Ranking the Mega Man NES Games from Worst to First!
Wow, never knew they made a NES game based off the movie Mr. Vampire. It's a comedy, kung-fu movie that probably doesn't translate well to 8 bit gameplay.
WCW is one of the best games ever, never mind just wrestling games. I shocked to find out it wasn't on The NES Classic, and isn't on The Switch.
Very nice video guys fair play. I dabbled with this on PS4 an could see the complex combat appeal however alas similarly the narrative & characters(or lack there of) didn't hold my focus too long.🎮⚡️☘️
I'm embarassed to admit it, but I don't think I've ever even touched a PS2. I just didn't know anyone that owned one. *BUT* I will say that of all the exclusives I missed out on, the majority of them were from the PS2, so I'm excited to see your series (as I love to discover games)! 1:41 I never heard of this one back in the day. Looks pretty decent. It is frustrating when rooms reset over and over. 3:20 never heard of this one either... though I don't play a lot of racing games, so I guess this isn't surprising. My favorite racing game is Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts, which is only barely a racer, haha 4:18 I always have a hard time with arcade shooter ports. I've played a couple on the wii, and they frustrate me. I want to be able to aim my gun, haha 5:30 I only played a bit of this recently on PC. I need to give it more time (as I only played the first bit) 7:00 yeah, I haven't seen many of the films. I did play GoldenEye, but that's about it. This looks cool! 8:09 I feel like I did play this. It must've been on another console or something. I think I played it at a party. I don't remember well. 9:23 That's too bad that it started out strong and then got worse. I've played a few games that took that path, and it's always disappointing 11:00 no surprise I never heard of this one. JRPGs are a huge blind-spot in my gaming knowledge. Looks cute though! 12:37 I've never heard of this one. Flying games are definitely hit or miss. 13:34 I agree, that plot seems unique, and I'm always down to try something different 14:10 more embarrassment... I've never even seen the movie. Haha, I love the story of how you got the game! Awesome! 15:00 Hey! Twins! haha. I do like gangs/mafia, but something about the movies has just never made them get to the top of my watch list. Great video! I'm excited for this series because it's sure to have TONS of games I don't know, since I just never had access to a PS2.
Silent scope I have for the Dreamcast and it sucks not having a scope or gun and just using the controller. I agree the first level of Frontline is awesome but the rest of the game is mediocre.
PS2 was the last PlayStation I owned, but I never got around to playing _Bloodrayne._ Seems like a TigerChainsaw type of game though. 😏😅 I’m trying to think of my favorite games on there… 🤔 I know _NFS: Most Wanted_ and _God of War_ are up there. I was also a huge NHL game fan, and played the hell out of those EA titles. 😅 I like this new series of yours, TC. A fun look at some more (to me, at least) obscure titles! 🤘
Awesome collection man. Always nice checking out your content
We didn't get Okage here over the pond. I can play it digitally through PlayStation Plus, but I really need to hunt down a physical copy. I have a US PS2, but finding American games in Scotland is a bit of a chore 😭🤣
Goldeneye on n64 only for bond games - tried most of them and couldn't get into any of them. Drome racers is a $2.00 and under game. Not bad, not good. Worth the price. OKage is on my WANT list 😊
Cy Girls - must be lots of ammo and health with all the enemy regeneration. Juiced - haven't played it either, but love arcade racers. Silent scope is so tough with a ps2 controller. Get a gun for full fun. Blood Rayne - I remember playing this on GameCube
This series is an awesome idea and one that I might use to showcase my collections as well! Juiced looks like a fun racing game so I'm adding it to my wishlist! I just bought Bloodrayne Revamped 1 and 2 on PS4 digital so I'll be trying them out soon! Drone Racer is already on my wishlist! I have Okage but I haven't played it yet! You're absolutely right about the Godfather game, it's fantastic! I have the regular version on PS2 but I want to get it on the Xbox 360! Not sure if you've played any of these but since you like gangster games you should look into these ones: Mafia 1, 2 and 3 (yes even 3 is good although is a bit different). On the tactic side, there's Narcos Rise of the Cartels and Peaky Blinders Mastermind or if you want to go after mobsters, then LA Noire is really good! I can't wait to see what you show next! Great video and keep up the good work!
