    I think the Mega Man 4 twist might have been a little more surprising at the time, considering Wily appeared to have died in 3. So bringing in a new villain would have made sense.
    Especially when you consider that you get the reveal after beating what, in any other Megaman game, would have been the final boss.
    After that point, though, Wily pretending nor to be the villain became a massive trope of the series that was repeated in 5, 6, 9, and 10.

      That's a good point, I like that they at least try to hide that it's Wily but whenever I play a new Mega Man I'm always like.... I know who is behind this LOL. I think we're all winners regardless as we get to play great games. Thanks for watching!

    Love how unexpected your final pick was here, and I have fond memories of that particular installment! Glad to see it get some love! I've beaten all of these games, and can agree with your top pick. Honestly, I feel like no matter which Mega Man game you play on the NES, you're in for a great time. Awesome list TC!

      I think a lot of people were surprised at my choice for the No. 1 spot. I wasn't aware you had good memories of MM6, that's super cool. I think you're right, no matter what we're all winners if we've played the Mega Man series on the NES. Each one of them are "good" games. Thanks for watching!

      It's a very fun series but a tough one! There were numerous times I got overly frustrated with platforming elements of an abundance of enemies. You should give it a shot if you have time. Thanks for watching buddy and for leaving a comment!

    I was going to see nice list but the fact that MM2 is not your first pick is outrageous! I can't believe you have different taste than I do! Unforgivable! Ok I've calmed down now LOL! To be honest I've only ever played the first 3 MM so I couldn't even make a top series like this when I don't have all the facts! Yes it's nostalgia, but even if I decide to play the last 3 of the series, I know for a fact that none of them would have a better soundtrack than 2! It's just too iconic to me! Great video and keep up the good work!

      LOL I'm so surprised at how polite other gamers have been about my list because many people disagree but they've been very kind and courteous! The first three Mega Mans are all great, I mean the series as a whole is pretty solid. MM2 and MM3 are both excellent and you can't go wrong with either of them being your top pick! Yes, I will agree the soundtrack for MM2 is FANTASTIC! Thanks for watching buddy.

    Had to see how you rated them all after watching your full breakdown of MM3!
    @3:00 lol poor Dr. Wily.. he really just can't help himself though 😂
    @6:19 I like that they put that effort in too really adds to the game
    @6:47 okay that's pretty cool!
    I love how thorough you were in your list and why each one was in that spot for you
    Really cool to see them all side by side and how much they have changed. Great video TC!

      That opening for Mega Man 4 is excellent and a great entry point for those who haven't played a game yet in the series as it does an awesome job recapping the events.
      Yes, the dark and light robots were super cool and a fun little aspect to the gameplay of that level.
      Thanks for watching and checking out this video. Always fun to see a comment from you! : )

    Pretty fair list per your reasoning, and I liked that. MM6 was a little surprising but moreover, MM3 until you cited length. It's like yeah, I can see that being a factor.

      Never apologize for watching my content buddy, I'm just so thankful you take the time out of your day to value a video of mine. They are very tough games, and difficult to beat. I think the platforming is the hardest part, but there are some bosses that just drive me nuts. I like MM6 because it's the easiest hahaha. Good idea for a video. I have played one through four, and I had the most fun with two and three. I can't remember a single distinguishing thing about four, so I suppose that isn't a good sign. Lol. I also like the simplicity of the first game.

    • @TigerChainsawVideoGames
      @TigerChainsawVideoGames  4 месяца назад

      Playing four out of six is very impressive! I think everyone will have different opinions on the series, and that's a good thing. There isn't a single game above them all or a single game below them all, they are all very solid games and based on tastes, the favorites will change from person to person. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!

