Great video! I think I finally got my scalp care figured out. My scalp does best when I cleanse it regularly; a monthly clay mask really helps to detoxify my scalp. Regular oil treatments really help. I lightly oil my scalp on wash day and do regular scalp messages. I find that I only need to oil my scalp once on wash day, no additional oil is needed. My scalp feels great. It’s not dry and it only itches close to wash day.
Great advice! I'm gonna pin your comment because maybe oiling once after wash day is great too so you're not overdoing it but still providing extra moisture to your scalp after cleansing.
Bravo! I haven't oiled my scalp since I was a kid. It clogs and chokes your hair follicles! It kills the tiny new hairs that replace the ones that fall out. Plus, the oil migrates down onto the forehead and can cause breakouts. I don't have any flaking or dryness or itching. Good vid.
Hey Iyda , I am a Licensed Massage Therapist and that is correct it does stimulate hair growth and wakes up stubborn hair follicles! Thanks So much!😚😚😚
mia alexander that’s so awesome! My good friend is also a licensed massage therapist and she also confirmed that with me too! I need to make a habit out of it!! ♥️♥️♥️
First of all great video😊. You give great tips as always. I stopped using oil on my scalp as well and it stopped being itchy. It was definitely a big change! Specially when you have low porosity hair, you've gotta be careful with what your using so you dont irritate your scalp or overload your hair. When I use to oil my scalp it will not pass 3 days without being washed but once I stopped,I can go for a week or so.
1 your gorgeous and 2 it’s crazy that this video popped up because I started watching hair oiling videos yesterday. I have 4b, fine strand, medium density, low porosity hair. My scalp has been itchy lately. I decided to start oiling my hair for pre-shampooing but not my scalp of course I heard it blocks new growth from breaking through the surface. Thank you for the video 🙃
Like you, when I wear box braids my scalp becomes dry. I live in Colorado where it is extremely dry. I do the same thing you do spritz water and oil mixture with tea tree and that seems to help. I think you are absolutely correct it so varies from person to person. Thanks for sharing!
My scalp feels 💯 better after DAY ONE of NOT oiling my scalp! I am DONE with oiling my scalp! I will do an oil prepoo the night before my wash day. That is IT!!! I was waking up scratching my scalp like a MAD 🐕!!!
I should have watched this video before I‘ve put oil on my scalp after washing it, hoping it won’t get too dry 😩 but that video was very helpful, guess I won’t do that again lol
I've been dancing back and forth with oiling my scalp. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I'm not really sure if I notice a difference. Right now, I'm back on oiling my scalp to see if it helps.
It comes off after we 🚿 bath/shower so it doesn't clog our pores. Then we put it back on after we cleanse our body on a regular basis. The scalp will get build up cause it's not being washed off as often then reapplied.
My mother taught me oil the scalp grease the scalp keep the hair dirty 🤣🤣 that’s what the people in the hood say but if you think about it most of the people who say this don’t have long healthy hair my mom can put corn oil in her hair it grows regardless but not me ☹️
When I put oil on my scalp my hair was itching so bad. I had did a hot oil treatment after shampooing and then I conditioned my hair and then used more oil to seal moisture. My hair was sooo itchy. Now I don’t use oil on my scalp
Can we all just demand a makeup tutorial. Your makeup is so pretty and natural. I know this is a hair channel, but come on, can you help a sista out. LOL!!! I need some tips. PLEEEESE :D
When it's hot and humid, my skin and scalp produces soo much sebum when it's dry and cold, none. It's so annoying, it really should be the other way around. I used to use hair moisturiser for my scalp but that eventually led to product buildup and was scared of oils because i thought it would be worse. I recently thought if sebum is oil then oils should be fine, tried shea butter and i love it. But it's only for when my skin and scalp is dry and i know i'm not producing any sebum.
bbappzz98 Have you tried jojoba oil? It’s the oil that’s most similar to the sebum produced by our hair. It might work for oiling your scalp when it’s dry. It’s more expensive than a lot of oils, but it’s such a great light oil.
@@wannabe41 no i haven't, i did try shea butter and i really like it and i have soo much shea butter that i think it's unlikely i will purchase something innyhe near future. But i'll keep it in mind!
It works since I watched your video. I used less and less oil and it’s working. When is the best time to wash your hair thou? In the morning, day or evenings?
I have low porosity 3b -3c coily curls but I wash my hair with plain water alternate days & use hair treatments or deep conditiners ...but shampoo only once in 2 weeks. My hair is pretty good in health ..but is it ok to wash alternate days with plain water ....????? bcox I'm not able to keep my hair unwashed for a wk.

I think this is good advice ! Kind of gives your scalp a jump start for the sebum
Thanks for the advice
I thought I was the only one who didn’t oil my scalp. It oils itself lol
Must be nice
@@lilggs4813 it’s not nice 😩can’t even wear my hair flat ironed without it becoming greasy and stringy. Won’t even last a week!
@@SashaMJay Eek it really do be like that
Yu better at Least thank God you’re producing it to begin with!

Your makeup is amazing! Can you tell us what you use and do a tutorial on how you apply it to look so natural? Thank you 😊

So with low porosity, we dont need to oil it?
Always excited when I see your post! I learn a lot..I usually 'listen' to my scalp to see if I need to oil it..most times I don't
Awe that is so sweet, thank you so much! Yes I agree, it's always best to listen to you scalp/hair! :)

I don't oil my scalp either. It made my scalp itchy plus i have seborrheic dermatitis. I only use oils as a prepoo then wash it off.
How do you prevent dry scalp thou?
@@jamilashirley8503 my scalp doesn't get dry actually so I'm good

Glad you mentioned low sebum production. That is me...always has been. I actually don’t oil my scalp. Though, I probably should. 😮
literally still have almond oil on my hands cause i just oiled mt scalp then you upload this!
But if it works for you thats great! :)
But we use Vaseline on our skin and it’s the same as grease? I don’t get clogged pores with Vaseline and use it all over myself

is a sulfate free shampoo enough to cleanse the oil off ur scalp?

My scalp hates oil on it, it makes my scalp bleed I cant work out why....
How do you do a scalp massage without adding oils?
do u still use leave and Conditioner
Hi Iyda! I need your help! I need a good clarifying shampoo for protein sensitive/low porosity hair. I have major buildup and don't know what to do!
Try an ACV rinse and if that's not enough, shampoo afterwards
