this is about to be my daily morning routine, i am just waiting for the Alpha Arbutin to arrive. I have been using everything you used and wanted to add a 3rd serum that focuses on my hyper pigmentation. i think i am finally getting a go to routines. when i started skincare i didnt know what to do and with the help of your videos, I am finally figuring out what works best for my daily am and how i sub days for my night time routines. thank you so much
Hey😊 that's a great choice! Yeah, it may take a while until you're getting the hang of it, however, once you know it and you're getting used to your routine, it becomes a habit😊 Please, keep me up to date with your skincare routine! I'm happy that the videos are helping you to figure out how to use it🥰 Thank you! Take care!
I literally just ordered THESE EXACT 3 ITEMS from the ordinary and was confused on how to layer them so this video was so perfect! So many other videos/websites talk about layering water-based serums with other serums, but never about layering 3 products that are ALL water-based :( THANK YOU SO MUCH Melissa!! It's like you knew which products I had recently ordered ;)
Melissa! I can’t thank you enough for your videos, Your routines have completely changed my skin and improved it drastically, I haven’t had break outs in a couple of months now thanks to you, so thank you from the bottom of my heart❤️
Hello Roudy, Well I am glad that it worked for you, but I still have some 😅 But I am unable to follow my own routines for a long time since I am testing so many products 🤣
Hi ma’am! Thank you so much educating us with your skincare knowledge. I’m learning a lot watching your videos! I’m in my mid-thirties but a newbie when it comes to skincare. I have no acne or wrinkles as of yet. My only issue is hyperpigmentation. Which after watching you, I am choosing to try alpha arbutin serum. Thank you and good day to you!
Great video Melissa...good explanation and....and...loved the way you applied your sunscreen 😀😀😀👍👍👍...this one from La Roche Possay is one of my favorites!!!!😉
I wouldn't use more than 3 serums in one routine. So, if you want to add a Vitamin C product, do not use it together with Niacinamide and split your routine so that you have two serums in the AM and two in the PM.
omg! thank you soo much! Is it ok to use peeling solution, hyaluronic, alpha arbutin & niacinamide? if yes can you make a video on how to put them step by step?
I have one that is very similar. Just add Hyaluronic Acid before Alpha-Arbutin, and you are good to go. How to Apply The Ordinary 30% AHA + 2% BHA Peeling Solution with Niacinamide and Alpha Arbutin: ruclips.net/video/alyaPIaMLs4/видео.html
Thanks for this very informative video!❣️ I just want to ask if I can include Azelaic acid suspension at the last step of this routine? Or moisturizer is much better?
Hi I bought a bunch of stuff for a new routine and I want to know if I’m over doing it also this video and many of ur other videos was super helpful AM: Cerve SA renewing cleanser Alpha Arbutin Niacinamide Hyaluronic acid Cerve AM SPF moisturizer Squalane mixed with the Kheils Cannabis Stevia Oil Herbal Concentrate PM: Cerve SA renewing cleanser Glycolic acid (2-3 times a week since I’m just starting out) Alpha Arbutin Niacinamide Hyaluronic acid Cerve PM moisturizer Squalane mixed with the Kheils Cannabis Stevia Oil Herbal Concentrate
Hey😊 Your routine looks great! However, you may want to use the Squalane mixed with the Kheils Cannabis Stevia Oil Herbal Concentrate before applying your moisturiser with SPF and PM Moisturizer😊 You can use Alpha Arbutin, Niacinamide and Hyaluronic acid once or twice per day which depends on your skin and preference! It's important not to use too much of each serum since you layer them on top of each other! 😊 You may also just want to use it like this: AM: - Cerve SA renewing cleanser - Hyaluronic acid - (Optional) Squalane mixed with the Kheils Cannabis Stevia Oil Herbal Concentrate - Cerve AM SPF moisturizer PM: - Cerve SA renewing cleanser - Glycolic acid (2-3 times a week since I’m just starting out) - Alpha Arbutin - Niacinamide - (Preferred) Squalane mixed with the Kheils Cannabis Stevia Oil Herbal Concentrate - (Optional) Cerve PM moisturizer
Thank you for this video I just purchased these three products. My skin has extra sebum concern. I also bought advanced snail 96 mucin. How would I incorporate this as its 4 serums? Thank you
Hi Melissa, first of all l would like to thank you because l've been using this product fr the pass 2 weeks. I learned alot frm yr video and its really helping me alot for skin of color. Currently in the morning lm using Alpha Arbutin, Rosehip Oil and Azelic Suspension. So l would like to try Niacimide here. Can l use it before Rosehip Oil, after Alpha Arbutin??
