This is a police failure to stop the gunman outside the school. This is different situation compared to other school shootings because the gunman was not targeting the school when he was running away from the police. How was the school not lockeddown when they were chasing the shooter in his vehicle. As soon as he got out of his vehicle he should have been taken down already. Police practice shooting targets frequently but then failed to target the shooters head. When I see police chase on TV, and police just trail behind the suspect and not do anything. For me, it should be a no brainer, and the suspect must be stopped in his vehicle no matter what rather than wait for the suspect to crash his vehicle to an innocent victims or go out of his vehicle and start shooting innocent victims.

Also means that police HAD THE TIME to do their job and notice that they were chasing this criminal in the vicinity of a school full of students even before he crashed and immediately alert the school to go into lockdown. THINGS COULD HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT IF THEY WERE MORE CAUTIOUS...

@@Mr.Meowskers they can, actually. My wife is a teacher and anytime it is warranted (such as a police chase nearby) the school goes into lockdown. Additionally, all doors stay locked throughout the day. The only doors that are unlocked from the outside are the main doors in the front, but they only allow you to go up to a window where you are greeted by someone from the office. At that point, they have to buzz you in through a second set of doors. Had a system such as what I've just described been in place at this school today these kiddos would be sound asleep in their beds tonight, where they belong. They wouldn't be dead. This madness must stop. "Gun control" is an absolute farce, what we need is armed security and better security measures in place at ALL schools. That's a tax increase I would gladly pay.

@kelina aaa in my country you get 5 years minimum jail sentence just for owning an illegal gun. Its not worth it for criminals. It's not worth a criminal carrying a gun if they could go to jail for 5 years just for that.
For example, 4 or 5 years back there was a huge drugs bust, after years of investigation the police took out 100 members of a huge drugs ring. Hundreds of kilos of cocaine, and cannabis were confiscated, and amoungst those 100 gang members, they found 2 guns..... 2 guns for a criminal gang across the country....
But most importantly we have had no.... 0..... Zero.... Nil.... School shootings for over 25 years. Every single child who has gone to school for 2 generations has been free to learn in safety, and to graduate without loosing any friends, or witnessing any tragedies.
Gun control works. The NRA are terrified of losing their cash cow.

We need guns for protection and if it wasn’t for a gun and good cop behind the gun the shooter would have still been alive shooting even more children. When a car hits someone and kills them do we blame the car or the person behind the wheel? We blame the person behind the wheel because that logically a correct thing to do we don’t blame the car. Guns are meant for protection but the mental state of a person is at fault for any fatal injuries.

@@kayleighdriggs7902 ill never understand that as I live in a safe country. Americans seem to live in constant fear of attack. Home invasions seem to be a regular occurance. There is a culture of fear about the need to defend yourself that we don't have here.
Here in the UK we had a school shooting in 1996 and made guns illegal without very strict permits and background checks. Illegal gun ownership comes with an automatic 5 years sentence, so it's not worth criminals being caught with a gun. In the 26 years since guns were banned, we haven't had a single school shooting. Not one child in 2 generations has been murdered in school.
Also the car argument is stupid. Cars are not designed to specifically injure people. They don't cause mass deaths like in Vegas. They aren't used to mow down school children in the classroom.

Easy target. He was a coward. That’s why you never see these things happening at a prison. Sad that our criminals are more protected than our children.

It's disturbing to see all these politicians using this to push a certain political agenda. They couldn't even wait an hour to let the families mourn before using their tragedies for their political gains. Let the families mourn in peace
