Hello! I own a ktm adv 390 and let me tell you its a beautiful motorcycle. I am 5ft7 and the bike is on the taller side for me. But thanks to its light weight and good weight management + the electronic safety features, the bike makes me feel very comfortable at all speeds and all surfaces. Smooth roads, gravely roads, wet roads no matter what, rides phenomally well. Yes, it has a few cons.. 1. Low end could be better.. could have made riding better in the city.. but you can easily get used to the bikes character and it does not come up as a problem any more. 2. Stiffer rear suspension.. low speed ride suffers a little beacuse of the rear shocker.. but I tend to saddle on rough roads.. also I am exploring the option to change the rear shocker to the adjustable suspension from adv 390 SW.. hope this helps to make the bike even better. In my personal opinion, for our country and the roads we have, we dont need anything bigger than this in terms of both power and comfort..

@@bigbearbangalore Hi, i just installed my new carbon racing footpegs, however, there is one problem I'm facing and was wondering if it's a problem or something you should get used to. So the footpegs are chunky and a little bit outward compared to the stock footpegs to account for the adjustable portion. Hence my legs are a bit outward on both sides and hence unable to grip the tank like i could before. Also the brake pedal is inward now compared to the footpegs and therefore I'm having to bring my foot inwards to use the brake pedal and unable to keep my foot over them. Should I go back to the previous setup of stock footpegs or should I just suck it up and get used to the new setup and the above problems will be taken care of via more practice? Awaiting your suggestion on this sir.
Hello. When you wish to grip the bike, crank your toes inward and your legs will grip the bike with the calves and knees. And gripping is more useful when standing and these pegs are quite good for standing. Give it time to get used to it. Regards.

Hi sir, how about carbon racing adjustable foot pegs? Would you recommend those?
Yes, definitely.
@@bigbearbangalore thanks sir
Regards.
@@bigbearbangalore thanks a lot for the thoughtful response sir. Will keep it in mind and give it time
Good video. Saw both videos on KTM 390 and CB 500x , what would be your choice
Thanks.
Tough choice. If budget permits I would go for the 500X. It's got that little more oomph being a twin. And it can go literally anywhere that a motorcycle tourer would want. Cheers!
Hi I am from Delhi. Bit confused between KTM 390 and meteor 650, which one should I buy
Hello. They are polar opposites. Cannot compare. Totally depends on what tye of riding tickles you.
But anyway, the 390Adv is far more versatile than the SM650. Take long test rides of both and choose what tickles your fancy. Cheers!
@@bigbearbangalore thanks, I tried but not able to get 390 adv test ride 😢 . But will. Are there lot of vibrations on 390. I just sold bullet Electra after owning it for 13 years . And Do not want vibration on bike now. And more interested in 390 But worries about vibration
The vibes are very low and not at all a problem. Nowhere near the Electra. 🙂
I totally agree with you. Engine crashguards are a trend now. Btw wanted to ask you, what do you think about ss moto corp crash guard? It fixes on stock crash guard and it’s lightweight. Planning to install it. Need recommendation.
Hi! Small light motorcycles are more affected by added weight. It's OK on big CC bikes to fit big upper guards.
Anyway I think it's a personal choice. Go for it if it makes you feel safe. Cheers!
Tank is worth 35000 rupees .
Crash guard ,bash blate is needed
OK noted. 👍
I would really like to reduce my Himalayan weight to essential only as I have to get the bike ready for Leh trip next trip. Of course I am also reducing my weight by 15 KGS. Please advise
There a 2 part RUclips video on our channel on the weight reduction and modifications of my Himalayan, the Muddy Hog 411. Please find some time to view them. Thanks.
Bikes which make their power high in the rev band needs special skills. Also the centre of gravity matters
👍
where can we get this exhaust silicone insulation?
Amazon
Hi,
VStrom SX doesn't come with Crash Guard. But I can get one from Suzuki, its price is Rs.699 and it looks just like a stock crash guard.
Please suggest me. Should I go for crash guard from Suzuki showroom or JB crash guard from Bandidos pitshop.
I prefer OEM crash guards.
@@bigbearbangalore Oh okay. Thank you ! I will go for OEM ! And I will also buy Carbon Racing Saddle stay!
Best wishes.
@@bigbearbangalore thank you 🙏
Where can i get that silicon insulation
Try amazon
Hello Sir,
Can you create a video on customers experience on using the motorex oil ?
This will assure much better than just taking name. Since the official partner for ktm was motorex and in India they use motul people still dont research about these things.
Thanks
Will check on this possibility. Thanks for the suggestion.
I have not ridden 390A, however on paper it is just 5 KG lighter than BS3 Himalayan. Again don’t want to go in Himalayan vs 390A
Yes. There is a world of difference between the two. Ride them back to back on the same road, the differences become quite obvious. Thanks.
@@bigbearbangalore What I mean is, the advantage is not weight but the power. Hope Himalayan 450 will solve this issue.
Got it. And yes I hope the H450 will deliver some good power to weight ratio. Cheers!
@@mandarshahane7378 Having been through the RX100/KB100/CI350/Machismo500/Classic500 and then upgrading to a KTM390Adv, there’s no going back for me to the heavier bikes.
I have tried the new Him450 and while I am mighty impressed with the way RE is evolving, they still need to address the “lightness” issue. The Adv390 simply shines when it comes to “manoeuvrability” esp on winding roads. 😉👌🏼
@@mandarshahane7378 BTW… Big fan of yours for the GQ ride you accomplished on your RE350. 🤗
Can you please share which sliders cum foot stretch from prospec is installed ?
You can find them on prospec.co.in

Is skid plate necessary?
Depends on what type of riding ans terrain one proposes to do.

I’m a utilitarian. While I agree, as anyone else should, that lighter is better; this still is an adventure bike.
Where will I put my tool kit, tire repair kit, aux light mount, bottle holder and perhaps an auxiliary gas tank since these 390s will choke at a sense of a bad gas.
Whatever works for you! Enjoy.
Where to get the silicone Sleeves for exhaust online ?
Amazon
@@bigbearbangalore im unable to find !
If you can please provide a link or write down the search term ! It would be of immense help ! Thankyou !
I bought it very long ago and it's no longer available. Look for silicone exhaust shield.
Hi, where can i get the silencer muffler cover?
That was purchase online on Amazon. Exhaust silicone heat shield.
@@bigbearbangaloreThe silicon cover makes a lot of sense esp as an insurance when riding with Saddle Bags. I tried searching on Amazon but couldn’t find one. Request if you could share a link. 🙏🏼😊
@mayankshahi it’s no longer available.
Well said :)