I'm so glad this series resonated with you. I love discovering new games and I have through so many different RUclipsrs and posts on social media. It was a fun way of showcasing my collection too and hearing input on games I haven't played yet. Awesome to hear you are adding Juiced to your wishlist. Bloodrayne is such a blast, I loved it. Drone Racer is still a mystery to me. Okage is one I need to play through, it was fun when I tried it out. Godfather is so good, I was so surprised by it. I still need some of the Mafia games, but I will for sure check out the other mobster games as I haven't heard of them! Thanks for watching and leaving some great input.
Crazy how wcws ONLY nes game has a better game then ALL wwf nes games.
Haha yeah the WWF games were not of high quality. Thanks for watching!
1:10 whoa Kin Korn Karn was in this game too.😂
Lol, you never know who you're gonna find in these games! Thanks for watching.
Best announcer ever.
No one else hyped us up like he did! Thanks for watching!
The best wrestling game on the Nes is in Japan called Toukon Club made by Jaleco
I'll have to check that one out! Thanks for the suggestion and for watching.
Imagine what tecmo would have done with the WWF license
Man what a dream that would have been! Thanks for watching.
Driver is reportedly making a comeback via a remaster that will likely see a Switch release. 👏👏👏
What?! No Way!!! I didn't know that. How cool is that, hopefully it does well and we get another entry. Thanks for watching!
I love the traffic's in the world of days gone and driving the music to bicycle in the left and music❤😢
Tecmo World Wrestling was the coolest wrestling NES ever because of the move list, commentary, and animation. I'm starting to think that when Cesaro was in WWE got the spinning move from the NES wrestling game.
I agree, Tecmo World Wrestling was a gem! That was a great wrestling game for its time. I love the announcer in it. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
Great video! The only one I can recall playing as a kid is Tecmo World Wrestling and I've played Pro-Wrestling since then. The WCW game actually looks pretty interesting and I'd like to give it a try. It's probably still better than the recent WWE 2K games or AEW Fight Forever, which I found very disappointing.
I completely agree with you about the recent wrestling games, those are rough! Tecmo World Wrestling seems to be the best of the bunch. Tecmo Sports games back then were really polished. Thanks for watching and dropping a comment!
Techno was my favorite
@@ClayAdams that one looks so good! I miss Tecmo sports games. Thanks for watching.
I have to watch you on 1.5x speed to make it sound more normal speed
Haha I do talk slow sometimes. No worries, thanks for watching!
Like Jim Cornette would say, the "best" wrestling game on the NES is like being the nicest guy in prison. Almost all of them are awful, and the only reason they're remembered is nostalgia because it was all we had at the time. And a correction about Steel Cage Challenge, which I owned and played extensively back in the day: there are no signature moves. Everyone has the exact same moveset whether you're Bret Hart or the Undertaker. It also had some of the most unresponsive controls I've ever experienced in a wrestling game.
Oh man that's a great analogy 😅😂I feel that a lot of gamers are saying some pretty bad things about these games. Thanks for the correction, that must have snuck on by me! Appreciate you watching and dropping a comment.
I bought the Wrestlemania game back in the day. Man I can still smell that turd to this day
Hahaha there seem to be a lot of stinkers in this genre for the NES. Thanks for watching!
I absolutely loved this game,it was one of the first two games I got for my 3DS. I got Stella Glow and 7th Dragon 3 Code VFD that day. Highly recommend both
I also have 7th Dragon 3 Code VFD! Haven't played that one but I'm glad you said something about it. I'll have to check it out soon. Stella Glow was a blast to play. Thanks for watching!
I remember renting Tag Team Wrestling back when i was a kid. What an absolute turd.
Lol! What a bummer, a lot of gamers that have memories of these games are not saying good things 😂 Thanks for watching!
the Luminous Arc series as a whole are Tactical RPGs like no other
I only wish i got to actually play 3. I was obsessed with the first two games
I really need to seek these out now!
I never realized how many Wrestling games were on the NES. I only played Pro Wrestling and used to really enjoy that one. Tecmo World Wrestling looks like the best one from the list, and I definitely want to try that one! Steel Cage Challenge and King of the Ring look like the weakest of the bunch lol. Great video, TC!
I think Tecmo World Wrestling looks the best to me too. Cool to hear you played Pro Wrestling as a kid. Thanks for watching, GCG.
Tecmo World Wrestling is the best by far, followed by IMO, Wrestlemania Challenge.
