a single or multiple aspects of them.
      I remember someone saying that the movie is bad because none of the characters are relatable. When I asked him in what context; does he mean himself or in general (as in every single moviegoer), his response was the latter. I then said, well I identify with Lo’ak as I too feel like an outcast and constantly ostracised for trying to do good but ending up messing it for everyone. His response… silence and just informing me. I think that speaks volumes that people undeservingly hate this movie because they tend to look at the most trivial and surface level negative aspects of the movie because unless it is a Nolan movie, then you are not allowed to think too much about the more personal aspects. To dig deep beyond the surface level. But I digress.
      My point is, I’m glad that there are people out there who appreciate this movie beyond the blind hatred and that they are looking at it with a more analytical POV.

    There's something that people haven't noticed from the movie that I find interesting. Grace is active and actually conscious inside Eywa, while the only other Na'vi we see inside the network is basically just reliving their best experiences and favorite memories like a dream. It makes me wonder if the reason that Kiri was born is because the Na'vi, due to having evolved in this ecosystem, basically just upload themselves into a never ending dream letting them live in the best moments of them and their ancestors lives. While Grace, a human mind and of an entirely separate evolutionary path of life, is still conscious fully and appears to be studying Eywa from the inside out. It could that Eywa is and has been dormant for a long long time. With the one human being in her network imbuing a new form of active consciousness that actually pushes Eywa towards actually acting over being an incumbent hive mind. The Na'vi themselves said Eywa's will must be interpreted and that she does not take sides. Grace and her memories of Earth finally pushed Eywa to movement and it's not stopping.
    TLDR; Grace basically caused Eywa to download some new software and is now actively participating in the biosphere that forms her to fend off the outside threat of humans, with Kiri not only a Messiah figure, but also Eywa's new physical instrument upon her world

    • @GamingMafia_id
      @GamingMafia_id 2 года назад +160

      Either that or she's willing to save earth too, as that's what all the scientist intended too when they got to Pandora. Grace memories of Earth pushes Eywa, creating Kiri to be the bridge of Na'vi & Human. That's aligned with "Eywa doesn't takes side" too.

As someone on the autism spectrum, I saw a lot of myself in her quirks (and others’ reactions to them), her closeness to nature, the wonder and comfort she found in the water, her open-mindedness, and her need to understand her identity. I even felt my eyes sting when she voiced her distress over her awareness of being different, and of always feeling (Eywa) so strongly, because I’ve been overwhelmed by similar perplexing emotions and interrogations my whole life.

      @@Zurround Kiri might not necessarily have been written as intentional autism representation, but as someone who didn’t get diagnosed until adulthood precisely because I didn’t "seem" autistic, I personally identify with her much more than with most characters that behave and speak in stereotypical manners. I do tend to sympathize with more obvious robot and/or alien characters who struggle to grasp human nature and customs, like Data, but I don’t stand out like them. My eccentricities usually look more like Kiri getting mocked for her odd fascination with patterns in the sand, or breaking down because she can’t figure out what’s wrong with her.
      The problem is that autism is still largely misunderstood and a lot of people on the spectrum, especially girls, learn to mask their symptoms to appear "normal" from a very young age, which causes many (like me) to get overlooked until they eventually can no longer cope. I absolutely *can* make eye contact (even though I often find it distracting and unnecessary), infer how to express myself in socially approved manners, use figurative language, laugh at people’s jokes, feel for others, and nurture several friendships. (In fact, too many people are drawn to me because I reflexively tend to be overly accommodating, something I’ve been working on.)
      Blending in is very taxing in the long run, but entirely possible to achieve at times for those of us who are particularly aware of and bothered by other people’s judgement. It’s not so much that I "act autistic" as it is that I’ve always felt fundamentally different from even my loved ones, like something I can’t quite pinpoint is off, added to the constant feeling that everything is just too much. That’s why Kiri’s subtle but oh so relatable personality quirks appealed to me so much.

    21:40 I do hope Jake confronts Neytiri about her prejudice in Avatar 3 & tells her that whether she likes it or not, he considers Spider a son & that if she can accept & love him she has NO right to reject Spider, which could act as the catalyst to her overcoming this.
    Neytiri could also confront this internally herself by seeing how she shouldn’t see Jake as the ‘one good human’ as I think she saw him as an exception among the ‘Sky People’ while tolerating Jake’s human friends for his sake as I don’t think she ever saw them as friends personally.

