    Thank you for another great video. Would you recommend this for someone with seborrheic dermatitis who is really sensitive to oils?

      Hiya! I sure would! Cade oil is one of the more common ingredients I use in my ointments for treating scaly conditions, so it's definitely worth trying. If you are unsure how your scalp would react to using oils, then I would suggest you add the cade essential oil directly to the clay mask and use it that way, instead of applying the oil mixture first? If you are mixing it with the mask, add a couple more drops though so its effectiveness isn't drowned out by the concentration of the clay. I'd say about 10-12 drops instead of just 7.
      Will you please let me know how it goes? 💛

    The moment... When you live in a remote hippie village in egypt, really need a detox, find this video and think you have to probably wait until you’re back in europe to get all this ingredients for really expensive somewhere online... and then you try the nature shop up the street literally 50m away and find EVERYTHING you need there for about 20€ total... then you know you are in the right place! I used to have so long, thick, silky smooth, shiny and soft hair before, I really loved my hair and everybody would compliment me until one day my hair turned into my worst nightmare due to excessive hairloss,it's been 4 months since my hairloss started and my hair are ruined, I even lost hopes and was soo insecure about my hair but now I am trying to revive my hair and I would definitely succeed!! I thought of starting with my scalp first that's why I searched for such kind of video and I immediately subscribed you!!

    I cut my locs off 6 months ago after two years because I felt like they were thinning at the root. I’ve always been protein sensitive and my hair has always been incredibly dense, thick stand and super corse. As someone who has been natural for over 30 years scalp cleansing was always easy because I could wash as often as I needed. Not the case when you’re loc’d. I somehow ended up using O- - - - - x shampoo which my hair into tumbleweed. Needless to say the hair loss has been tremendous and my scalp is enraged. All those OTC shampoos are so ineffective and drying. I can’t wait to put my mask together. Thank you. 🙏

    If it helps put the water in the bowl first and then use a fine mesh strainer and sift the clay in little bit by little bit that gets rid of lumps because there won't be any when you're stirring it in a little bit by little bit and then he loves us actually in the strainer can be smushed out before it hits the water.

    Love your video!! Something that I have noticed on Tik Tok mainly is that people are using bentonite clay masks as cleansers once a week. They are also claiming that it can help define your curls for low porosity hair. I have done some research on bentonite clay and notice that it has a really basic pH. And from my understanding, basic ingredients have the potential to blow open your cuticles. Basically, my question is how do you know when your bentonite clay is helpful vs harmful to your hair.

      Yeah ACV is anti inflammatory so it can be really great for the scalp especially. Also, fun fact, your scalp's pH is slightly acidic (as is ACV when mixed with some water), so it's a great way to "restore factory settings".

    • @TheJocelynrae
      @TheJocelynrae 3 года назад +1

      Using clay masks on your face is pretty common, so that shouldn't be a problem. But the skin on your face is generally more sensitive than your other skin, so this exact formulation may not work well for that specifically.
      You can look for a detoxifying face mask; they are often made of bentonite clay. Or look of a RUclips video on making a DIY detox face mask. It should be clay based as well.
      And as always, with face stuff, patch test on a small area on the skin under your jaw 24 hours earlier first to make sure that you are not reacting badly to the formulation.

      Hiya! Thanks for the love 🥰🙏🏽. The great thing about clays/clay washes is that they actually double as both. They can clarify and they also help to detox. The best part is, they do this just as well as your run of the mill clarifying shampoo - without any of the unwanted chemicals. So if you wanted to? You could actually use it on its own and STILL kill two birds with one stone. Hope this answers your question? 💓

    I noticed you put the clay on dry hair.. I have seen most people apply to wet hair only. I trust you most, so can you share the benefits of using on dry hair please?

    This is my HG scalp detox remedy now. My scalp has never felt cleaner. I have a question though. How long can I store the excess? Should I refrigerate it? My hair is bleached from mid-length to the ends, so I only apply it to the scalp. I didn't think it through and ended up making too much, and there's way too much left to just throw away.

    can I use just bentonite clay in that mixture you created? if yes, how do I adjust the amount of water for the mix?

    • @AfopeAtoyebi
      @AfopeAtoyebi  4 года назад +2

      Hey girl, you absolutely can if you only have one clay. The acv water mixture is the same, just add in as much water as you want (depending on how thick you want the mixture).
      I actually touched on this a little in this week’s video. Hope this helps. 🥰

    Hello,
    Would you recommend doing this detox method on someone who has locs? My husband has low porosity hair and is prone to build up. His scalp becomes very itchy and always seems to have dandruff that seems moist.
    As always, thank you for your expertise!

      This should work as its stripping the external film on the hsirs while the oil is nourishing the scalp. In the shower the hair will be washed then opened and receptive to accepting moisture internally.

    Hello. I wanted to get your opinion on spraying your scalp with water, tea, aloe vera juice... Etc, instead of oil/grease. Especially in between wash days. | Loving your content, I've been using clay washes as my go-to for when I'm feeling lazy. Would you recommend kaolin over bentonite or Rhassoul? If so, why? I've ever used Kaolin, but I've been interested in trying it for a while? (sorry for the long comment🙊)

    • @AfopeAtoyebi
      @AfopeAtoyebi  4 года назад +4

      Hi Oyinda!! I think water and aloe juice should be fine, mainly because of its acidic pH that matches that of the scalp. But use very sparingly. I'd say a scalp rinse ACV or aloe one a week after your wash days should suffice. Also I think last week 's video answers your quezzie about the clays, right?

    What if I use oils on my scalp for my scalp massage to stimulate hair growth? I do detox my hair once a month, and a hydrating mask once a week... ofc I’ve been using natural products for 1,5 year

    Afope Atoyebi Hello Afope, I also suffer with Serb Dermatitis and I’ve seen Ebuni before about it, I have used her shampoo but have run out now, thinking of repurchasing but also on the look out for more natural ingredients that will work for serb dermatitis, in your experience, do you think it’s best to stick with the medicated shampoos or you can switch to natural or a mix and match, I just struggle with the drying effects of medicated shampoos for serb derm, any tips will be very appreciated. Thanks you

      @@AfopeAtoyebi hi there I would really appreciate a video about this because I have the same question. The Ketoconozole my Derm prescribed me made my hair feel horrible! Not to mention dried up my scalp so I would spritz my scalp with aloe and teas but that didn’t sustain me for more than a few hours so I’d apply oil or grease my scalp to combat the dryness; which would then irritate my scalp again! What a viscous cycle!! I hope you’re able to do a video or share your thoughts in a post. Thank you and God bless this channel, it’s helping me out tremendously

    Thank you for this was just thinking I need a detox cause my scalp has been doing bits! Quick question I just bought some Shakakai and Aritha powders to use as "cleansers" or shampoos can they work in the same way as Bentonite? Or do they work more as your "everyday" shampoos and then use bentonite to detox like once a month?

    • @AfopeAtoyebi
      @AfopeAtoyebi  4 года назад +1

      💛Shakakai and Aritha are good natural cleansers, but they're not detoxers to my knowledge. I would definitely say the latter.

I do drink a lot of coffee n I though it’s dehydration so I started drinking more water. But I’m so far down! I have good hair but hate how it feels. I just don’t want to do anything to it!!
