    Until now there is no better version
    of Choplifter.
    That in itself is pretty incredible
    for a game released that early.
    Cheers!

    Fun Fact: F-16 Fighting Falcon is the only game in the entire Master System library that has a link-up mode! You can plug the Japanese version into another Master System and play two screen dog fights!

      @TigerChainsawVideoGames  Год назад

      Most “fun facts” that people disclose are boring but that one was actually fascinating! I never knew that was possible. It makes me want to see it in action now and it gives F-16 some much needed perks. Pretty sweet! Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching 🤙🏻

    Even though I wouldn't get a chance to play a Master System for years, I do remember the hype in the mid-to-late 80s about its release!
    Poor "My Hero" got roasted! haha.
    I do like that the Master System built in a little game... but surprisingly, a lot of people never realized it was on there. I had a friend who had a Master System for years before they ever tried turning it on without a cartridge in it.
    So many of the early flight sims were crazy boring. They forgot the golden rule: Games should be fun!
    I used to play a version of that World Grand Prix on the computer, but it wasn't my computer, so I don't know much about it. I actually would play it at my Scout Master's house.
    Great compilation! Keep up the great work!

      I can't believe you heard of any hype for the SMS! I'm glad you did as I feel like they didn't do a good job with the marketing aspect. My Hero... yikes man, this is one of the toughest games ever. Snail Maze is pretty fun and the fact that they put that in there is incredible. Early flight sims were soooooo bad. They needed that speed! That's cool you played World Grand Prix!! I had a buddy send me my copy and just recently got into it. Thanks for watching and I'm happy you're feeling back to yourself.

    Great video, as always! I have to agree with your assessment of all of these games. We got our SMS in 1988. It came bundled with Hang-On/Safari Hunt bundled, and we got Choplifter along with it. We spent tons of time with all three. Best version of Choplifter ever! Hope you plan to cover some later years; 1989, especially, was a killer year for the SMS in NA.

    • @TigerChainsawVideoGames
      @TigerChainsawVideoGames  Год назад +3

      You got a great bundle and Choplifter too?! You were already in gamer paradise in 1988. I was never good at Hang On… but Choplifter I got very good at. My next video I suppose I’ll spoil it but it will be the last 10 games released for the SMS although that means PAL games. I don’t count Brazil.

  • @GameCubeGalaxy

    Ghost House looks like a fun game that I would’ve gotten with the SMS at launch. It looks like the console had a solid selection of titles overall for launch day. Great video as always man, and you can hear the passion you have for the SMS.

    Aside from the built-in games (Hang-On and Safari Hunt), the first two games my sister and I had were Space Harrier and Ghostbusters. So awesome! To this day the Master System port of Space Harrrier is still the preeminent version for me.

    • @TigerChainsawVideoGames
      @TigerChainsawVideoGames  Год назад

      Ghostbusters is still one I need to play myself. Space Harrier on the other hand is one that I’ve put some time into and I really stink at it haha. It’s so hard for me, but the boss fights are a lot of fun. I love hearing all the memories from other SMS gamers who share what games they had growing up. Thanks for watching!

      @@TigerChainsawVideoGames 😂. To be honest. I don't recall much Sega anything in Mexico with the exception being a Sonic 1 Arcade machine. Only the few games my grandmother gave me that didn't work on her NES arcade cabinets. I know it was there but I don't think it reached the towns outside the big cities. I did see a Neo Geo Cabinet at some point in a larger town.

    Transbot actually has 3 levels.
    You have to be using weapon D during the bit with the seemingly indestructible mines.
    Weapon D will smash them, and then you enter an underground level where you take on what looks like a walker from Star Wars.
    It took me years to find out about this as its never mentioned in the manual.

    Good stuff, that explains the games I saw that my cousin got that Christmas (I never had my own SMS). I had a really good time with Ghost House and Transbot. It never dawned on me that Transbit only had two levels at the time lol. Hang-On and Safari Hunt were ok, I think Sega could have picked better pack ins. I've heard nothing but good things about the Choplifter port though and I'm actively looking for a clean copy.

    Man Golvellius music is the GOAT. Hang on looks good but enduro racer is more fun.

      My Hero can be addicting as it’s so brutally difficult and every step is an adrenaline rush. Breaking a PR in the game is always fun. F-16 fighting Falcon looked to be the worst in my opinion.
