Getting close to the panel like that is what I call burying the metallics. If you don’t do this like you said tiger stripes and also the metallics lay on the base coat wrong it’s like they stay on the surface and not bedding down into the base coat! I love your style

Way to really magnify your technique! I really need all the help I can get with technique on this tri stage Lamborghini orange Im working on right now. Its a 67 Mustang that I restored and nailed the paintjob down nice. The problem now is the customer got really wide rims and tires after the job was done and I had to do some modifying on the inner fender lips and heavy rear leaf springs installed. It also threw rock chips on quarts and fenders. great! So now I am almost ready to respray. I tried keeping the paint work small but that didn't quite work out so I am now coming to grips with the fact that on this color I will have to paint both sides tail to nose and hood with soft edge masked on the quarter body lines. This respray is really testing my skills but I think I can pull it off now. thank you for all you awesome videos. Your teaching has been very helpful! Fist bump Brother! Wish me luck!
Good luck bro. Just walk into it with confidence. sounds like you pretty much know your stuff. You'll do fine. I have had several cars over the years that I had to paint the whole side and they were all on tri stages as well. Comes with the territory 😀

Brother I've got to thank you! For some reason you're videos really made it click for me, after 6 years of everyone elses.. I sprayed my body kit, side skirts. The metallic & especially clear turned out phenomenal, best I've ever had with this spraymax clear. So deep and shiny, best I ever seen a clear on a street car..
I had to lay it on thicc! The 1 on the dark side of the garage I noticed it wasn't as thicc so laid 1 more coat. Perfect. Have to spray this product till it starts to cloud up. I did some major repair work on them too it all turned out just great.

@@thetriggerman954 bro, I just caught a 30 lb flathead catfish last night!! Biggest of the year.. I dont have any gear for vids, just bunch of photos i could make a video from. Thanks, the volvo is being fully restored as daily driver, piece by peice. All major panel replacement welding & repair is done. 1 driver side door replaced, 1 passenger side door on the way. Its been taped off like 50 times.. Will be redoing driver side quarter & sail, clear got botched at 3am in below zero temps, not my fault, well the 1st coat of clear was way past potlife & crinkled in some spots.. never again!
then I'm restoring front bumper, the passenger side doors & then the hood next.. keep going till it's all new.
The whole mechanicals & suspension were restored & upgraded by me too, bolt ons to stage 2.5, full 3 inch exhaust I built super custom & the biggest front mount intercooler. Its 240k miles drives like new or better. For real, been working on it for 5 years.

That was me who posted a picture of the misaligned air horn holes on Amazon reviews. I returned the Aerostar and got my money back. I actually took it apart and found out the trigger valve uses a plastic bushing that isn't as smooth at the LT100 which uses an oring that is adjustable. I also have the Summit Racing LVLP which is the same gun as LT100. Summit Racing LVLP was ALSO misaligned so Summit refunded me my money. Then i got a 1.7 tip on amazon and now i use it with primer.

You leaving me hanging triggerman. I commented on another video because I immediately noticed that cap is crap. I have an R500 and it sprays a larger fan pattern. I could not find anything wrong with the cap. Aeorpro sent me a new 1.3 cap. No change. They sent me another gut at no charge. No change. But hey, I got 2 guns for the price of one. If I can just find the cap to replace the original ones I know this gun sprays good because it sprays a lot better with the R500 cap.

I paid about 40 bucks for my R500's. Got 2 of them. No issues with these and its basically the same. Parts interchange. For 40 bucks it's surprising how well the R500 does. Good cheap gun for small time guys.

Yea my 2 small compressors were running non stop as well. But I wasn't even going to say that. I take enough heat from these dam spray gun fairies. But yes you're right. And I have to spray at 40 psi for proper atomization. I really have no idea what all the hype is about. But I'm new here and still learning 🤣🤣🤣

Loving the keeping it real brother I took one in the sun after trying to buff out some orange peel let's just say I suck at polishing and it looked like shit now I have to flow coat to fix it lol the finer side of painting cars!! Would really like to see you use that blackwidow hte I only own an few cheaper guns as I can't afford much so it's the main gun I use and I like the way it sprays but I think I'm fighting the settings difference between base and clearcoat. Either way brother keep the teaching going loving the videos!