Hey, I am glad that it works. 😀 Yes. Alpha Arbutin = Water-Based Serum Niacinamide = Water-Based Serum Rosehip Seed Oil = Oil Azelaic Acid Suspension = Suspension “rules” 😆 or let’s say it’s recommended: The general rule of thumb for order of application is: 1. Water-based serums 2. Anhydrous Solutions and Oil Formulations 3. Lotions & Creams & suspensions Important: If you have more than one water-based serum, you can apply based on the priority of your concern (the product that targets the most important concern should go first). And it’s recommended applying eye-serums (such as Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG) first after cleansing. It’s recommended using no more than 3 serum formulations in a single routine for optimal skin penetration. About 2-3 drops of each serum and 1 pea-sized amount of creams should be enough for the full face and neck. Use a "patting" application method, as opposed to "rubbing." Always apply sunscreen when you are exposed to the sun!! Some products can have a foaming effect upon application depending on the other products you are using in your regimen. The foaming should not last longer than a few seconds and both should not remain sticky once absorbed into the skin. (Video: ruclips.net/video/r04W7rQV1R0/видео.html) "Pilling" (snakeskin, shedding) can occur due to too much product. Your skin can only absorb a certain amount of product, and any excess will be left on top of the skin so that when the next product is being applied, it rubs off. (Video: ruclips.net/video/l_C7HtO826A/видео.html)
Use you retinol in the evening as a last step. You can also watch the following video so that you have a general idea about the layering: The Ordinary For Beginners: ruclips.net/video/diaLVk_EsI4/видео.html
Technically yes. However, if you apply too many serums in a row, it may just sit on top and not sink into the skin. So, therefore, it's recommended to use only max three serums in a routine. Sometimes, 3 serums are already a lot, so it works best with 1-2 serums and a cream or suspension depending on your skin issues.
Thank you soooo much I literally just bought those three! I have a lot of acne scars so should I start with Alpha then Nicinamide then hyalurnoic? and do I do this in the morning or night or both? I also got the Peeling Solution which I will be using twice a week but I am not sure what I should be applying after from those three :) Thank you cutie for your lovely videos ^^ your skin is GLOWING.
Hey 😀 Yes, you can try this, but you may need to add retinoids and acids to smoothen the skin texture. If you really have acne scars, you may want to read the following: lesliebaumannmd.com/acne-scars-what-causes-acne-scars-and-how-do-i-prevent-acne-scars/
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet hi. Just wanted to ask. When should i apply the retinol. I am currently using these on my routine. AM: -Cleanser -Hyaluronic Acid -Niacinamide -Azelaic Acid - Moisturizer -Sunscreen PM: -Cleanser - toner -Alpha Arbutine - Hyaluronic Acid -Niacinamide -Moisturizer
I thought you cant use a toner with niacinamide? Because of the ph and how it conflicts with the toner so it doesnt let the niacinamide do its thing. I could be wrong but just going off of what I read online and what hyram described
You cannot use the pure forms together since the formulations aren't stable. For example, with Niacinamide Powder in its pure form and mix it with Glycolic Acid, it may interact with each other. The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% has a stable formulation that stays within the ph range so that you can use them in the same routine. It's beneficial if you want to use them for skin brightening. Niacinamide can help you with hyperpigmentation, and Glycolic Acid increases hydration and cell turnover, so this combination is excellent. I am not sure why people are telling this 🤷🏼♀️ Maybe they think that people are mixing it because of the powders. 🤷🏼♀️
Hi Melissa one more question can I use sera ve sa moisturizer with the 2%bha toner and niacinamide in one routine . You are so helpful. Stay blessed love.
I recommend using a gentle cleanser instead since you are already using a 2% BHA toner. You can use the Cerave SA cleanser, when not using the 2% BHA toner :)
You can use them one after the other, starting with Salicylic Acid, followed by Niacinamide, and layer Alpha Arbutin on top. You could also use Niacinamide and Alpha Arbutin in the morning and Salicylic Acid in the evening. There are many different options.
I am starting to use ordinary products and including it to my skin care routine. My concern here and my question is Can i use alpha arbutin in the morning? And for the evening i will use niacinamide? For daily use. Thank you!