      Like 99% of humans came to Pandora to destroy everything about their planet and everything Neytiri loved. Her family got killed by humans. It's not like that "racism" just fell out of the sky, they traumatised her. They had literal WAR. The thing is that Jake no longer looks like a human and fought with them AGAINST the humans. So therefor it's hard for her to see Jake as one of the humans when he took the na'vi's side and looks just like them. Spider is the literal child of the general who pretty much controlled a bunch of everything that went down. She has EVERY reason to NOT like Spider. I do hope she will find a place in her heart so accept him though. But Jake was way worse this movie. He treated his own kids like soldiers instead of as his sons. I hope Neytiri gets called out for her behavior and actually starts improving. At the same time her behavior is understandable, given that she never had to deal with such amount of loss until the humans arrived. They didnt even know for the concept of lying before the humans thought them. She never process such loss in a healthy way, since her husband isnt what you can call a psychiatrist, nor do the Navi have anything close to a psychiatrist in their society besides the spiritual leader (which is her mom, who also never properly processed the same loss) and Eywa. This might also be the reason why Neytiri became so "religious" in the following years, praying for Eywa. The great mother was there in their most darkest hour and a comfort when they needed it the most. The final scene of the movie basically was Jake and Neytiri going to therapy with Eywa as the psychiatrist.

      Making the book from the first movie into a book you can buy at the book store is a BRILLIANT idea, pretend written by Dr. Grace. After the first page of "real life" info like Author and publish date etc they should have a pretend one that says the doctor's name as author and maybe "Copyright 2055" or something. We also need OFFICIAL NOVELIZATIONS of the movies as books often go into more detail. A PREQUEL novel about the early stages of human exploration of Pandora and the avatar program would be interesting as well as a "Midquel" novel that bridges the gap of many years between the first 2 movies. Star Wars and Star Trek does a lot of that.

    Kiri will probably grow up to be the most powerful Tsahik in Na'vi history who becomes a "messiah figure" for both Na'vi and humans. She is an important character who is likely the physical incarnation of Eywa, an equivalent to Jesus' story in the Bible. Kiri is also the key to learning more about Eywa and the entity's motives which is likely the protection of Pandora from humanity by helping humanity save Earth. In the Avatar Survival Guide, Pandora's flora and plant life can save Earth's environment. The Na'vi can help because of their deep understanding of Pandora's flora through their own history of research and studies. This makes sense because Cameron hinted that Avatar 5 will be about some Na'vi and Neytiri heading to Earth. However, due to Kiri's similarity to Jesus, we have to worry if Kiri will also face a similar end as Jesus who was crucified in the end. A parallel can be seen in Anakin Skywalker who was "crucified" in a way by becoming Darth Vader and later fulfilling his fate of bringing balance to the Force by killing Darth Sidious, weakening the Sith and the Dark Side greatly which allowed the Light Side to rise again. Will Kiri survive to the end of Avatar 5 or will she be killed/sacrificed in her efforts to bring peace and harmony between Pandora and Earth? So many questions as we worry about the fates of all the main characters. However, we know Norm will survive as there is information of the Distant Future when humans and Na'vi learn to coexist with the help of the Alpha Centauri Expeditions which an older Norm is part of.
    Future Character Fates after Avatar 5: The Quest for Eywa Theory
    1. Jake Sully -> Deceased and dies defending Pandora from the RDA. His final heroic actions also indirectly save Quaritch in the process.
    2. Neytiri -> Alive but spends the rest of her life on Earth to help humanity heal. Her remains are later sent back to Pandora.
    3. Lo'ak & Tsierya -> Alive and continue to support Aonung as the Metakyina's next Olo'eyktan.
    4. Kiri -> Deceased because of a great sacrifice she undertook to save both Na'vi and humanity.
    5. Tuktirey -> Alive and spends the rest of her life on Earth but travels back to Pandora occasionally.
    6. Spider -> Alive. He mourns Kiri's death and continues to help improve relations between Earth and Pandora.
    7. Quaritch (Recom) -> Alive and honors Jake's sacrifice by supporting his son (Spider) and continuing to defend humanity on Pandora.
    8. Norm -> Alive and helps lead the Alpha Centauri Expeditions to improve relations between Pandora and Earth. He also loves researching Pandora's mysteries.
    9. Lyle Wainfleet (Recom) -> Deceased after working with Quaritch to fight for humanity's survival and redemption.

      I could imagine the Navi make a trip to earth in an attempt to negotiate a treaty. I can't imagine public support of an existential genocidal war against a primitive intelligent species would be very good. Its also probably difficult and energy intensive to send understandable messages to earth from pandora, which an early colony simply could not do. Therefor, the RDA could simply lie about the state of war between Humans and Navi. The Navi need to go to earth to break the information gap, but also do some side effect stuff thats even more important.

