You are truly an amazing inspiration, I always love your work and learning something new every time you post a video. Thank you for sharing your amazing skills. Martin from Norway. 🇳🇴
Hi John, I'm also building this model, but from scratch. I know this model very well and my build sequence is different from yours. The chrome trim is only placed on the sides, there is none on the back (hull). Cheers, Cesar
Beautiful work as usual. I liked it a lot. Could you please tell me what is the diameter of the headless rivets you used? Also, if possible, the distances between two consecutive rivets in one row or column? Thank you so much.
Thank you . the included Brass Nails have a Diameter of 0.8mm . They are in the Center of each Plank from East to West on every Bulkhead. And the Space between 2 Bulkheads ( North to South ) are divided by 3 and only every second Row
Hi John i need to contact with you and speaking about making arno rc.I need some generally technical advices.I t is my first time about making wooden boat rc and i am anxius. Its not the motor-prop issue its the waterproofing steps.
HI, I'm getting to the stage of putting the first layer of varnish down soon. During the laying of the planks I filled in some larger unsitely between certain planks with glue and sawdust from the planks, but after the sanding process these planks showing as a slightly different colour, can you advise on any kind of thinner/solvent to remove the staining effect? tia
Well. Glue stains are always a problem if it comes to Varnish . The only advise I can give you is, painting this sections with Acrylic paint so close as possible to the Wood you are using and than varnishing it . It will be not entirely invisible but surely it will blend in . That was one difficulty on this Model , not leaving any Gaps between the Planks. Other option can be , mixing the Sawdust with Varnish, instead Glue and put it in between the Gaps . You need to try first which Option works better for you . Happy modelling John
@@davaoshipmodeller I’ve mocked up some decking with a glue and sawdust mix, I’ll try out various options. I’m hoping that sanding past the glue could solve it

I could find 4mm too. I'll try it out for size. Thanks for the response
Great, a 4mm Strip might work too
