I've come to realize over the years that as much as I admire the musicianship of the Van Halen brothers, Sammy and Michael are the only guys I'd bother hanging out with. Tons of talent without the insufferable egos. Dave carries the stage around with him, which has got to be the most annoying thing ever. Die hard Nancy (and Ann) fan over here, so what a treat to hear how well she and Sammy's voices blend, and what an authentic, chummy vibe they have together. Sammy seems to be an enthusiastic collaborator, and I really dig that. Sounds great. Kudos.

Offutt's English Tack & Wear. Sammy and Mickey shopped out there- my grandmother's store. Never spoke with either of them. Heck, didn't know who they were when I saw them. But one funny day, some guy in a fancy white car, with HEART shaped sunglasses and wild hair was leaving as I was arriving. I had to back up, cause it was a narrow road. Got to grandma's (house/shop) and they "oh, you just missed him!". I said, "No. I didn't. Who the WAS that?". That was Sammy Hagar. Mickey? Just heard the tapes that he left for grandma. Probably saw him and didn't even know it. (oh well. One pant leg at a time...)