Hi I have all of the serums here My morning routine is 1. Micellar cleansing water 2. Cera ve salicylic acid cleanser 3. The ordinary Hyaluronic acid 4. The ordinary alpha arbutin 5. The ordinary niacinamide 6. Cerave daily moisturizing lotion Is this routine okay? And can you recommend a night routine using these products for me.
Well, if you feel good and if it helps you with your concerns, then there is no need to change it. 😀 I have a video on how to set up your routine you may want to watch it and learn how to create an evening routine with The Ordinary products. Hey Melissa! Love love your videos. So informative! Also I just started a skincare routine that focuses on skin brightening, reducing dark spots, reducing production of melisma etc. I’ve been using the Cetaphil gentle cleanser for years now. I recently purchased the Ordinary Niacinamide and a sunscreen with hyaluronic acid in it. I’m also planning on getting Vitamic C and Alpha Arbutin. Could you advise me on how I could set up an AM and PM routine using these? Thank you in advance!💗
If you have melasma, I recommend getting in contact with a dermatologist. Since over the counter products may not do anything for your melasma. As for brightening, yes, have a look at Niacinamide and Vitamin C (like Ascorbyl Glucoside) if you only want to use The Ordinary products. You can use Niacinamide and Ascrobyl Glucoside daily in the AM and/or PM.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet OMG thank you for answering so quickly!💗 Also I’ve made a mistake in my explanation…I meant skin brightening , reduce dark spots and reduce the production of Melanin.🙈My bad. AM- Is it alright to use Vitamin C, alpha Arbutin and top it off with a Sunscreen containing hyaluronic acid (ISNtree SPF)?
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet That's the hardest choice to make. I've been researching for days now. I wanted something budget friendly as well and there are so many different products. Which Vitamin C products would you recommend? I do not apply a lot of makeup and I heard that the Ordinary Vitamin C is very strong and gritty :(
I want to visit Sweden 🙂 I already have a ticket for this summer, hope that the situation will become better. I recommend Retinol and Vitamin C. I have had the best experience with Paula's Choice and La Roche Posay products. Or, depending on the pigment, you can try the new NIVEA Cellular Luminous 630. That's a new formula; it's something different but may work well. Just have a look and Google it. 🙂 Also it is very affordable. However, depending on how severe your issues are, I highly recommend visiting a professional in your area and ask for advice 🙂
Yes, it is; however, I recommend using fewer drops to avoid pilling. The Ordinary Product "Pilling" Hyaluronic Acid And Niacinamide - What You Need To Know! (Snakeskin): ruclips.net/video/l_C7HtO826A/видео.html
hey melissa i’ve been using the alpha arbutin and niacinimide and also the hyloronic acid from the ordinary I just don’t really know which one to apply first, because ive heard hyloronic acid should be applied to damp skin rather than dry skin but i’ve been applying alpha arbutin first then niacinimide then finally the hyloronic acid which leaves my skin feeling a bit sticky, but I add the cerave daily moisturizing lotion which makes it feel better, am I doing it right ?
Sadly that isn't true, but even some famous "doctors" repeat it over and over 😏 You can use Hyaluronic Acid on dry skin; it's a stabilised form that cannot draw more water into the skin nor from the environment, making it effective on damp and on dry skin. Also, the serums you have can be layered in any order since they are all water-based 😀 All of these serums are sticky, and from my experience, it works best when only using 2-3 drops and 1-2 serums in a routine as otherwise, the skin cannot fully absorb it, and it stays on top, making it feel sticky, and at the same time, it can easily pill.
Hi! What routine can i incorporate niacinamide, hyaluronic, alpha arbutin with vitamin c 30% , aha + bha peels and cerave retinol serum? In Different time or days? My main concern are dull skin and brightening dark spots. Thankyou!! 😊
Hello :) there are different options. One could be like this: AM: Cleanser Hyaluronic Acid Niacinamide Alpha Arbutin (SPF when exposed to the sun) PM1: (3x per week): Cleanser Hyaluronic Acid Vitamin C 30% PM2 (Rest of the week): Cleanser Retinol PM3 (Once a week) Cleanser AHA+BHA Peeling Solution (ruclips.net/video/wSY0pYcy8KY/видео.html) Hyaluronic Acid (Moisturizer Optional, for example CeraVe Ultra LIght PM Lotion)