    I think the story has missed a real opportunity to add a very cool layer of story and character with Kiri and Jake. Think about this: they are the only two characters in these stories, and probably on all of Pandora, who have "passed through the eye of Eywa". Jake had to pass through to transfer to his Avatar body. Grace likewise had to pass through the eye of Eywa - but she was too weak to pass into her Avatar body. Instead, Eywa creates a child from her essence and sends that child into the world as Grace's daughter. There's no father in the traditional sense. Kiri and Jake share an experience and a connection with Eywa - each in a unique way. Clearly, Kiri is developing as a character into a sort of super tsahik. Jake, I think, has been a bit short changed. He had a strong enough connection with Eywa to become Toruk Makto. It seems reasonable that there is more to that connection, more for him to discover, more abilities to develop in defense of all Na'vi rather than kind of just returning to jarhead mode.

    Eywa is like Mother Earth but with a more advanced consciousness and connection with everything. I think Kiri is just Grace reborn and Grace was always interested in the connection with Eywa and all things but was always looking from the outside in. She definitely had the aptitude to be more. So now she gets to look at it from the inside, and bc she was always inclined to hear Eywa, her senses are turned up to 11 because she’s been hearing and tuned into Eywa since birth. This is why when she connects with the spirit tree, she basically has access to all of the planet and it’s power/information and it overwhelms her body. So she needs to hone her abilities first. Another theory I have is Kiri is the trinity, with Grace and Eywa being the mother and the Holy Spirit. I think Kiri will eventually teach everyone to evolve spiritually and really hear Eywa so they can interface with her on another level. Basically be Gods of the planet and maybe all of reality. I’m sure there are more people like Kiri scattered throughout the planet too, waiting to be found. It’s a very similar story to how it is here on Earth ❤️

    • @Zurround
      @Zurround 2 года назад

      I believe that Kiri is essentially the REINCARNATION of Dr. Grace. Also, many ancient Earth mythologies anthropomorphized nature itself hence the term "mother nature" as a deity of sorts. EYWA is just the modern science fiction version of that mythos (for another planet but maybe there is only ONE nature spirit that governs the whole universe.).

      16 years of someone spending time around your family 100% removes them from "stranger" status. Realistically, she would know Spider better than any other human she's ever come into contact with besides her husband.
      Even if her hatred makes sense, she's definitely being unfair. Neytiri is the kind of character who is written to be extremely stubborn and prejudiced against things she doesn't have first hand experience witnessing. So I believe in the next film, it will take her having several direct experiences with Spider where she sees him prove her wrong. Because hearing others vouge for Spider isn't enough for her. The same thing happened between her and Jake. It took her seeing him put his life on the line for her people to actually come to fully trust him, even though he'd already extensively proven he was a good person.
      Really hoping she has some sort of humbling experience that causes her character to grow past her current mindset. Because right now, her attitude towards humans is basically where she assumes them to all be evil/terrible, with the exception of Jake who she probably labels as "one of the good ones" which is obviously not the best perspective.

There were a LOT of hints to spoilers for the next film at the end of Way of the Water, many which include focus on Kiri and Spider. Total kudos to all those actors for being so talented we either didn't believe they weren't teenagers or made us cry or made us hate them.

    In the first movie, when discussing how her school was shut down, Grace says the pain she felt as a result of Neytiri’s sister’s death transferred back to her through her avatar. Not only was it great acting, I think it hinted at her pain and emotion transferring on to Kiri. Her arch was about putting her beliefs as a scientist aside to embrace an immeasurable force (that of Eywa and spirituality). The unknown and unseen.

    One thing I very much APPRECIATE about this movie is that they showed us different ETHNICITIES of Navi with different physical features even though they are still the same SPECIES. Too often in science fiction the aliens of a certain race all look the same. Not EXACTLY the same but the same "ethnicity". There are SOME exceptions like the African American actor as a Vulcan in Star Trek voyager and the "albino" Klingons in Star Trek Deep Space 9 but almost always in science fiction each alien race pretty much looks all the same as each other.
    It is ABSURD to me how they keep making all the aliens of a race look the same. Imagine if someone from another world were to come to Earth and ALL of us were CAUCASION??
    Look at how frigging different a "gentleman" from ENGLAND looks from a dark skinned African or an Australian aborigine or a Native American. But they are ALL THE SAME SPECIES. Having different ETHNICITIES was AWESOME and I want to see MORE. On Earth there are MANY different races of human. Maybe in the next movie there can be a tribe with skin so dark blue that it is almost black and a tribe so light blue it is almost white.
    Maybe a tribe of "pygmy" Navi that are short (compared to the average of the species, still taller than most humans, maybe their average height could be 8 feet instead of 10 feet but maybe they would be buffed and built more like body builders).