That one looks the best to me too! Tecmo Sports games were awesome in the 80s. Thanks for watching!
Incorrect. I own all of them, and while Tecmo is definitely good, Pro Wrestling is fantastic. I honestly don't think any of the WWF ones are worth playing, except hearing the 8 bit entrance music is awesome. WCW is good, just dumb how everyone has those stupid tights. I want to like M.U.S.C.L.E because of the nostalgia as it was the first one I played, but it's bad. And Tag Team is bad too.
@@scottdehaan5864 Love the input! Glad you enjoyed Pro Wrestling so much. Super cool that you have all of these too! Thanks for watching.
4 hour battle, wow haha! I do have this as I do need to play it. The never ending backlog haunts me lol
The epilogues to this game and the characters are crazy.
Awesome list! Tag Team Wrestling and Pro Wrestling are amazing games! My cousin and I have played them constantly as he used to own TTW, and I had Pro Wrestling, so it was part of the playing rotation when we were kids! I've never played Tecmo Wrestling, but it looks good, so I will have to look it up! Great video and keep up the good work!
That's always cool when I hear memories from you about when you were playing these games. It's awesome to know you grew up playing these. Tecmo Wrestling stood out to me too. It looks pretty good! Thanks for watching.
Just a reminder, the creator of NES Pro Wrestling went on to create the Fire Pro Wrestling franchise, in which "Fire Pro Wrestling World" can be played on the PlayStation 4 or Steam PC (which has a pretty deep Workshop with a lot of user created content). The history alone is one of those "rabbit holes" that leads to some interesting useless knowledge, but does describe the inner workings of both video games and pro wrestling.
That’s a good point, the history of these wrestling games is really interesting. Thank you for watching and dropping all that knowledge. It's fun to see how far they've came.
One of the best things about 6 is the fantastic soundtrack done by Yuko Takehara. It's easily my favorite in the classic series behind 3 and 2. You could tell they were also working on X at the time. Some of the stages have a similar look to ones found in X. Even the Weapon Get screen is similar. Onto Mega Man 7 :)
Yeah, I'm with you on the music. Yuko Takehara was a superstar on that one. Thanks for checking out this entire series of reviews on Mega Man!
5 may not add much, some of the levels may feel a little gimmicky, and it's pretty easy, but it's my third favorite of the 6 NES games. It has a similar feel to Mega Man 3 IMO.
That's what makes these so fun to do! I love hearing all the different opinions on the games. Everyone has their own favorites or order. Nothing wrong with that, glad you enjoyed 5!
3:35 I still find it weird that somehow Wily, a human, has the ability to teleport in just like Mega Man. This is my second least favorite of the 6 NES games. It's not bad but it's just not as fun IMO.
Wow... you know I have never thought about that teleport 😂😂You've got an eye for the details!! Thanks for watching!
So yeah, this game has some obvious and not so obvious issues that can break the game but it's still one of my favorites in the series along with 2. It just has this cozy vibe to it compared to other Mega Man games. Alot of that is thanks to the terrific soundtrack.
Haha I love that you call it cozy. I don't think I've ever heard a mega man get called that! The soundtrack on all of the games are so good. It's really a signature of the series. I love it.
I always thought the red drops that fall from the ceiling in Wily Stage 5 was blood. I guess it's supposed to be acid but blood seems way cooler LOL.
Blood is COOLER! Haha, Dr. Wily's stages were always tough for me but I appreciate the details that they have in them. Thanks for watching!
I didn't play this game until later on in life when emulation became more popular. I always wanted to play it but none of my local rental stores had it. I also think it's the weakest of the 6 NES games.
Same! I played it through emulation in my late teens while I was at work. It was so much fun and opened my world to retro gaming. Thanks for watching.
Being developed by the same company, you can definitely hear the music similarities to the Gameboy Mega Man games. Some of the tracks in the game sound like they could be ending themes for those games.
I never thought about that! Something that I need to do is play the Mega Man GameBoy games. I've never done that and I wonder how they compare to their counterparts. Thanks for watching!
My 1st video game played . It was a few versions then Operation Wolf😊
Wow that has to be special! Choplifter was one of the first games I ever played too. I'm sure you have some great memories with it. Thanks for watching!
Excite bike
That's an excellent game!
