How can you be happy with the missing parts in the set? These kits cost a lot of money and the lack of parts for Amati seems to be the norm! And I'm not just saying this, but I've come across it personally. The Fife kit also lacked 1x1 mm rails. In the Santa Maria kit, there were no 4x4 mm walnut rails at all!

Yes I agree but, I think there is no Company or Kit ( I have assembled ) without any missing Parts and Amati is not a exception . Amati , as well as the other companies do send you missing Parts for free without question. What makes me happy doing this Kit is that it does not have sooooo many Parts , it's easy to assemble ( with some adjustments ) and the Kit is very unique

I have to agree wit L-t Schmidt as well. While you have done your usual great job putting this kit together, there were just too many missing parts, poor instructions along with poor fits - more the on Fifie or the Bismarck. Yes, Amati will send you whatever is missing but the wait time, probably from Italy, really shouldn't be necessary. Is Amati about average for my criticisms? Are they the norm for these model ship kits?

Yes, thank you. I agree that there are way too much Parts missing in this Kit but is not the norm for Amati . In general there are always ( but not all the times ) one or two missing Parts in a Kit , same as from other Brands , and yes it will take a while for the replacement to arrive . In case of the Fifie and the missing ( or shortage ) of the 1x1mm Walnut Strips , well they knew about it , when I told them , so it would be interesting to know if Amati has react of this matter and put more Strips in the Kit . As for the Instructions , the Ferrari and some other Kits from Amati are old Kits and yes the Instructions are terrible but that does not apply anymore for the newer Kits ( Fifie Bismarck etc ) , those Instructions are now very well made and understandable . And btw criticism is always good if it based on facts like in this Case and I always hope that Companies read the Comments, react and do better in the Future .