I want to add alpha arbutin on my skincare Can i use it in this order? AM 1.Cerave cleanser 2. Niacinamide 3 and 4. Azelaic acid or Alpha arbutin? Which one first? 5. Sunscreen PM- Im about to finish my retinol squalene .02%, can i get the higher percent for my 2nd bottle? 1. Cleanser 2. Niacinamide 3. Retinol 4. Cerave Moisturizer
Hello 😀 I'm not sure if you already watched this video, but I highly recommend it to know how to layer the products properly: How to Create a Skincare Routine With The Ordinary Products - A Beginners Guide: ruclips.net/video/png_aAg5B0A/видео.html AM: 1.Cerave Cleanser 2.Niacinamide (Water-Based Serum) 3 Alpha Arbutin (Water-Based Serum) 4.Azelaic acid (Suspension) 5.Sunscreen PM: 1. Cleanser 2. Niacinamide (Water-Based Serum) 3. Retinol (Anhydrous Solution) 4. Cerave Moisturizer (Cream) And yes. Now you can use a higher strength.
Hey Melissa!! I have a few questions 😁 Is it worth including The Ordinary's Hyaluronic Acid serum in the same rountine where there already is Hyaluronic Acid contained in The Ordinary's Alpha Arbutin + HA serum (I plan on using this serum on my entire face)? When it comes to using 0.5% retinol in squalane, can I use The Ordinary's Alpha Arbutin + HA and Niacinamide in the same rountine? If so which ones do I use before and after? And if not, which ones do I avoid mixing? :) Can I also use these after the AHA/BHA Chemical peel? Thank you 🙏
Hey :) Of course, you are fine to skip it. Hyaluronic Acid is basically in every formulation, along with other hydrating ingredients. It's just that people often like to combine these serums, so I created a routine with it to demonstrate the application. Yes, you can use Alpha Arbutin and Niacinamide before retinol 0.5% in squalane. Retinol is in an oil formulation, therefore it is used after the other serums since they are water-based. After the peel, I would recommend not using anything, or if you do, then just follow with the moisturizer or a hyaluronic acid serum to avoid overwhelming the skin.
Great video and explanation! Xo I just purchased these serums lol. Except I have amino acids+B5 instead HA. I also have caffeine solution for eyes and Argireline solution for eyes and forehead. Can I use these 2 together ? Thanks
Hey :) Yes, that's fine! :) It is recommend to not use more than 3 serums (3 little bottles) in one routine for best results and feeling. So, you may find it best to set up an AM and PM routine and still get most out of them :)
hello Melissa❤ i love your videos even i dont speak english very well. but i try to learn to understand you😅 I would need your advice.. Hey! :) For your blackheads, I recommend extracting them with a blackhead extraction tool or having them professionally removed by a beautician or dermatologist. Hey :) Niacinamide and Vitamin C should not be used in the same routine, however, since it is your cleanser it may work because you are washing it off! Niacinamide and Vitamin C may neutralise each other when used in the same routine, which you won't see with your eyes, but it also won't harm your skin! So, try it! :) Yes, the way you want to use it is correct :)
Hey! I have just ordered these 3 products and the Azeliac Acid Suspension, would I be able to use all 4 in a routine? Thankyou for such informative videos ☺️x
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Thankyou so much! Would it make a difference what order? Or would you still recommend using them depending on the level of concern?
@@caryslamerton3118 Yes, use them based on your concerns. Not sure if this actually makes a huge difference in what order you apply them, but Hyaluronic Acid may increase the absorption of the products that follow, so it depends on what you want to achieve. The Ordinary says the following: The general rule of thumb for order of application is: 1. Water-based serums 2. Anhydrous Solutions and Oil Formulations 3. Lotions & Creams & suspensions Important: If you have more than one water-based serum, you can apply based on the priority of your concern (the product that targets the most important concern should go first). I haven't tried that, but yes, you could give it a go! You may want to use it every other day to see how your skin will react to it before using it more often! :)
hey, can i use alpha arbutin and niacinamide everyday while i use lactic acid once every 2 days? and also is it common for my skin purging after use it? and what are the best product for acne? thank you in advance.
Yes, you can use Alpha Arbutin and Niacinamide daily (maybe once per day, if you are new to them). And yes, it's fine to use Lactic Acid 2-3 times per week if that's the best way for your skin! :) Some people can also use it more often during the week, but this depends on your skin tolerance :) If you have active acne, the Ordinary doesn't have acne treatments. You just may be able to reduce them with certain products. But if you are looking for an acne treatment, I recommend seeing a doctor or ask in the pharmacy or online :) Please note that with any active ingredient that affects skin behaviour, there can be an initial purging period during which breakouts are normal. Gradually incorporating one new product into your regimen at a time and applying test patches first to see what works best for your skin.
Hi! Can I use Alpha Arbutin and retinol (differin gel) at night together? If I can, which one goes first? I’m trying to get rid of acne & acne pigmentation. I’ve made progress on acne with my retinol so far and now I have a lot of post-acne pigmentation to get rid of!
Yes you can! Use Alpha Arbutin at first and then the gel😊 Or you may want to check out the Ordinary Ascorbic Acid + Alpha Arbutin... You can also use them together or one in the AM and then other one in the PM😊
Hi Melissa! I got a question I got the ascorbic acid 8% + alpha arbutin instead of the one that you show on the video. My question is can this one works as well with this 2 others?
The Ordinary does not recommend using Niacinamide and Ascorbic Acid in the same routine. So, use Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide in the AM and Hyaluronic Acid and Ascorbic Acid + Alpha Arbutin in the PM :)