Rc Pro Am
Another great racing game!
the NES is a terrible matchup for wrestling style games. They look bad, they are incredibly difficult, they just are not fun in any way. The SNES however, works. and the N64 is still the golden era of wrestling games. Engines are way better than even today's graphics-obsessed 2K era.
I agree it was a little rough to begin with haha. Something that I tend to think about is the limited buttons that the NES had. There were only four fighting games released on the console and it makes me think that with more buttons wrestling games could have been a little bit better too. Thanks for watching!
Enjoyed this one! I never played any wrestling games on NES, but on PS1 I had played one that was apart of a demo disc. Good times though.
Demo discs are sooooo cool! I have a ton of them and they are special since they are from my childhood. Thanks for watching buddy!
It's really cool to see these NES wrestling games to see what would become of them later on. Not a fan of current wrestling games, but Gen 5-7 wrestling games is where it's at
I'm with you and that Gen 5-7 is the best era for the wrestling games. So much fun back then! Bro, you need to go check out my Stella Glow review if you haven't yet. There are some wild parts in it that I think you will appreciate 😂😂😂😂😂
Tecmo World Wrestling is really good. I like all 4 WWF games, but Tecmo and Pro Wrestling are definitely the cream of the crop (and the cream always rises to the top, Yeeeeah!). I kinda hate Tag Team Wrestling, and no matter how much I want to like it, MUSCLE is really bad. WCW I also would like to enjoy, but I just don't. I don't think you missed any of the North American releases. Would loved to hear your opinions more in-depth!
I might have to do a follow-up video to get more in-depth on these games with more of my thoughts on them. I do reviews on games where I share my personal experiences with them and give them a score. Those are tons of fun to create, but I like doing these too because it gives me ideas on games I should play next. Thanks for watching and dropping a kind comment!
Some of these look pretty fun! As a big fan of Saturday Night Slammasters, I see a lot of similarities in a few of these games that would make them worth checking out. Nice video!
Yeah Slam Masters is one of the GOATs! Glad you enjoyed this video. Thanks for watching... but I can kick your butt at Slam Masters!
Awesome video. As a huge pro wrestling fan, this was a delight to see how far wrestling games have come
Those NES games were pretty wild, but I'm so glad you enjoyed this blast from the past! I haven't been into wrestling for awhile now but I appreciate all the crazy stuff they can do athletically. Let me know when the bra and panty matches come back ; )
I really wanted to send you wwf WrestleMania but forgot. The wrestling games on the nes are rough
I think it would be so fun to go to a live wrestling event and just get silly. Cherry was so disappointed that we will be missing m1dget wrestling. It's coming in November but we will be in Vegas. She instantly thought of you and your love of that type of wrestling.
The 80s were a blur... to be fair, I was pretty young :P 1:02 wait, does MUSCLE really stand for that, or did you make this up? I couldn't tell if you were joking. I had to google it, lol. That's funny. I had no idea they'd made an acronym. 1:47 I know it's dated now, but Tag Team wrestling's graphics actually look pretty good 3:09 WrestleMania is one I did cartridge swap for, so I at least had played this a bit as a kid. I loved "The Princess Bride" so I was super excited to play as Andre the Giant 😀 4:30 the Tecmo games were usually good quality. This one doesn't look familiar to me, so I must not have had any school-mates who had it to cartridge swap with 6:25 ooh, this one looks great! I don't think I played this one though, only the older WrestleMania 7:10 wow, there are so many similar ones it's hard to keep them straight. I'm sure it's easier if you are a wrestling fan, because you'd know that game X has wrestler Y and that makes it different 8:03 I get that it's easier to make a fair game this way, but without custom moves it feels less cool Excellent countdown as always! Well researched too! I'd have been scared to talk about any of those games, since they were similar enough to each other that I'd be worried I'd swap factoids, lol
Lol yeah I was kinda surprised by that acronym too! 💪 Tecmo I think is the best from the bunch. Their sports games were very polished back then and you could always expect a certain level of quality. It was nice to see their wrestling game match their brand. Hahaha that is so neat, I can picture little Cynic right now firing it up excited to play Andre the Giant! I agree that you need custom moves in a wrestling game. Without them, what makes the wrestlers separate besides the looks? That's boring! The wrestling genre is a popular one, but I feel bad for gamers with a NES. There were not a lot of quality ones despite there being a few to choose from. Thanks for watching buddy!