Only gun I can say is truly low CFM is the Iwata lph400 I think all of the cheapest guns are higher than what they claim. The lph400 and lph80 are true LVLP spray guns

Nice trigger. I try to stay away from wet bed but for me with a silver in this heat idk if I would have the balls not to use it lol. Maybe with xtra slow reducer .I’m a nerd with painting and I want to say your arm and wrist movements are A+. Respect-good technique to emulate I tell these younger guys,makes all the difference man. Sling that shit down the panel.
Thank you Jimmy, man you don't need no wet bed worse case use that extra slow and make that wrist do the dance 🫡🤙🏼 it's hot as the devil's kitchen in that old ass booth and I make it happen with slow. I have cans of extra slow reducer and they have rust around the top That's how long they've been sitting there.

I don't think this gun sprays bad at all. It sprays as if you turned the spray pattern down to 80% compared to the R500. If your the type of person that paints with your spray pattern turned in a bit or uses a small spray pattern from you paint gun it is great. If you have used an FLG 4 which has a 6" pattern at 6" this is such an upgrade. It sprays a 8-9" oval pattern at 6". But the R500 cap sprays a 11" almost rectangular pattern at 6". It's better to have it and not need it than to not have it at all.
Then it works for you. That's good. But lots of other folks have an issue with it. And it's not that it sprays "bad" it's just that it sprays 10x better with another cap. The video with the other cap is uploading now. It should be up in an hour or so. 💪🏼

Can't always have instant gratification my man 🤠 The ANI F160 is a pretty good gun for the money. I think they are about that price. I spray metallics, has solid clear coat, medium solids, single stage with great results.

@@andrer3854 no sir, lph400 is a totally different ball game. the LPH is one of the best spray guns in my opinion. Which is why it still sells for over $500 20 years later. Awesome gun. Vevor is $80 and is a good cheap gun like you asked. For primer but will spray good paint as well. I have a few vids up with the Vevor, I'm also dropping a real nice video this Friday with it in think you should watch. It gets great results.

It actually was a normal pattern a slim oval shape but it just didn't atomize properly for the amount of pressure I was spraying I just felt it wasn't atomizing to the best of its ability if it even had that abilit

In my experience, all of the R500 variants suffer from lack of optimal atomization and fluid output. Despite being advertised as LVLP, they've been tested to use twice more CFM than stated, but that means for the real 8CFM or so, the fan pattern is rather subpar compared to other guns in that same range. I don't recommend them for the performance only. For low budgets perhaps, but that's about as far as it goes. There's too many other guns that will outperform it for similar air consumption.
As a side note, the original R500 was "poorly" cloned after the Iwata W400 series and will fit those caps, nozzles, and needles. The issue is now that those parts are costly, it brings to question the value of such swaps. I definitely wanted to try it on my Astro Evo4014 as the body is superior to the other R500 variants, but the older Iwata parts are just too dang high to try on a cheap gun.

@thetriggerman954 unfortunately, too many watch videos while failing to do their own research along with it. While some of the content creators mean well, they lack some of the scientific work to prove manufacturers' claims.
@@bosshawg7427 I hear that, well I don't do any of the scientific work either and I'm no pro when it comes to the CFM and I do let that be known but what I do know is when a spray gun is or isn't capable of producing a good finish and if it's even worth the price and struggle of making the gun perform. @thetriggerman954 much respect on being honest in your experiences. Far too often, some of the other channels come across as if they're afraid to be honest about a product. Yours was the first that admitted the Kiwami was a little hard to tune which is typical of most Iwata guns. Other channels simply sung praises without bringing up the cons. It's a good gun, but info like that is important, too so beginners know what they're getting into.
