It's interesting to see them all together like this. I've not played any newer baseball games in years. Not including Wii Sports, the last one I bought or played was Triple Play 2000 on the N64. But, I love and had a lot fun with 8 and 16-bit arcade-y baseball games. I REALLY love SNK's baseball games, and Little League Baseball on the NES here may be my favorite baseball game of all time (though Super Baseball 2020 gives it a run for its money). I only had/have it and Major League Baseball for the NES, but, back in the day, I did play the first Bases Loaded at a friend's house. A cousin had the first RBI Baseball, and I know I at least rented Legends of the Diamond. I've tried Baseball Stars and Baseball Simulator 1.000 in more recent years, and those are fun though I prefer the Baseball Stars Pro (and even more so Baseball Stars 2) on the Neo Geo and Super Baseball Sim 1.000 on the SNES, which a friend had. Base Wars is pretty cool too, but in terms of how it plays, it doesn't hold a candle to 2020 Super Baseball. Otherwise, I played a lot of Roger Clemens MVP Baseball when I was young, but that was on the Genesis at my uncle's. I never played the NES version. But...Little League Baseball is definitely my favorite on the NES, and I do also have a soft spot for Major League Baseball on there too (though Pro Yakyuu World Stadium 91 on the PC-Engine is basically this but better though Japan-only). Little League is the only NES baseball game that I really like enough to play a few times a year on my NES itself though even though I have an Everdrive. To be honest, if I want to play a retro baseball game, it'll usually be something on the Genesis or SNES, usually Genesis.

Wow, it's been quite some time since you've gotten a new baseball game! I really enjoyed a few years of MLB the Show... from about 2006-2015 I thought it was a great series. So many people speak very highly of SNK baseball titles, it really made an impact of those who played it. Sounds like you have a ton of experience with baseball games both on the NES and a little bit past that era. I do miss those games and the arcade feel to most of them. Sports games don't always have to be realistic to be fun. Thanks for watching and dropping a comment!

Baseball Stars is and always will be the greatest baseball game ever made. It was so far ahead of its time. It came out early, before Tecmo Super Bowl or any game that kept stats. I remember my cousins and I had a league, and we all thought it was absolutely amazing that we had a schedule it created for us, and we could each power up our teams based off revenue. We even used to have side bets of POGs for the winners of the ERA and the HR titles. Unheard of to get real-time data in a game of that era for ANY sports game.

Baseball Stars was so ahead its time, being able to buy and fire players, winning money for winning games and using that money to improve your team, having a full season, a team with all women, create a player and create a team, man like you said it WILL ALWAYS be #1.. I remember I made a team and used all the names of me and my friends on my block lol, it was just great

In my opinion the old school sports games were actually fun, I don't play like the maddens or anything but boy I love playing sports games on the NES! Great video bro!

That's the key ingredient in video games... FUN! They can be realistic all they want today but if they are missing the fun factor, I don't play them. Thanks for watching!

Amazing list! I'm shocked just how many baseball games there were for the NES! I did not remember that many, and I even played some of them :P
Base Wars was one I wasn't familiar with at all, but it looks like an awesome twist on the genre!
    Well done, Tiger Chainsaw!

Thank you for rewatching the video and leaving a comment despite me being a dummy and setting the wrong time for it. UGH I AM BAD AT YOUTUBING. Regardless, it's super cool to hear that you've played some of these baseball games. It was definitely the golden age of baseball games. Again thank you for being such a great supporter.

Nice list! Man, I have so many memories with some of those baseball games! My cousin and I used to rent Baseball Stars and All-Star Softball all the time! Back then at the mom and pop rental store, only the boxes were on display with the games behind the counter and you would need to bring the velcroed tag with the number of the game to the clerk to get the game. We used to swap the one for Baseball Stars with a generic game in order to not lose our progress the next weekend when we would rent it again, lol! My dad should have bought me the game instead of giving me 5$ every weekend to rent it, as it would have been cheaper that way 🤣! Great video and keep up the good work!

I thought of you a ton when making this video, especially when I got to Baseball Stars. I knew how special it was for you. I wasn't aware of All-Star Softball though. Sounds like you had some great memories with a few of these games. I love the story of swapping Baseball Stars with a generic game to not lose progress, that is tricking the system! Renting video games was a special thing back in the day. Thanks for watching and dropping a comment!

Really enjoying your channel, commenting on this video to pump up the views hopefully. If possible on your next larger video where you rank every game for a console can you put the release date of the game? Also maybe at the end you could give us your favorite 10 from the library since your ranking is from critic reactions at the time? Anyways keep up the good work.

    • @TigerChainsawVideoGames
      @TigerChainsawVideoGames  Месяц назад

Wow, that is a really good idea! I like adding the personal touch at the end of the video. I'm sure I could put in the release date, that shouldn't be too much more work. Thank you for commenting and giving some suggestions. I've crossed of the Sega Master System and Atari Jaguar, I'm hoping to make a video on the NES ranking every game, but that's a lot of work! Haha.

Nintendo's original Baseball isn't particularly revered, but it was - along with Sega/ADK's Champion Baseball - a groundbreaking title. Baseball Stars was very deep and engaging.
Base Wars is ridiculous in the best way. Same with Baseball Simulator 1.000.
Hard for me to say what's best though. I'd like to try Legends of the Diamond, too. It's like one of those games someone dreamed up and became a reality.

Bases Loaded by default was my favorite. It was the first game I owned besides the pack in SMB/Duck Hunt. By gameplay it’s not great but it’s not terrible either. The other Bases Loaded are no fun at all with its weird hard to field camera views.
Of course Baseball Stars is great and a few others that I do own and play as an adult. But because of the memories and nostalgia of Bases Loaded is tops for me.

My guy I was wondering if you had played some of these when I was making this. I know what a big baseball fan you are. Some of these are quite good and can make you forget how bad your actual team is : ( RIP Indians.

@TigerChainsawVideoGames My team will always disappoint me but the game will always live with me no matter how painful it is. I wish baseball wasn't such an amazing sport like it is. I feel for you. I was bummed out the Indians are no more. At least we have our memories of our teams

I never knew Tecmo made a baseball game. Their football game is so popular, that’s all you hear about, it seems.
I was a HUGE fan of _Base Wars_ back in the day! My friend and I used to try to initiate as many of those fights on the base paths as possible! 😅
Awesome work, dude! You put a lot of work into this video list, TC! 🤘

Tecmo Football was a huge part of my childhood on the GameBoy, but like you I didn't know they made a Tecmo Baseball game until making this game. Base Wars is a blast, I finally got to sit down and play it last year with my buddy. I couldn't believe how fun it was and the fighting feature was a neat little bonus too. Appreciate you checking out this video my friend, hope all is well in AngryDad land.
