    THANK YOU!!! skincare can be so hard to understand!! i've been trying to plod my way through, but ever since being laughed at by a mary kay representative and a room full of women at a skincare planned party i was dragged to a few years ago when i admitted i was exfoliating my face in the shower with a loofah glove and then using whatever moisturiser i had on hand, i've been lost and embarrassed. my skin has come a long way since then but my understanding not so much, i've been struggling to gain knowledge by asking people at stores who have no time or interest to explain. i discovered the ordinary and i love the no bullshit ethos, and you are the missing piece of the puzzle! you are the bomb!!!

      Yes, this is because everything is just based on sales and not admitting that someone has no idea about a specific topic only shows 'weakness,' when in fact, it shows interest in learning something new. But guess what, those that are laughing at someone because that person doesn't know usually don't know it either. 🤦🏻‍♀️ No one has an interest in educating people... I've learned it the hard way too! Which brings us to the current state the world is facing!
      Still, I'm happy that you find my videos helpful! Yes, The Ordinary had an amazing educational standpoint, but be careful... things have changed over the years ever since Estee Lauder has gotten involved. It doesn't change the fact that their formulations are great, but the way they've slowly changed the website, etc., is concerning.

      melissa can you tell me why the niacinamide 10% + zinc 1% (which i use after the hyularonic acid % +B5 - although until seeing your vid i was using the wrong way around on bad advice) makes me all peely as soon as i use it? is it because i use mineral powder foundation? never any kind of cream foundation? i get itty bitty peely bits that i have to kind of sweep off my skin before i then moisturise. i use a makeup wipe, then an exfoliating cream cleanser by olay, then the ordinary squalane cleanser, then the above. as soon as the n+z i get all gritty itty bitty peely bits! is it even a bad thing? maybe i miss the point.

      So, you're experiencing pilling. Do you apply HA on wet skin or on gently patted dry skin after cleansing? How much of each serum do you use? Aim for about 3-5 drops of each serum, and make sure to let each serum fully absorb into the skin before moving on to the next step.

      Thank you. Yes, it's possible to mix them in the palm of your hand and then apply the mixture to your skin. However, mixing them and storing the mixture is usually not recommended. Over time, this can change the pH of the formulations, potentially reducing their effectiveness.

I wanna use it on my lips because I hhave hear, it makes your lips bigger. Will it give me the same results? Cause I wanna get big lips so bad, they are my worst insecurity.

    I'm binge watching all the skincare vids I could find. Honestly it's so difficult to have acne. Thankfully I only have comedonal acne and pustules and papules. They are so concentrated on my forehead and it is so difficult to freaking remove. 3 days ago acne started appearing on my cheeks but it was gone in 3 days! Unlike the acne that I have on my forehead it has been 2 months and it still ain't getting better!
    They say it takes time for acne to go away but I'm so impatient. Because of acne I felt more depressed and I didn't want to go out because of the shame I felt with having acne on my forehead and what others thought when they saw my face.
    I couldn't play the sports I used to love because of the fear of my acne getting worse. I couldn't even step outta the sun without wearing sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses! Acne has made my life miserable!
    Everyday, every minute every second, I couldn't shake the feeling of worrying if my acne got worse. It's making me so sad and isolated.
    I'm treating it but why does it get worse and worse every menstrual cycle. I can't make it go away in the little time I have before my period. It just keeps on stacking on my forehead!
    I can't even go to the dermatologist because they are not available in a town so rural where I am in. Skin care products are also hard to get.
    Gaaaaahh I can't even vent because the people around me have good skin. And they even joke around saying I look like the moon without Knowing how awful I feel. My parents said they never had acne as teens so they don't know how to help me. All I can do is ask strangers online for advice.
    Sigh if only I had better skin I wouldn't be too depressed in my everyday life. I'd actually start smiling and showing my face more often. It hurts, it's ugly and it's making me miserable.... I just want it to go away. 😭 Is that too difficult to ask..?

    Personally, i find the HA causes pilling if I dont apply just after slightly wetting my face

    • @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
      @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet  9 месяцев назад +1

      From my experience, it's actually the opposite. Applying products on wet skin dilutes the formulation, which means it cannot absorb properly. This leads to the product being left on the skin's surface and causes skincare pilling, especially when rubbing it in. I've only experienced this when using too much hyaluronic acid or when my skin was wet. As you can see in the video, and in all my other videos that I recorded in real-time, it never happened.
      So, I assume that the issue might lie in something else you're doing, perhaps using too much of the product or including silicone-based products?

    • @andrewcrisp1037
      @andrewcrisp1037 9 месяцев назад +1

      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial thanks for the reply. I dont use silicone based, so it could be too much of the product i suppose.
      I'll use a little less next time and see how that works out.

    • @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
      @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet  9 месяцев назад

      @@andrewcrisp1037 Yes, the cleanser might also be an issue, especially if you've used a hydrating or oil-based cleanser on its own. This could leave a protective layer, which might explain the observed effect. Additionally, if you leave it a bit wet, it could dilute the product, making the effect less noticeable.
      What other products have you tried combining it with?

    Hey ma'am,
    Could you please tell me the difference between kojic acid serum and niacinamide serum ? Which one is better?

    • @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
      @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet  Год назад

      Kojic acid and niacinamide are two different ingredients used for different purposes. Kojic acid serum is primarily used for lightening pigmentation and age spots. Niacinamide serum, on the other hand, helps to improve the skin's texture and tone, reduces the appearance of pores, balances sebum activity, and strengthens the skin barrier.
      Deciding which one is "better" really depends on your specific skincare needs. If your main concern is hyperpigmentation, a kojic acid serum might be more beneficial. If you're looking to improve overall skin health, texture a niacinamide serum would be a more suitable choice.

      Hello,
      Yes ma'am will start *NOT* to use the serum on wet skin, I have heard many people saying hyaluronic acid should be used on a *damp* skin not dry because it's absorbs the water on surface into the skin. I have used that method for around 4 days only then after the skin break outs I have completely stopped using the serum.
      Regarding which products I'm using;
      - Face foam cleanser for oily skin,
      - Face toning water for oily skin,
      - Face moisturizer water gel base,

      @@maysama3877 For how long have you been using these products from N7?
      Wet skin refers to skin that has a noticeable layer of water on it. You can see water droplets on the skin's surface, and you can feel the water when you touch the skin.
      Damp skin refers to skin that has been patted dry on the surface but still retains moisture internally. There are no visible water droplets on the skin's surface. It's akin to a sponge or a piece of clothing that no longer drips water but remains moist to the touch.
      Dry skin refers to skin that has been patted dry on the surface and then left for 5-10 minutes to allow the remaining moisture to evaporate. This practice involves letting the skin air dry completely before applying any products or continuing with other skincare routines. Doing so can be beneficial, especially when using potent treatments, as it allows them to absorb more slowly into the skin, thereby reducing irritation.
      In the video, I essentially demonstrated what damp skin looks like. If the explanation above wasn't clear enough, you can watch it again in this video: ruclips.net/video/xNUUUr81rLE/видео.html
      I recommend trying to use Hyaluronic Acid again while applying it the correct way, also, do not use more than 3-5 drops.
      If your skin still reacts negatively to the serum, you may not tolerate it well.

    what exfoliator can be used for under eyes? 10% mandelic?

    • @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
      @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet  Год назад +1

      Well, it largely depends on your personal tolerance. However, mandelic acid generally has a larger molecular structure than both glycolic and lactic acid. This characteristic slows down its penetration into the skin, thereby making it less irritating. Therefore, a solution or serum containing mandelic acid should be the best option overall.