Yes, this may work. However, if your dark circles are inherited or become visible due to hollowness, then there isn't much you can do with topical treatments. Additionally, factors such as stress, lack of sleep, or food intolerance can contribute to dark circles.
Hey could you help me , I’m going to buy those three products, can i use them like this : Am and Pm : Cleanser Niacinamide Hyaluronic Alpha arbutin Moisturiser Sunscreen

Hello🌺 after using these 3 serums, can I use a moisturizer to seal it all in, wait and then put on an acne serum (Skinceuticals Blemish Age Defense Serum) and then after 30min apply a moisturizer again? Thank you very much
Sounds complicated, and I am not sure if this is needed. But it may be best to apply the acne serum before the moisturizer. But honestly, you need to test this and see what works and feels best! :)
You could, yes. However, it may be best to use TO serums in the AM and then just keep your PM routine simple and just use your acne serum and moisturiser, and that's it! :)

@@angelinahanneman78 Oh, ok. Still, The Ordinary has a 2% Salicylic Anhydrous Solution which, in my opinion, is pretty gentle and isn't as drying. The reason why I mentioned it is because Niacinamide and Lactic Acid aren't so-called 'acne-treatments'. It may help to improve pimples and blemishes here and there, but if you have more stubborn acne, it's probably not doing much for it. However, it is an excellent brightening serum for post-acne marks. It depends on the Vitamin C that you are using. The Ordinary recommends not to use their Niacinamide with Ascorbic Acid or Ethylated Ascorbic Acid products in the same routine. The Ordinary mainly uses very simple formulations, which can make certain ingredients ineffective when combining them.

I have asked them once, and they told me the following: "Unfortunately, none of the Ordinary products can be considered medical treatments for melasma, you may wish to discuss suitable treatments for persistent signs of melasma with your physician or dermatologist."
hello, my problem is recently there has been small red pimples ( actually i think they are the fungal pimples ), so i bought hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, alpha arubtin and salicylic acid. How should my routine be with these few ordinary products ?
Hey! :) If they are fungal acne, I recommend visiting a dermatologist. Otherwise, I recommend watching the video below: The Ordinary Skincare Routine for Oily Acne Prone Skin: ruclips.net/video/BoLMjpkcDSw/видео.html Use Hyaluronic Acid instead of Marine Hyaluronics. Also, you don't need Alpha Arbutin :)
Hello! I recently bought the alpha arbutin serum and I am also using the Lactic acid 10%. I will use them in my night routine, applying alpha arbutin first I guess. And in the morning I will use arbutin and top it off with their Vitamin C 30%? Is that okay?
Hey :) When using Lactic Acid and Alpha Arbutin at night, use Lactic Acid first (which is an exfoliant) and then use Alpha Arbutin on top :) Yes, you AM routine is great! :)
Yes, that would be your last step :) But sometimes it can peel a little, so make sure to find the right amount. Or wait for a little in between like 5-10minutes. This usually solves this issue. It tends to happen with the Azelaic Acid after a few water-based serums.
Yes, however you may want to add Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid to it as well. Like so: AM Routine: - Cleanse - Alpha Arbutin - Vitamin C (Suspension in Silicone or Powder) - SPF PM Routine: - Cleanse - Niacinamide - Retinol - (Optional) Moisturizer Hope this helps :)