    Does no one else think that Kiri and Spider might be attracted to each other in a romantic or physical way too?! I think they might be.I mean he playfully grabs her by the tail and she seems to like it..and his level of protection to her is kinda "extra". Like how he yelled at the Marines not to touch her during the ambush and Kiri even calls one of the Avatar Marines later a "perv" for abducting her.. so we all know Kiri has lots of appeal & she knows it too..

      I agree I see this as a potential power couple in a future movie. Spider and Kiri are both the odd ones out, who also serve as a bridge because of their connection to both humans and Pandora. They both can become key to balancing the two worlds! Them becoming a couple also works with the fact that Spider wasn't fully accepted as 'family' by all of the Sullys *cough* Neytiri *cough*, making it feel less like they're siblings (to me, I sensed more of the crush/attraction between the two, than a sibling relationship).

    At the end when Kiri is helping Tuk and Neytiri out of the wreckage, she becomes more monotone and assured, almost like she isn’t herself. She suddenly knew exactly what to to do and was extremely calm. Kiri also called Neytiri “mother” instead of mom like she does the other 2 1/2 hours of the movie. I think this was Eywa DIRECTLY taking over her in a way to help save her family.

      @@MagisterialVoyager Maybe bcs she doesn't have Grace's memories (does she?) and the fact that Kiri's still very young makes it easier for her to think she's her daughter rather than the reincarnation of Grace. Wouldn't that be difficult for her to grasp and make her feel more like an outsider? Idk, maybe I'm talking nonsense🙈 I just still believe Eywa put Grace's soul in to Kiri when she wasn't yet born and that she may or may not realize it when she grows up

    I'm really excited for the character development and relationship of Neytiri and Spider. It's obvious that the conflict is setting up for the future moment Neytiri would finally embrace Spider as her son (I really hope thats going to be the case). We understand Neytiri's anger towards Spider but it obviously does not make it right or fair. She wants justice but she's gonna learn eventually that blaming Spider for the multitude of things he didn't do (or took the blame on) is not going to help. Also I just wanna say full on Mama Bear mode Neytiri is very scary but also very cool to see.

    The ceremony where they prayed over graces avatar in hopes she’d “pass thru the eye of Eywah”, except it appeared the prayer circle didn’t work. Only, graces avatar was too weak to come back, but she technically did pass thru via grace. Her birth isn’t a mystery at all, it was the result of sacred spell work. And she has the deeper connection to Eywah having been with her and coming back…essentially god being her other parent. By the end of the movie she comes to accept her divinity and has to use it to save the people….a bit Christ like in that theme 😮 it actually is very consistent and thoughtful, and I had worried it would be too far fetched when they were creating her story.

    I could be wrong but I think Kiri’s dad could be Jake’s avatar through Jake’s twin brother. In the start of Avatar 2, Jake says that they noticed ‘ONE OF‘Grace’s avatar’s was expectant. Which means Grace had more than one avatar. When Grace died, it would be pointless to return a pilotless avatar to the place they keep them thus presumably was buried by the Omaticaya clan. I think, Grace had a relationship with Jake’s twin brother via avatar bodies and thus Kiri was conceived. I don’t think Kiri is a reincarnation of Grace since she saw Grace on the other side and Grace never made it back to her body.

  • @KingGalby
    @KingGalby 2 года назад +90

    My theory is that Kiri isn't Eywa's child chosen by Eywa, so much as Grace's child chosen by Grace.
    When Grace died and joined with Eywa I think Grace's deep understanding of genetic engineering and encyclopedic knowledge of the life on Pandora allowed her to "program and upgrade" the Na'vi physical body. The upgrade lets Kiri link more easily with Eywa (which is all other life on the moon) including without a physical neural queue connection. She operates on wi-fi, not hardwire. She can also link with a greater "portion" of Eywa, such as larger, more numerous, and more deadly animals.
    Eywa has always been aware, and maybe intelligent, but as Mo'at says, Eywa doesn't really act except to provide, and she doesn't act with strategy or focused directed intelligence. That domain is the property of the Na'vi and other sentient life on the moon such as the tulkun. Grace's upgrade gives upgraded sentient life more 'bandwith' to act, for example using Kiri's mind which possesses what Eywa lacks: Focused strategy, tactics, and directed goals.
    This "upgrade" is a weapon that Grace saw the need for: direct tactical use of Eywa's body to bring greater might and intelligence against the invading aliens. I think Grace believes that a new race of Na'vi upgrades are a solution to the invaders. She had the knowledge of Eywa and of the human science of genetic engineering to construct the weapon while being with Eywa after her death. She programmed her own daughter in her own image as a reincarnation and as a weapon.