    Tiger "Pro" Chainsaw, beating all 6 Mega Mans... Mega Men? Mega Man Games 😀
    I did try the original as a kid, but it kicked my butt! lol
    @6:42 Bright Man stage looks awesome! I know this is sort of a trope, but this was pretty early on still. I'd love to know who did it first.
    @9:06 haha, yeah. My least fave version of disappearing blocks was Double Dragon II, because not only was it a timing puzzle, but the jump mechanic of hitting A+B at the same time led to sloppy jumps... and the jumps were all fixed distance. Ugh.
    Always nice to see a series that keeps to their formula while adding to it. Very cool!

    • @TigerChainsawVideoGames
      @TigerChainsawVideoGames  4 месяца назад +1

      Yeah I struggled with what to call the games... Mega Man... or Mega Men games... LOL.
      There's no shame in that, every one of these games kicked my butt as an adult. They are all very tough.
      The Bright Man stage was very clever with the lighting and it made me think of some DKC levels that do similar tricks.
      Disappearing blocks are the bane of Mega Man games. I hate them. The only good thing is that some of the gadgets help you completely ignore the blocks and fly on by. I've never played Double Dragon II so I'll have to check it out!
      Thanks for watching buddy!

    2 will always be my personal favorite, but I can definitely see picking 6 as the best. It is obviously far more refined. However, the boss weapons kind of lose their point after mega man 3. Before that, you could kill a boss in 3-7 hits. After the charged mega buster, you could kill every boss in 7 with the weakness, or 8 with the basic shot, which kind of defeated the weaknesses. So you can beat any boss easy with the right weapon, or just beat any boss easy. That's why I prefer the earlier titles.

    • @TigerChainsawVideoGames
      @TigerChainsawVideoGames  4 месяца назад

      All the games have a charm to them, and I won't fault anyone for putting any game at the number one spot. They are all very good, I just think that 6 and 2 are a little bit better than the rest. I'm happy you pointed out the change in the Mega Buster. I've been doing in-depth reviews on each Mega Man game, and I mention your comment in my upcoming Mega Man 4 review because it's so true! It truly did change the franchise with the ability to beat any boss easier. Excellent point and I was happy to include it in my upcoming reviews. Happy gaming!

    For me, my list of best to least is 2, 6, 3, 4, 5, 1. Mega Man 2 and 6 get their spot because of nostalgia (these were the two we rented when I was a kid). Honestly, 4 and 5 are almost interchangeable. I don't think any of the games are bad, but I'm a huge Mega Man fan. I don't know if it was intentional, but the whole Mr. X plot line seemed like a joke since it seemed very obvious he was Dr. Wily.

    Mega Man games are TOUGH. I recently picked up the Legacy Collection for Switch and going back to them as an adult after not playing for decades is BRUTAL man. I don't remember 6 very well so I can't say where I place it. My favorites were always 2 and 3.

      @@TigerChainsawVideoGames The last three Mega Man games are great, but Mega Man 8 is just in the same league as MM1. The two things that make it a bit better than MM1 are the graphics and being able to save. The level designs are so-so, and the music just isn't the usual.

    My ranking would be, from worst to best:
    3, i don’t like doc robots or most of the endgame really
    1, it’s not the best game, but i have nostalgia for it y’know?
    2, i like it, it’s not my favorite, don’t really have much to say
    4, i’m one of those people who thinks the 4,5 and 6 era are generally better than the og trilogy, i find 4 the weakest of the second trilogy, it’s good, but i feel 5 and 6 improve upon it
    6, i like both 6 and 5 almost equally but if i had to choose a second place, i’d go with 6, i always play it after 5 though, so it’s possible it’s burnout that makes me like it less
    5, i think this game has the best level gimmicks with the least amount of beginners traps, best soundtrack to me too
    That’s my ranking, but it’s nice to hear other opinions

    Megaman fanobys: "MM2 is the best because health pickups are everywhere and the saw blade lets you shoot in 8 directions."
    Also Megaman fanboys: "IT'S ABOUT SKILL, DAD! YOU JUST WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND!"

I have to go with MM3 as my top pick because it was one the first NES games I played as a kid. The music in 2 and 3 are the best in the series in my opinion. But, the introduction of rush and proto man in 3 is another reason it's my #1 pick.