Hello Manuel 😀 Thank you. Yes, the sunscreen is fantastic ❤️
Hey Melissa, you're a savior ❤️
Happy to help!
You explained very well honey. Can i use vitamin c on top of all these products?
I wouldn't use more than 3 serums in one routine. So, if you want to add a Vitamin C product, do not use it together with Niacinamide and split your routine so that you have two serums in the AM and two in the PM.
thank you for the videos. really simple and easy to understand. very helpful! you're great

Hey😊
Your routine looks great! However, you may want to use the Squalane mixed with the Kheils Cannabis Stevia Oil Herbal Concentrate before applying your moisturiser with SPF and PM Moisturizer😊
You can use Alpha Arbutin, Niacinamide and Hyaluronic acid once or twice per day which depends on your skin and preference! It's important not to use too much of each serum since you layer them on top of each other! 😊

- Cerve AM SPF moisturizer

technically you can use them in any order since they all have a similar texture. So just test it 🙂
Hi Melissa, first of all l would like to thank you because l've been using this product fr the pass 2 weeks.
😀 Yes.
Alpha Arbutin = Water-Based Serum
Niacinamide = Water-Based Serum
Rosehip Seed Oil = Oil
Azelaic Acid Suspension = Suspension
“rules” 😆 or let’s say it’s recommended:
The general rule of thumb for order of application is:
1. Water-based serums
2. Anhydrous Solutions and Oil Formulations
3. Lotions & Creams & suspensions
Important:
If you have more than one water-based serum, you can apply based on the priority of your concern (the product that targets the most important concern should go first).
Use a "patting" application method, as opposed to "rubbing."
Always apply sunscreen when you are exposed to the sun!!
Some products can have a foaming effect upon application depending on the other products you are using in your regimen. The foaming should not last longer than a few seconds and both should not remain sticky once absorbed into the skin. (Video: ruclips.net/video/r04W7rQV1R0/видео.html)
"Pilling" (snakeskin, shedding) can occur due to too much product. Your skin can only absorb a certain amount of product, and any excess will be left on top of the skin so that when the next product is being applied, it rubs off. (Video: ruclips.net/video/l_C7HtO826A/видео.html)
Hey Melissa,
good to know how to use these products. I also ordered Retinol 0.2% with these 3 products. Could you tell me when to use Retinol?
Use you retinol in the evening as a last step.

Thank you so much for reply
Much appreciated 😊
you have been a god send navigating ordinary products, can I use plant derived squalene on top of the 3 water based serums?
Technically yes. However, if you apply too many serums in a row, it may just sit on top and not sink into the skin. So, therefore, it's recommended to use only max three serums in a routine. Sometimes, 3 serums are already a lot, so it works best with 1-2 serums and a cream or suspension depending on your skin issues.
Thank you soooo much I literally just bought those three!
I have a lot of acne scars so should I start with Alpha then Nicinamide then hyalurnoic? and do I do this in the morning or night or both?
I also got the Peeling Solution which I will be using twice a week but I am not sure what I should be applying after from those three :)

Yeah, the order of application is correct🥳

Hi i am a New subscriber from Sweden. I need to ask you i am suffering of pigment what kind of the ordinary can i use. Thank you
I want to visit Sweden 🙂 I already have a ticket for this summer, hope that the situation will become better.
Hi Melissa, I was wondering if it’s okay to use cleanser, alpha arbutin, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and azelaic acid for morning and night?
Yes, it is; however, I recommend using fewer drops to avoid pilling.

Should i first use glycolic acid toner, hyaluronic, niacinamide and alpha arbutin? Or bha exfoliant instead of glycolic toner? Please do answer
What are you trying to target? Acne? 🤔
hey melissa i’ve been using the alpha arbutin and niacinimide and also the hyloronic acid from the ordinary I just don’t really know which one to apply first, because ive heard hyloronic acid should be applied to damp skin rather than dry skin but i’ve been applying alpha arbutin first then niacinimide then finally the hyloronic acid which leaves my skin feeling a bit sticky, but I add the cerave daily moisturizing lotion which makes it feel better, am I doing it right ?
Sadly that isn't true, but even some famous "doctors" repeat it over and over 😏
You can use Hyaluronic Acid on dry skin; it's a stabilised form that cannot draw more water into the skin nor from the environment, making it effective on damp and on dry skin.
Also, the serums you have can be layered in any order since they are all water-based 😀
All of these serums are sticky, and from my experience, it works best when only using 2-3 drops and 1-2 serums in a routine as otherwise, the skin cannot fully absorb it, and it stays on top, making it feel sticky, and at the same time, it can easily pill.
Hi! What routine can i incorporate niacinamide, hyaluronic, alpha arbutin with vitamin c 30% , aha + bha peels and cerave retinol serum? In Different time or days? My main concern are dull skin and brightening dark spots. Thankyou!! 😊

2. Niacinamide
3. Retinol
4. Cerave Moisturizer

Hey Melissa!! I have a few questions 😁
Is it worth including The Ordinary's Hyaluronic Acid serum in the same rountine where there already is Hyaluronic Acid contained in The Ordinary's Alpha Arbutin + HA serum (I plan on using this serum on my entire face)?
When it comes to using 0.5% retinol in squalane, can I use The Ordinary's Alpha Arbutin + HA and Niacinamide in the same rountine? If so which ones do I use before and after? And if not, which ones do I avoid mixing? :) Can I also use these after the AHA/BHA Chemical peel?
Thank you 🙏
Hey :)
Of course, you are fine to skip it.

I use 2% bha toner then hyaluronic acid , niacinamide then alpha arbutin finish with cera ve moisturizer with sunscreen.
Hey :)
Niacinamide and Vitamin C should not be used in the same routine, however, since it is your cleanser it may work because you are washing it off!
Niacinamide and Vitamin C may neutralise each other when used in the same routine, which you won't see with your eyes, but it also won't harm your skin! So, try it! :)
Yes, the way you want to use it is correct :)
Thank you so much for your reply you are amazing I'll change my cleanser then.
Hey! I have just ordered these 3 products and the Azeliac Acid Suspension, would I be able to use all 4 in a routine?
Thankyou for such informative videos ☺️x
Yes, but it tends to pill. If this happens, wait 2-5minutes in between. :)
The Ordinary says the following:
The general rule of thumb for order of application is:
1. Water-based serums
2. Anhydrous Solutions and Oil Formulations
3. Lotions & Creams & suspensions
Important:
If you have more than one water-based serum, you can apply based on the priority of your concern (the product that targets the most important concern should go first). And it’s recommended applying eye-serums (such as Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG) first after cleansing.
It’s recommended using no more than 3 serum formulations in a single routine for optimal skin penetration.
About 2-3 drops of each serum and 1 pea-sized amount of creams should be enough for the full face and neck.

hey, can i use alpha arbutin and niacinamide everyday while i use lactic acid once every 2 days? and also is it common for my skin purging after use it? and what are the best product for acne? thank you in advance.
Yes, you can use Alpha Arbutin and Niacinamide daily (maybe once per day, if you are new to them). And yes, it's fine to use Lactic Acid 2-3 times per week if that's the best way for your skin! :) Some people can also use it more often during the week, but this depends on your skin tolerance :)
If you have active acne, the Ordinary doesn't have acne treatments. You just may be able to reduce them with certain products.
But if you are looking for an acne treatment, I recommend seeing a doctor or ask in the pharmacy or online :)
Please note that with any active ingredient that affects skin behaviour, there can be an initial purging period during which breakouts are normal. Gradually incorporating one new product into your regimen at a time and applying test patches first to see what works best for your skin.
Hi, Melissa. Can i do 1 drop of niacinamide and alpha arbutin to be applied together at once?
Hello, yes, of course :)
Use Alpha Arbutin at first and then the gel😊
Or you may want to check out the Ordinary Ascorbic Acid + Alpha Arbutin...
You can also use them together or one in the AM and then other one in the PM😊
Is Azelaic Acid suspension 10% better to use during the day or night?
Can be used either in the AM or PM, whatever works the best for you😊
Hi, I wanted to know if I can use Alpha Arbutin, Niacinamide, and Vit C together in that order?

5.Rose Hip Oil (Can use this in the morning as well?)
6. Moisturizer

Is that okay?

Also my bf has dark pigment on his cheeks like sunburn . Can I use any of the ordinary serum for him ? Please let me know 😢😢❤️
Yes, this may work. However, if your dark circles are inherited or become visible due to hollowness, then there isn't much you can do with topical treatments. Additionally, factors such as stress, lack of sleep, or food intolerance can contribute to dark circles.

Can i use alpha arbutin as spot treatment, then hyaluronic acid in all my face and last the niacinamide?
